I came in at lunch time and there was a semi-long line, but it moved very quickly. I ordered a combo with half soup and half salad. One of the employees started making my salad and I was moved on down to the soups. I requested that the employee put my soup in a child’s soup cup because I didn’t want the same portion that normally comes in the combo. I wanted less soup. The employee said that it would be the same price and I told her that was totally fine and I appreciated her serving me a smaller portion. I was then moved on to the next employee who said the prior employee was “not allowed” to put my soup in a kids cup. I told her it was fine, I had requested it that way and I was going to pay for the regular portion. She then proceeded to argue with me and tell me that she would resolve the issue by dumping the soup in a larger container. I asked her not to do this as I did not want to see the original container go to waste. I try to be eco conscious when possible and this to me seemed like a complete waste for no reason. She continued to argue with me and dumped the soup into a new container anyways and threw away the original. I then asked for no strawberry and the same employee all but threw the bread into the container without any wrapper while smirking and proceeded to whisper to another employee and glance in my direction as I attempted to check out. I was visibly upset at this point and finally at the cashier station. The employee here, on auto pilot, looked at my soup and said this is way under portioned (which it was because I had asked for it that way!!), but before I could stop her she had taken the soup out and was halfway back down the assembly line to fill it up some more. After a few seconds I was able to get the cashier’s attention and explained to her (the third person I had to explain this to now) that I just wanted less soup. This is just another very disappointing experience at this Cafe Zupas location and leaves me seriously questioning whether I want to support this establishment any more.

I was into this location of Zupas last night and left feeling so embarrassed. I recently have had surgery that prevent me from eating a lot of different types of food. When I went to the counter to order, I tried to quietly explain that I really only needed a kids meal due to my new dietary restrictions and was given grief over it. I ask if I could do the kids soup and then instead of having the two breaded chicken strips (Which I absolutely cannot eat) if I could instead have a single piece of turkey lunch meat. I was told no by the young man in the green smock saying there is no way that would be possible. I tired again to quietly explain my situation as I didnt need a restaurant full of people knowing about my surgery or medial condition and he cut me off saying I could get either the fruit cup or grilled cheese. Again I tried to explain I cannot have bread or raw fruit and veggies at this time and he seemed rushed to get me through and said there was really nothing he could do. I felt stupid and embarrassed because at this point several employees had stopped to watch as well as the growing line of customers behind me. I said I would just skip the kids meal and get a small soup, which was twice the price and I can only eat about half of it. I am so frustrated that this young man and the staff would not help me out. I was asking to exchange two chicken strips for ONE piece of lunch meat. Not for a whole sandwich, just one piece of lunch meat because of my dietary restrictions after surgery. But the staff could not have cared any less and left me feeling like I was nothing more than an inconvenience. I wont be back.

Used to be one of our favorite places to eat with the fresh ingredients and family atmosphere but, its getting increasing annoying with the ordering line, tables not bussed, etc., and tonights experience may have "jumped the shark"! Had gotten used to repeating our order several times down the line with the frequent mixed up results. However, tonight the final inquisitor (and the store manager) didnt listen to us, requiring us to repeat our orders again three more times when all we had was three combos. I told her it wasnt complicated and she insisted she was trying to save us money. I told her it always was three combos but she was getting confused as she was waiting on the hot sandwiches. She got surly, tossed our rolls and strawberries on our tray and walked away. Then we sat down to eat and enjoy what normally is good food but alas, the "hand-made" soup of the day, Irish Stew was INEDIBLE!! It tasted like the cook accidentally dumped an extra couple cups of salt into the soup. It tasted like brown seawater with potatoes and meat. First time we left full bowls of soup uneaten on our tray and probably the last time we patronize this establishment!

With a large party if 4 families going through we practically begged them to write down our order so nothing would get messed up. The manager refused saying it is easier for them to get it right if we remember our order through the entire line. I ordered for my family first, and after we went through the "telephone game" ordering line I ended up with the wrong salad and my child a wrong soup and bread instead of a strawberry. As I went to correct the error my husband was blamed for getting the wrong order! There is something wrong with the ordering process when you have to tell 3 or more people what you ordered for your entire family and they still get it wrong. So disappointed in the customer service. On top of that we were in the restaurant for an hour and not one table was cleared off during that time. Will not be returning to this location.

Food was pretty good but the whole process is terrible. Had never been to a Zupas before but couldnt believe we had to repeat our order to 3 different people moving down the line. First the salad person then a soup person then the person working the register asked us what we had and what was ours. There were 5 of us (3 kids) and I was lucky to get the order right the first time let alone the third time. Also the kids fruit bowls (a major choice on their kids menu) came out looking nothing like the picture. They had about 5 grapes and 5-6 mandarin oranges. The picture on the menu showed a full cup of fruit and Id be pushing to call this a quarter cup. Id go back if it were just me as I did enjoy my salad. However if you have a family with young kids and are ordering as a group Id never consider visiting again.
