Have been here several times when my northern homesick feeling kicks in. They recently renovated the place and it is a big improvement. If you are looking for your Canada fix, this is your place in Houston. They have a good selection of Canadian beers and will play any hockey game on air. If you are a hockey fan, this is your go-to place as well, take a seat in the penalty box for fun. Thursday night is trivia night as well as Steak night. Their steak night stands out a bit because not only do you get your typical side of baked potato, but you also have an option to add sides like grilled asparagus or shrimp on occasion. Other than one-off nights like this, they do not have meal options. They do have snacks if you are in a pinch. They also used to let you have food delivered in from anywhere, I cannot verify this is currently still allowed. Overall, I would say not a bad spot.

Hockey is king at this midtown pub, so if youre a fan, throw on your jersey and order a bucket of Molsens. If youre visiting during the Stanley Cup Playoffs, expect standing room only. This place gets LOUD and rowdy, but its all part of the charm. Aside from the weekly steak nights (Thursdays) the food is simple and well-priced, but theyre opening a full kitchen soon, and will have more menu items like POUTINE when it does. Not a hockey fan? Nobodys perfect, but dont let that deter you from checking out The Maple Leaf Pub. They have trivia, karaoke, poker and bingo nights as well. Whats not to love? Cold beer and friendly faces make The Maple Leaf a year-round best bet.

Calling all Hockey fans, this is your bar! The number of high definition televisions make it easy to catch your hockey game or any other televised sports program for that matter. Maple Leaf not only boasts some Canadian beers on tap but there is quite a variety of domestic classics, import favorites and an impressive local craft selection. If youre not in the mood for a pint order your favorite cocktail - oh and the shots are amazing too. Friendly owner and bartenders, the regulars at the bar dont bite and the restroom is pretty darn clean - check this place out next time youre in midtown.

This place can get PACKED and what do you expect from a Canadian bar that shows hockey games. There arent many around. They have food which I didnt try but there drinks were nice. They had beer of course and mixed drinks as well. Its difficult to find a seat but the crowd is pretty friendly and will share half of their table if you ask nicely. ;) Be careful with parking. Their parking lot is in the back and it was full when I got there, so I had to park on the street and unfortunately parked too close to a crosswalk so I got a parking ticket.... :( bummer.....

Service was worse than deplorable. Very hard to get drinks. No one ever spoke to us. Bartender, I believe the bar manager, Steve was so drunk, he lost several credit cards while I was standing at the bar. There were also several disputes on tickets once he found them. The female bartender did the best she could trying to take up his slack. An ex-employee ended up jumping behind the bar and getting them out of the weeds. Horrible. Horrible. I have frequented this bar for some time now, but it will be very hard for me to go back.

Bar management is rude as hell. Im a fan of metal music and it was available on the jukebox. The manager skipped all of my songs, yes she refunded my money but it was still an insult. Not to mention that she wasnt there for our four hour stay until the end of it. I wanted to hear those songs. If she doesnt like it, she should block it. Bad service because they elect to not hire the proper staff and choose to overwhelm their existing staff. Horrible management period. And to think I actually tried to apply for a job there...

Great hockey bar located in downtown Houston. Plenty of free parking behind the establishment even though it could fill up on a busy night easily. Lots of different beers on tap and they have some Canadian imports for our friends to the north. Several tvs around are always on hockey, but if there isnt a game they show other sports. They have plenty of board games, a hockey "foosball" table, and air hockey. Highly recommend this place for watching sports if any kind but especially hockey.

Great place for hockey fans, especially those displaced from other parts of North America. Always had a good time here, even when crowded....mainly because hockey fans tend to like other hockey fans. Not sure what the other reviewers here couldnt handle, but sometimes bars are noisy, crowded places. If you dont like crowds, going to a hockey bar during the Cup Finals might not be a good move. Anyway, love this place. Get yourself thrown into the penalty box if you get the chance.

Bad service. The bartender Alicia had the worst attitude. She was RUDE, she was not interested in our business I will never spend a penny in your establishment again. My overall experiences with your company have been very unpleasant. I will avoid your pub in the future. Ill probably avoid recommending you to others. I will write this in all social networking sites and all relevant and newspapers. I will make it my crusade let people know how bad the maple leaf is.

Marc Omar...youve only been there once...i was with you haha. You were rude to her, she was rude to you..end of story haha. I go there all the time and have no problems. Everyone has a bad day, give it another chance instead of letting one bad experience mold your view forever. You wouldnt want someone hating you based on a first impression. Love you buddy, lets get a beer soon...at the maple leaf. :) and yes...this is a year later.

Great bar that always has the hockey games on. I grew up watching and playing hockey even though Im from Houston, so this place is great. Drinks are reasonably priced and Ive never seen the place too packed. We normally go on Thursdays. We have also been when they have trivia, but its extremely difficult to hear the announcer. It might have been a fluke, but if youre serious about your Trivia this might not be the spot.

The Maple Leaf was a great place to watch the Stanley Cup Finals. Friendly staff and great food. A bit over priced on drinks and food, but a wonderful atmosphere. Tons of Penguin fans and volume was on and at a comfortable level for watching the game. Clean restrooms and outlets for charging your phone under the concrete bar.; very nice touch. Overall a good place. Better prices would have given this place 5 stars.

Be careful when you visit Maple Leaf Pub and dont leave anything of value in your vehicle. They have had several break ins, my husband being one. And though they have cameras, there is not enough lighting in the lot to make anything out. The bartenders were most helpful in reviewing the video and giving it to the police, but that doesnt help much if you cant see anything.

One of my favorite bars in Houston! They built a new extension with large TVs and it is pretty sweet! You can even play street hockey outside (they provide the equipment). It is one of the only bars in Houston that has great drinks that are reasonably priced. The owner is very sweet and encourages their customers to have a great time.
