We went on a Saturday. I thought the theme was neat.we ordered half orders of calamari and fried mushrooms. The waitress brought calamari and mozzarella sticks. We sent back the cheese and got the mushrooms. Appetizers were good. The menu is very limited.I ordered a 10 Oz steak. My husband ordered the prime rib. My daughter ordered the bacon wrapped chopped steak. When the food came the kid steak was a hamburger patty without a bun. No bacon. After the waitress convinced me I was wrong about what I should have expected from a bacon wrapped steak she offered to bring a slice of bacon. Which was still chewey. My husband and I both ordered medium and got very rare. The salad was lettuce peas and a slice of beet. The potato was served with butter and sour cream. When the waitress brought my receipt it was for 9$. When I asked what it was she assured me it was a charge from another table. I spoke to a manager to inform them of my experience and she assured me this was not normal, apologized for the bad experience and offered a gift card. When I got home I checked my account and saw she had indeed charged my card an additional 9$, lied to me about it and when I went to clear it up the entire staff seemed to Know why I was there the second I walked in the door. I wish I had read the reviews before I went there it sounds like my experience is not unusual there. Far too overpriced to let so much slide on lack of hospitality.

My wife and I decided to try this place to celebrate Valentines. I have to say that the service was severely lacking, and the food was just okay. I wanted a beer and our waitress told us they have someone specific to take drink orders. Thats fine and all, but if thats the case, please make sure that they actually come around to take the order. I had to remind our waitress three times that I wanted to order a beer. It never happened, I couldnt believe it. Never had that happen before. Now on to the food. We got the "Calamari" fries. When they were delivered to the table, they looked just like frozen fish sticks. Wife didnt like them, and I thought they were okay, but that was no Calamari. Sauce was good though. Then after waiting for awhile and having other people food and drinks wrongly delivered to our table, we find out that our ticket had been misplaced in the kitchen and it was going to be a little longer. We finally get our meal and the batter an my wifes shrimp is still uncooked and her steak was very rare. My steak turned out fine. It was amateur hour at the Timbermine, and I doubt we will ever return.

Huge and crowded - people relate to the rustic decor and canyon mouth/river location. Not really my kind of food, but my extended family likes to meet there on special occasions and the atmosphere seems to appeal to most people I know. Again, Im probably not the target customer, so dont take my meh as yours, as you - like many - may love it. My prime rib serving was huge - and while a friend had told me it would "melt in my mouth" it was very (very) chewy. I ordered medium rare and it was totally rare, which was OK with me, since, not being much of a meat eater, I took most of it home and had a main dish for three days (including at the restaurant). The shrimp cocktail, baked potato and "au jus" and horseradish sauces were all fine. The free french bread is soft, doughier than any other french bread I remember and served cold. And not cheap. Again, I belong in smaller, more intimate, less meat centered restaurants, so take my half-hearted enthusiasm in that context and if its your thing, make reservations (!) especially at prime times and enjoy.

Not quite up to past visits The wait to be seated was reasonable (about 20 minutes). The servers were friendly and were constantly looking to our needs. The food arrived hot and fairly quickly. The stake was cooked exactly as we requested. Let me first state that when we go out for stake, I always have the same stake - a Filet Mignon, so I can easily compare the same stake from different stake houses. This was the toughest Filet Ive had in many years. I couldnt believe that I had received what I ordered. I asked the server and it was their filet. There is another Stake house in Ogden that we always went to but after 2 consecutive visits where we had a poor meal (first time was my wifes and the second time was mine) , we have never returned. With the exception of using a gift card, we probably will not return to the Timber Mine. There are other stake houses that we go to where the food is consistently good and predictable, so we will drive a little further to go to them.

I honestly thought this was going to be a great experience because of things I have heard about this place. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. I posted a picture of the salad I received and it was literally bagged lettuce with some toasted French bread. No other veggies or anything. If I am paying $28 for a meal I hope that I could get a little more freshness. None of our steaks were cooked the way they were supposed to. The one reason I am giving at least 3 stars is because of the taste of the meat was great. The only other good thing about my meal was our appetizers. Honestly the best thing we ate all night was the mozzarella sticks. They were so delicious that it made the meal worth it. The staff, however, is why I also gave a 3 star rating. They were very nice and always attentive to our needs throughout the night. All in all I feel that for a high end steak restaurant they could do a lot better job at giving me a freshly cooked meal.

I dont think Ill be back... waited 45 minutes Friday night (it was expected) got seated waited 15 or so more minutes before we finally made a comment "we wish we could get waited on" as a waitress walked past.... bc her hostess did not communicate that she sat us in her section. (But the waitress did a very good job once she knew we were there ) but the fried mushrooms came out raw in the middle, the salads had brown lettuce, theyre menu doesnt have much viarity to it either. Now I got a filet mignon asked for it medium rare (which I know it takes away from the steak flavor and texture) but when I received the steaks one was cook great while the other was well with a hint of pink, the steamed veggies were very good though and the bartender did a great job as well. Now when we asked for to go boxes they only had small ones and we offered a doggy plastic bag was offered to put the 32oz porter house in it. In conclusion I dont think Id go back.

I searched google to find the phone number to the Timbermine and came across these many reviews. To my horror, I was a little nervous about going to this restaurant. We received a gift card for Christmas and decided to use it for our Valentines Date. They do not take call ahead seating reservations but were quick to get us seated at a table for a Friday night, before Valentines Day. The salad was large and served on a chilled plate. Good quality lettuce and salad dressing. My husband and I both ordered the prime rib and it did not disappoint. It was juicy, moist, cooked to our specifications perfectly. The butter and sour cream provided on the table were more than adequate for the baked potato. Yes, it is a little overpriced and the decorations and ambience is a little corny, but its worth you checking it out.
