I made reservations for a prom party of 12 directly through the restaurant a month in advance. I made them direct so that there would not be mishaps. When we arrived early, we took pictures outside because the view is beautiful. We then went inside so that I could check the kids in. They were seated at time of reservations. So I then left because the group had a limo for the prom so I thought everything was taken care of. Unfortunately, an hour and a half later I got a phone call from my daughter saying that they still had not gotten their food, their drinks hadnt been refilled and they couldnt find their waitress. I wasnt happy to say the least. One, we had a limo driver sitting outside and two, if the kids are not at prom by a certain time they will not be allowed in. I was about to call to find out what the problem was. As we were about to hang up, she said wait, our food in coming now! So again, I thought everything was taken care of. WRONG!! The food arrived cold and a different waitress had taken over their table. They did say that she was trying but that she was just running in circles trying to attend to all tables around them also. Nevertheless, our limo driver even went in and complained, asking what was taking so long!? After I found all this out when another kid in the party called me telling me how terrible the food and service was AND that they charged EACH one of them a gratuity tip. I was amazed that this was happening at such a nice place?! I then called and asked for a manager. I spoke with Brian in which he claimed to be the manager. He wasnt any help and Ill NEVER darken the door of Lago del Pino again. I hope they take all those gratuity tips and hire more help!!!

The place is gorgeous but the food and service was an absolute mess. My steak had no flavor at all. Mac and cheese was runny, like noodles mixed with milk. Took long periods of time to get drinks. Took an hour just to get our food and there were only two other tables there at the time. Every one in our party had a complaint, mostly that there was no flavor to the food. Tortillas for fajitas were hard as cardboard. Waitress messed up three different checks, tried to tell us gratuity wasnt added but even though there was barely any ink on the receipts you could clearly read that gratuity was added automatically. I had to wait for her for 20 minutes to show up so I could tell her she didnt give me my change nor my receipt, she went to the bar grabbed $5 (not my change) handed it to me and walked off. And here I am today trying to enjoy the cheesecake I purchased for dessert I couldnt eat until now, and it has mold on the bottom of it. I got this last night from you guys. Moldy cheesecake to top off a horrible tasteless dinner brought to us by a slow thieving waitress. $55 down the drain. Wouldnt recommend to my worst enemy. A waste of a beautiful venue. Oh and p.s. your menus are a mess. The ink didnt even print all the way on the paper menus and theres no detail of what kind of drinks, dessert, etc. You serve. Could barely read half of it. Youd think for $50 a meal per guest for subpar food you could afford atleast a menu cover and to print a beverage list!! Also the other waiter handed someone a lemon with his bare hands. Unsanitary and disrespectful.

If I could post no stars I would. My husband and I have come on two different occasions. The first time we had a horrible dinner experience between the tasteless food and lack of service. The second one was today, we came for the brunch menu. I was attracted to giving the restaurant another chance because I love waffles and they have a waffle bar. Their brunch is $17 a plate. I want to start out with nothing on the brunch buffet is marked. When we arrived there was only us at the buffet bar, I ordered a waffle. I stood there until the gentleman cooking my waffle said it would take 5 minutes, so I walked back to my table. I assumed it would be brought to me, after more than 5 minutes I walked to check on it the gentleman was nowhere to be found. I grabbed a champagne flutes to get orange juice and the glass smelled like a dog had drank out of it. I walked back to my table again, as I sat down there was a woman down on the lower level smoking. Supposedly, that is allowed on the lower deck outside... For $17 for breakfast that being allowed is obsured to me. The manager is passing it off to be a high falutint restaurant but he/she allows smoking. Back to my waffle- Because I couldnt sit down due to being allergic to smoke I went to check on it again. The man had returned, my waffle was burnt to the top of the waffle iron. I just passed on another one. I ate the other subpart food on the buffet and we left. We will not be back. We can go to another local brunch spot pay way less for better food, get our meal smoke free, and get better service.

Yes, its very pretty to look at, but looks can be deceiving. My party and I were seated. The waiter gave us our menus. My friend inquired about the specials. The waiter didnt know. I inquired about a drink. The waiter didnt know. We ordered an appetizer and the waiter walked away. The table next to us inquired about the specials and were given a full list by a different waiter. They waiter picked up the drink menu and even suggested a few new cocktails. Our waiter had yet to return. I asked this other - more competent - waiter for a drink menu. When our waiter finally returned, I ordered a cocktail and dinner as did the rest of my party. To make a long story short (too late), the food was even worse than the service. My chicken tasted like rubber. The wontons with prime rib had some sort of spam (processed/pureed) product inside which made it inedible (did not contain prime rib). My friend with the chicken pretzel sandwich tore it apart trying to find something edible inside. Simply put, the food was awful. Finally, when the bill arrived it was incorrect. We were overcharged. The wontons werent taken off the original bill. The drinks were "miscalculated". I had to redo the ticket twice before it was correct. I also had to fetch the waiter because he was nowhere to be found and we wanted out of this place. As you can tell, I do not recommend this restaurant in the least. Service is horrid. Food is horrid. And, basic math ability is nonexistent.

Dined for the first time on 5-22; surprised that the wine prices were very high compared to other venues in Tyler area. Had a premium Chardonnay and it showed as $16 on my bill (could have been the price for 2 glasses of wine). Had the Ahi Tuna and my wife had the Jalapeno Meat Loaf. My tuna dish was very good, but my wife did not care too much for the meat loaf or the greens ..thought it would be spicier. She would have preferred some sort of chicken dish but there were no such entrees on the menu. Service by Danielle was very good and prompt. The scenery at Lago del Pino is very beautiful and makes for a regal dining experience. The upstairs club room and bar is very nice also and has a great view of the lake and fountains. The restaurant was very neat and clean. Our dining companions had other dishes; the other wife had the pork chop entree and it was too salty...had to send it back. The other husband had a dish and I did not ask what he ordered, but he seemed to enjoy it. Draft beers are very good and the mixed drinks were good. Overall the experience was good, but the menu could be expanded somewhat.
