I am incredibly impressed that with so many people on staff, it still took over an hour to get food... ...and when we got it, we had no silverware, and our water glasses were empty for the entire meal... and then they forgot the avocado with my meal and brought it after I was done...and my friend asked for an extra piece of bread to make his melt an actual sandwich ... which was brought to him after he was almost finished and then he was charged for it. Not to mention $10 for 2 small iced coffees while we waited, and then we had to pay AGAIN for coffee because there are no refills and the hot coffee was a different charge... and then the hot coffee was empty for long periods of time. The waitress knew we were mad, and gave us a discount... of a dollar... while the owner sat on the porch, looking on with her feet up chatting with friends. I cant think of a single thing that went right during my visit. Even the best coffee in the world doesnt make up for a painful experience. You can find better places to spend your money, Salt Lake.

This place is great in some ways, and not so great in others. My biggest gripe is that when I come here, it is either to get some serious work done or to meet with a client, and the wifi is really hit and miss. I cant rely on it working at all, which means that I dont schedule client meetings here that require internet anymore. The design, aesthetics, and vibe are awesome. Food is tasty, but overpriced - about what you would expect. Ive worked in the meeting rooms with clients, but find that scheduling is really poorly managed and weve had someone overlapping our time more than once. Ive also held events here for clients and really found the event management staff to be lacking, although its a nice venue otherwise. All in all, if there were some improvements to management for event/meeting clients and a serious wifi upgrade, this would be primary spot downtown for work, with avocado toast and an americano on the side.

Its rare to find a coffee shop like this in SLC. The atmosphere feels much more like Stumptown, Sightglass, or another west coast, destination style coffee shop. I very much appreciate their coffee and toast offerings, both are great and have something new to offer on a regular basis. Weve also had a few events here, one for an annual planning meeting for our company leadership and a couple larger gatherings for events with a hundred people or so. The accommodations are great and the staff was easy to work with. Im really happy Publik exists in SLC. And whether you call this city home, or are just passing through, Publik is definitely worth the stop.

I travel considerably and tour coffee shops around the world. Publik ranks at the top of the list of shops I have visited. They have spared no details in effort at creating a great experience. The shop is amazing down to the smallest detail in the restrooms. The coffee is fantastic! The toast with apricot and ginger jam was outstanding. I had a small issue with a mug I bought from the store and called from the airport. They immediately promised to mail me a new cup along with a bag of coffee for my trouble. That was on Thursday. Saturday morning my package arrived in Austin, Texas. GREAT SHOP!

Its a bit like sitting in a repainted, abandoned warehouse with a hole in the ceiling (oh, it is...). Ive been here four times, and Ive yet to be greeted, or even thanked for my business by the cashier. As a matter of fact, they seem to feel as though they are doing you a favor by even ringing you up, and then chatting loudly and vibrantly with whoever walks in next that they are friends with. (Utah customer service at its usual) Mediocre brew at best, decent toast selection, and great scenery, if by "great scenery" you mean watching people stare at laptops for hours on end.

This is the perfect place to show off Salt Lake City to visiting friends or family. Its also a perfect place to meet with friends, have a business meeting or to just get a cup of coffee alone. The event space looks fantastic and has me daydreaming about what sort of event I could conjure up to host there. Overall, the building is gorgeous and the menu is creative and delicious (I had the rosemary toast with heirloom jam and goat cheese). I did once have an incident with a snotty barista, but the manager went way out of his way to make it right for me. Publik Coffee rocks.

Here is the shamelessest of plugs for one of the coolest places in #SLC. Yes, these public wifi speeds are real: 39Mbps down 18.51 up. Its a coffee place, but they serve food, have great music, lots of comfy chairs, fast wifi, attractive and polite baristas, and a kind and a wonderfully inspiring staff. Might I add the playlist playing on their system since Ive been here? @Wilco, #EchoAndTheBunnymen, The @Ntnl, @officialCrystalCastles. And then a guy that looks just like Bob from #TwinPeaks walked in. Needless to say, youll stay all day.

Not exactly what I envision when I hear "coffee shop". The atmosphere is mechanic and and cold, kind of unwelcoming. The coffee is just a little too bitter, even for a dark roast lover. (Although, my friends skinny latte was very good.) Publik is often called "edgy" and "modern", but I think its just sterile. The white and black color scheme and uniquely shaped tables are uncomfortable, and it feels like a place youd really only come to work on something of significance, not relax with friends or read a newspaper.

Im sad... My toast is gone... I ate it all and now I miss it cuz it was amazing! Now on to the coffee. As expected its delicious. This is my third time here and it always beats expectations. I live in WA and travel to SLC a decent amount. I often arrive hours before I have a meeting so I camp out here. Its perfect for getting a morning worth of work done on the top floor, in a bright comfy spot with power for the computer, great tunes, and some of the best small breakfast bites and coffee around. Thanks Publik!

This place is hard to get to as it is right before you get off the freeway, but its worth making your way back around the block. I dont drink coffee but the grind it daily in store and have slow drip and a huge variety. We came for their famous toast. I had peasant bread with goat cheese and pear lavender jam. It was stupid good. I was very impressed at how hardy and filling it was while still being soft and dense. There is also a great orange habanero marmalade.

The ambiance is very cool for sure. It has an old, run down warehouse sort of feel with exposed brick, wood, and metal. A couple of things bothered me though. The coffee that they use for their americanos was pretty flavorless. I really like it when I can taste the espresso beans but this one just didnt cut it. Also if youre looking to go here to work just know that the wi-fi cuts in and out a lot. But other than that it is a good place to go and work.

Publik coffee AND kitchen are both amazing. My favorite thing about public hands down though is their coffee. They occasionally carry some gluten free or vegan goodies from City Cakes since its so close by. Nothing goes better with coffee than some sweet goodness. Awesome environment and huge which I love. If you need to work or focus there is so many places in this coffee shop you can go to avoid distraction and sip some amazing java.
