Terrible experience the waitstaff was horrible & they told us they ran out of items they later served. The food was just okay nothing special. Its small and they feel like the food is good enough to treat you like crap.

Went here because of the good reviews. Heres an honest one for you. I came in with 6 other people to do two separate to go orders. We walk up to the counter and the first thing the lady said to me is "hes gonna get mad" I responded "whos going to get mad?" "That customer" she said. "Hes getting up to pay." So we grabbed menus and stepped aside. God forbid her customer get mad that were there to pay for seven meals. We really just wanted tacos. Upon viewing the menu we noticed they do not sell "a la cart" tacos. You have to purchase them as a meal. So I did. I asked if I could have a corn tortilla taco meal with flour tortillas. The lady said she would have to ask her dad. Most places ask if you want corn or flour and the price doesnt change. Apparently theirs does. You get 5 corn or 3 flour. Thats like charging more for white bread instead of wheat on the same sandwich. I said never mind Ill just take the corn. I purchased a taco meal, two kids meals and one soda bottle. My total was $30. Way too over priced for tacos. Especially considering when we got it home our to go boxes were covered in beans and tacos all slumped to one side. The 2 stars was for the food. It was decent. I recommend calling ahead for to go orders so you dont get in the way of any patrons who might, maybe, possibly be on their way up front to pay. You wouldnt want to make them mad by trying to give your business to this place.

First world problem I called and ordered as clearly and politely as I could, and when I arrived I realized that "2 cheese enchiladas" means 2 entire enchilada plates to the old lady. Its an odd buisness decision to take call in orders in the United States without anyone who knows english, but I dont really care about that its their choice, besides I can get by with a bit of spanish, BUT when I got there the old lady made a BIG ol deal about the misunderstanding as if Im trying to screw them some how as if I am at home thinking "let me just screw this small buisness place and order a plate I dont want and not pay for it when I get thete" Get real, then she starts talking all mad to the cook through the window about how Im rejecting the second plate then telling me that their plates dont come with 2 enchiladas so my order didnt make sense b**** I dont know the menu Im calling in and when I say 2 enchiladas with rice and beans thats exactly what I mean, the standard enchilada plate that everyone in the valley knows, and they couldnt get it right. Its a shame too because I love mexican food and even though the food is just decent for authentic, I probably would have ended up giving them alot of business now its all awkward. Anyway if you dont speak Spanish prepare yourself for the call, or just eat at padreritaville.

The food was really good. However they closed at 8 on the Thursday night that we ate there. (Party of 9) We arrived about 7:45 because we saw online that they closed at 9. Long story short the service wasnt that great. Ordered fajitas and had to wait almost 10 mins for the 1 GIANT flour tortilla I had to share with my girlfriend, because we ordered fajitas for 2. Youd think youd get more than 1 tortilla. Also we were disappointed they didnt have enough Dr. Pepper for our group. They had 2 cans I believe. With that said, we do assume responsibility in the fact that we arrived 15 mins before they closed, rendering them unprepared for a large group. (4 adults, 5 children)

Went for an early dinner based on great Google reviews and were disappointed. The ambiance is like a grade school cafeteria, chips and salsa are not included in the dine in option (yet a tip was still expected), and the meal was subpar. We ordered a plate of blackened fish tacos and a plate of blackened shrimp tacos. Both were submerged in cabbage which masked the flavor and also hid the little amount of seafood on each taco. I could see this being a good takeout place though...

Generous portions. Food was delicious. My daughter and niece both had the shrimp dinner. I had the mixed fajitas. Have to ask for the very hot sauces, the habanero was plenty hot, the other red jalapeno was rather mild. Service could have been a little better but they were very busy. 5 stars based on quality, taste and portion size of plates. Best place Ive visited all week, will definitely return next time in South Padre.

It is a small establishment, barely noticeable from across the street and no visible advertising sign on the road. The waitresses were very helpful, and the chef customized the food to our liking. The food itself was just perfect, layers of flavor and hot authentic Mexican sauces in case you want to add any heat to your food. Yet the meal was economical. I am definitely coming back here if I visit South Padre...

. This place had me sold with the past reviews and the cherry on this cake is that it is a family owned restaurant . Our table ordered fajita nachos . Fish tacos (super delish) . A big big ol monster fajita taco . And it all was 2 thumbs up ! Plus more . If you are looking for some authentic mexican food at a great price and super great portions you need to visit . The staff is helpful and friendly !

The resturant is small and hard to notice from the street. If you have a big appetite, this resturant is the place for you. They have generous portions, great service and you will most likely leave with a to go box. For the price and quality of the food. Definitely worth it and I say this is the best Mexican resturant on the Island and in the area. Definitely will come back here.
