Via Real has hit its groove...The competition is pretty decent around here, however they continue to hold their own. Things I really like about Via Real.. NO KIDS IN BAR AREA.. thats bad ass and they actually monitor it. Now we have a nice place for adults, where we can sit in the bar, drink and act like kids.. The seating area is also very comfortable and the interior wall is lined with eclectic decor, interesting touches through out the restaurant. Really cool combination of knick knacks and textured walls. All done very tastefully.. its kind of like you are hanging out and your eye catches something and you say, "Hey thats cool..." Food is good, solid and their fresh salsa is quite tasty. It varies in heat, which tells me they make this in house and based on the heat index of Jalos the spice changes - just like it should when you make it from scratch. I have had several dishes to date and most recently I had just simple green echiladas which were as good as I have had anywhere else. Also, ask about the Fire Steak. I can never remember the actual name of the filet that arrives flaming, but it is delicious! It is impossible to eat there without meeting the manager. That is really what makes a place tick.. IMO - get the owner in to check on everyone, as do the managers who all come up and say hello when we pop in. I think this will be a great success in our hood and has already become a favorite for us.

I took two of my business partners to Via Real for dinner last night (opentable). Last time we were there as a group (also opentable) the experience was much better. Last night, we asked for a slightly quieter are since we were going to talk. They put us next to a table of +20 with only 1 server in the room. He was very unimpressive (FAIL) so we asked for and were given different seating AFTER we had ordered. If we had the 2nd server (Marco) up front, experience may have been different. He went to other tables he served and actually took the special to the table to describe. Wish that had happened with us. We had served our dinner by the one server from the other room with the party. Then Marco took over. Food looked good and mine tasted good. One of our meals, person to my right, was definitely off. (when we left he took it with him to have his wife tell him if he was just being picky or if something wasnt actually wrong. He wound up throwing his entire meal in a dumpster in back of the restaurant because he KNEW it was no good and additional effort was not required.) Anyway, last night, two of our group (both ordered chicken breast in creme wine sauce) suffered very unpleasant gastric issues and previous to dinner we had all been fine. I give up. This is not a low $ establishment and I have absolutely no desire to return. Ever.

Lovely ambiance, excellent staff, forgettable food. We went in a group. I had assorted appetizers, tortilla soup, salmon, key lime pie. The staff was very helpful and good. The service was attentive without being annoying and thats hard to find. The appetizers were fine for the most part. The calamari was light and tasty, the stuffed jalapenos were good. The nachos were nicely assembled but bland. The tortilla soup seemed to have and tasted as if it had diced canned vegetables, the tortilla strips were added into the soup before being served instead of resting on top making them soggy, the chicken in the soup was okay. The salmon was cooked nicely however the accompanying asparagus was just the tops of the spears inserted into the mash flanked by giant tomato quarters. The key lime pie wasnt good in that it had a soggy crust and mediocre pie filling. I wish I had gone for the vanilla flan. It looked pretty good.

Absolutely the BEST lunch Ive had in a long time - my boss goes here all the time, and she treated me today. Both lunch specials were over-the-top incredible!! Atmosphere was elegant, upscale. Decided Im treating my sweetheart to Valentines here, and he went to Cordon Bleu Culinary school! BRAVO! UPDATE: Went for dinner Friday before Valentines. Very disappointed. The food was either overcooked (my salmon), or under cooked (scallop appetizer), and actually they forgot the appetizer, but they offered to comp us the dish if we still wanted it. Should have said no - because it was not very good. I guess being so busy, they just could not maintain their high standards. Such a pity. And a huge disappointment!!

Took my girlfriend to this restaurant for her birthday. The place was amazing, the location is very secluded in a shopping center, but in a corner where they created a very romantic ambiance. The staff was very friendly, and the owner of the restaurant comes to make sure that everyone is enjoying their food and having a great time. This will try to make special requests become a possibility. While we were eating, a married couple were celebrating their anniversary, and they were able to serve them their original wedding they had saved. Would recommend going there, expect to pay around $75-$100.

We had a reservation for a large group (20+) at 7 p.m. It is currently 9:25 and multiple people in our party have still not been served, approached, or even asked to take an order. When we approached the ONLY server about this, he was extremely upset at our party for bringing it up. I cannot fathom a self proclaimed high end restaurant, adjacent to the Four Seasons resort, treating a single customer this way, let alone multiple people. I can only guess that they are so successful that even a glass of water for somebody sitting in their restaurant for 2.5 hours is too much to ask.

Any Mexican would be insulted if not offended by this upscale place. The only thing Mexican about it are the ones cooking and serving (ahem.. not hosting or running the place as should ANY true Mexican restaurant should be.) Btw, there are no Mexicans actually eating there -- thats the first clue. Via Real -- get real... this aint Mexican food, maybe Southwestern contemporary with Dallas-Las Colinas flare. Putting a Mexican name on it doesnt make it Mexican. You are even better off going to Taco Bell -- at least they arent pretending to be something they arent.

First visit to Via Real. Recommended by a friend who eats here often and she was right on! Food was very good. Service was a tad slow for an upscale restaurant. But you have to consider how busy they were with several very large parties. Atmosphere was very nice, but loud. Again, they were super busy for a Wednesday night. I am a forever fan of the zucchini and yellow squash enchiladas. We came from Fort Worth to check it out. Well worth the drive. We have some great tex-mex places to eat in Fort Worth, but nothing as upscale as Via Real.

Primarily a haunt for the patrons of the near by Four Seasons and Country Club, this up markety Tex-Mex restaurant gets it right foot its clientele. A very wide spread on the menu which is surprisingly well done with a bustling ambience. Do not expect a quaint little place in Las Colinas. The lunch service is probably the busier time of the day where they serve a reduced menu. Dinners are a saner time with more action around the bar area. Id recommend going by in the evenings for an indulgence in the margaritas and the food.
