This was probably the worst dining experience of my life. I have been thinking about our horrible waiter for a 24 hours now and cant get over how horrible I felt about myself when I was leaving. The story goes like this - we arrived at Grappa around 9 oclock Thursday evening and we were seated on the outside patio on the second floor. I believe our waiters name was Mac, but I am not 100% sure. I asked him how the risotto was and he said "I dont eat pasta, but the salads are really good." My family and I are not huge, but we definitely arent the skinniest people.. and all of his food answers seemed to suggest we need to lose weight. Next my mom asked him how the chefs flat bread was and again he said "I dont eat bread I dont even eat it before meals, I suggest the salad. Would you guys like some bread?" I honestly didnt think much of it until after we were finished eating he comes to take our plates and says "WOW! You guys really ate a lot! Most people cant eat that much. Especially the pasta." When we asked him questions about the activities to do around town he had very condesending answers and spoke to us as if we were stupid. My problem is A. How do you work in an Italian Restaurant and not like pasta and bread? B. How do you work in a tourist town and get rude and speak down to people when they ask for your opinion? and C. How have you not been fired for treating customers this way? This is the first review that I have ever left. I literally have not been able to get this experience out of my head all day. I went to bed upset and work up upset. The food wasnt that great either. My Risotto was bland and my mom "salad" (yes she was so uncomfortable that she didnt get what she wanted) was literally a cut up beet on a plate. Its safe to say if I could give it zero stars, I would.

After wonderful recommendations, we made reservations at Grappa 7 weeks before our ski trip to Park City. From the start, it was an awful experience. First, there is hardly a waiting area. When we arrived, (5 minutes before our reservation time) we encountered about 4 groups already waiting in the tiny lobby. We waited for about 20 minutes before finally being seated. One of the members of the group glanced at the hostess to see her tapping the tip jar, insinuating that if we wanted to get seated, we must tip her. Once we were seated, we had the rudest female server you could imagine. She offered no suggestions, and answered all questions with one word answers. For the most part, the food was good, but my meal was nothing spectacular, and definitely not worth the terrible service. We wanted to look at the dessert menu, but she brought our checks before we could even suggest dessert of coffee. Trust me, this place was awful. If you want a nice evening, look elsewhere.

While in Park City to ski, we opted for dinner at Grappas. The dining room is quaint and cozy and while me and my companion were seated at an odd two-top next to a pillar, the view to the street and side yard was nice. The food and service were very disappointing. The appetizers and soup were fine, but when my entree arrived (parmesean encrusted salmon) the salmon was completely raw underneath the breadcrumbs and parmesean. When I sent it back, the server rudely indicated that "we cook our fish medium and thats not to everyones liking". When it came back it was still completely uncooked and unedible, but on the third try they did manage to cook the fish to medium. While the server remained rude, the manager had the good graces to remove the salmon from the meal. Based upon the poor service, unskilled kitchen staff and chef, and the price, I cannot recommend Grappas. The soup was decent, so I give it one star.

We made reservations for three in this charming former boarding house. They put us on a table for two so we were very crowded. I tried to order appetizers with our drinks but was told that we had to order everything at once for the convenience of the kitchen on a busy night. Thats not what I expect from an establishment that wants to be known for fine dining. I had their specialty dish, osso bucco, and it was nothing special. It looked like a dry piece of meat on the plate; it was not overcooked but didnt have much flavor or succulence that is typical of excellent osso bucco, though the marrow was good. The food is not special and, combined with the volume-driven treatment, I would not go again.

We dined there to celebrate our sons 27th birthday. What a treat! We were shown to the best table in the house with spectacular views of the festive street (I forgot to post earlier, this was just after Christmas). The restaurant itself was still decorated for the Holidays and looked romantic, elegant and classy. The food was superb and the wait staff courteous and knowledgeable, all this despite the fact that we came in and right away presented them a coupon for a "2 for 1 entree" deal. It is highly expensive, so check the local newspaper for these coupon ads, its well worth it. We couldnt believe that we found this kind of food and atmosphere in a ski resort. It rivals Manhattans best!

This evening, we dined with pleasure and delight at Grappa. We have been looking for a special Park City place to host a summer wedding rehearsal dinner. After we read the other reviews, we were unsure of what to expect, but wanted to check this out for ourselves. We found the service to be excellent, our meals and their presentations were superb, topped off by delicious special treats sent by Chef Alex. We loved Grappa charm, ambiance and our total dining experience. We look forward to revisiting in August. We encourage others to experience the same.

What a night! The restaurant is beautiful inside and out with a very inviting atmosphere. We had the flat bread with ricotta cheese and asparagus for an appetizer and the horseradish encrusted salmon for dinner with the grape and gorgonzola cheese salad with cheesecake and coffee for dessert. What delights! The best salmon I have ever had. Perfectly delicious meal to the last detail. Our server was Nick, and he was cheerful, funny and very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. This is my new favorite restaurant.

This is an OK place if youre not really expecting much. We on the other hand were initially excited to learn that Grappa made their pasta in house. Sadly this pasta was terribly overcooked - sort of Chef Boyardee style. The duck (advertised as confi) turned out to be a duck breast cooked beyond repair (apparently medium rare = cooked til its hard and gray). Staff basically lackluster. We paid our $280 bill - but that will be our last charitable donation to Crappa, I mean Grappa.

Went to Grappas for my 30th Birthday dinner and they made it a very special evening for me. The Hostess was so nice to take my groups picture and they brought me a complimentary cheese cake. I had the best Filet Mignon ever! They were more than willing to substitute items for my guests and our server took the time to tell us some history about the building and answer our menu questions. Cant wait to go again!
