We went here on 6/4/14 at 2:00 in the afternoon. As we walked in, there was a greeting counter with no-one there. We stood there for 3-4 minutes and decided to just make our way into the restaurant. (Sidenote: there is a glass office to the side that someone was in and another person walked into and just ignored us as well - not sure if its really part of this establishment or not.) Walking in, we were greeted by the bar tender. We asked if we seat ourselves and she said to just sit anywhere. She was pleasant enough. The room was large and the atmosphere was great. Beautiful restaurant. It looked clean. We sat over to one side. She had asked if wanted the buffet or menus. We said menus but we walked by the buffet on our way to our table just to see it. The food looked like it had been there a while and we were glad we got the menu choice. (or so we thought) To make a long story short, there was ONE person serving all the tables that were there. Although it looked "slower", there were 6-9 different tables she was trying to wait on. (I believe her name was Heather.) It took us forever to actually be served and once we got our drinks, the food took over 45 minutes to come out. We finally just asked for the food to go (this was before it even came out) - we simply didnt have all afternoon to wait. This was lunchtime. Most people would get an HOUR for lunch. We were in the restaurant for OVER an hour. Needless to say, we were VERY disappointed. Especially due to how nice the place looked. The food was good once we got it home. We really enjoy Indian food and if the speed was better, might actually try this place again. The meal was a little over $40.00 for the two of us. A LITTLE high but not unreasonable by any means. I think a large part of the problem is the "seat yourself" mentality. If Heather (or ANYONE) would have sat people as they walked in, they could have clumped everyone together to one side of the restaurant and helped out the poor server from having to literally go to every corner of the place. And, whoever the manager is, shame on you for having ONE server there. She was getting orders, running them to the tables, taking tickets and money as well as the incidentals of "can you get me an extra ....". And, on top of it all, she was BAR-TENDING! There were 2 or 3 guys at the bar that required her attention as well.

The Spice Bistro seems very promising when you walk in, the place is gorgeous... the hostess was dressed like a ninja ballerina and gave us our choice of seats. This was the best part of our experience ... after that, it all went downhill. Our waitress did not serve us water or acknowledge us until after about ten minutes so we had to ask the hostess if it was okay if we could partake of the buffet advertised. Then, there were no plates and honestly, it wasnt like the place was popping. There were maybe a total of ten customers. I found it odd that along side the vegetable pakora there was angel hair pasta and upon further examination of the menu I noticed that they also offered burger sliders. I could complain about the little things I noticed, like how the cutlery looked like that cheap stuff you buy in camping kits but Ill just stick to how bland and gross the food was. I think they buy it at wal-mart and just cook it in the microwave. They need to take the "authentic" part of their sign down because this is not authentic Indian food. I dont see how any type of Indian food could be authentic when its being served beside angel hair pasta or burger sliders. Furthermore, our waitress "accidentally" charged us $31 for a $24 meal which took a long time to correct. Im not sure if she was just expecting us to say, oh - its okay and let her keep the extra as tip but we served ourselves, the Naan came twenty minutes into the meal and she refilled our goblets of water once. Shes lucky she got the 20% tip. The food left us with stomach aches.... Also - its now hours later and its been a long time since Ive had a stomach ache this bad... I would honestly save your money, make the trip downtown and eat real Indian food, the pain and cost is not worth going to this place.

I ate at this establishment several nights ago, and wasnt very impressed with the service nor the surroundings. The restaurant atmosphere was manageable, but there was no sense of intimacy with company or with a partner, and really no logical arrangement to the tables and the bar; you feel clumsy as you wind your way through to a table. I had the chicken tikka masala, and my wife ate the chicken korma, both were very good dishes; the flavors were fabulous, the texture and creaminess of both sauces were excellent. The portion sizes are on the small side for the price...on average youre looking at 14.00 USD for a bowl of sauce and cup of basmati rice. They definitely know how to cook. What could be a marked improvement in this establishment is the service; thankfully our waiter was a gentleman and was accommodating to our requests, although he consistently wasnt very timely. The "other servers" (they seem to use the cleaning staff to serve the food as well, for some reason), the water boys and the hostesses arent exactly the most pleasant. This place could definitely use further training in hospitality and common sense management. All in all, I had a mediocre experience and the food was excellent; at this point I would recommend this restaurant but buyer beware, prepare to spend a little more money for less food that is not at 3-star level, albeit tasteful, quality food, but not at these prices. Wait several months until this restaurant matures a bit more, hopefully we may see an improvement in quality. By the way, the owner is tied to Big Daddys pizza...maybe that should tell you something.

The food is great, and has always been great. Their service has become sub-par over the past year. In the past, they had a great wait staff who were very friendly and professional. It seems their wait staff has parted ways and the owners friends/family act as servers. They are very slow and do not have a sense of urgency to serve their customers. Not only that, the poor service extends to their To-Go orders. They did not receive our order from GrubHub even though we received a confirmation text message stating they received our order. I arrived to pick up our order at the specified time (40 minutes later), and they had not even started cooking our food and had no idea we even ordered food. I sat at the bar for 30 minutes where they served me water. This is after they told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. A complementary appetizer would have been nice considering the experience, however, their apology will suffice. I brought the food home to my family and it was excellent. I have always been satisfied with their food, but their service is lackluster. Please address the poor service. fix your grub hub account, and fix the phone number associated with the restaurant on all internet marketing outlets. Also, If I see one more health code violation, however minor it may be, I will not be back.
