Went in around noon on a Saturday With my husband and kids. My husband had their burger with french fries, I had a chicken fajita salad and my two year old had the enchilada kids plate. The only thing decent was the lemonade and salad. The beans and enchilada tasted like lard. The rice that came with that plate wasnt the worst however it was very greasy. My husband Couldnt finish eating the burger from how old the meat tasted. I had to try it... Let me tell you, the cook mustve been having a bad day or mayve they need a new cook! We didnt want to make a big deal about it bcause afterall it wasnt the waitress fault however I did feel it was necessary to ask if we could switch from the burger meal to two plain tacos as my husband refused to eat. She grabbed the plate and said she had to ask management and walked away. She came back with the two tacos but said that the manager would Not remove the burger from our ticket because unfortunately half the burger was eaten. Explained to the waitress that before returning their burger we had to try it. Explained that I even had to taste it before returning and agreed that half of it was gone but before complaining my husband really wanted to see if he could like it. She said "she" understood me but that management said bc we ate half of it that it not acceptable. What poor and cheap management is running this facility??! Also, they made us feel like we were trying to " get out of paying" the $4.99 for their burger... Really??? I will not be returning. And how uncomfortable they made us feel by their response. So sad bc I Always order from this restaurant. I work close by too so how sad. My coworkers and I love how convenient this is. I for sure will be telling them of my experience today with my family and will never return.

It was late, we had been at the Conjunto Festival. We were exhausted and extremely hungry! Prior to finding Taqueria Jimidor, we had stopped at another northwest side restaurant, which we left because of the Karaoke which was so off the charts loud the International Space Station could listen in. When we opened the door at Taqueria Jimador we should have stopped, turned on our heels and just gone home! More Karaoke and caterwauling!!! Yikes. We went to a dining area the furtherest, with the most wall barriers, the tallest booths, from the source of the super sonic screeching. The chalupas were wonderful with a huge serving of guacamole and sour cream!!! Mmmm. Extreme Karaoke ensued. My man, in an effort to save his hearing made paper mufflers for his ears, which was a hoot and a half. This gesture on his part was both amusing and annoying if I wanted to talk to him. The two star rating reflects the ambiance of the eardrum melting Karaoke and not the food which was good.

Nice place but waitstaff is horrible. Everything was ok when we sat down. But after we got our food my father in law asked for more coffee. We waited and waited. But no one came. We tried to wave down waitstaff and they saw us and turned their heads and began talking to each other. When our waitress finally came with coffee I asked her why couldnt the other girls bring us coffee if we were asking them. Our waitress grind and said yes and that was it. I asked to speak to the manager and she NEVER came out. And when our waitress finally came out to check on us I asked where was the manager. She said she told her I wanted to speak to her, but she had to go to the bank. How convenient. Blow off your customers to go to the bank. Real professional ladies! The managers name is Roxanne. I didnt get the waitress name. All I wanted to express my feeling on how unprofessional those ladies were. Well probably never go back. If manager doesnt care, than neither do their employees. Go figure

Although I appreciate an adequate Mexican meal, I do not appreciate weak service with cold soup, and a lack of attention from the young wait staff. I was seated quickly, and was asked what drink I wanted. I was promptly brought my tea and a bowl of chips. This is where the service ended. I had to hail down a waitress to take my order after a long wait. Then an even longer wait to receive my food. The waitress never came to explain why so long. Then a different person brought the food. The soup was not hot nor luke warm. It was cold. Not once did the waitress come by to ask if we needed anything else or if the meal was good. And as usual you have to go to the counter to repeat your order to pay because they never bring you a ticket here. The owner / manager needs the proper skills to train his staff.

Slow to greet, then told to seat myself. Never received chips, even though everyone around me got some, plus refills. Food order came out quickly, about average in taste, nothing special. Waitress never returned, when to pay and cashier wanted me to pay $23, I told he it should be about half that amount, then she asked for $11.75 which also sounded like too much, when I asked for the receipt, she had to find someone that knew how to print one..... after looking at receipt I pointed out the prices were different in the menu, she acknowledged the error and handed me a dollar. Never apologized for mistake, I am assuming many people get caught in this same scam, charge more until you are caught. I do not plan on returning.

This was our first and last time. Service was horrible.we got our chips and drinks right away but after that the service went downhill. The waitress got lost and she wouldnt come back for a while. She was on the phone. The food was poor quality. Finally when we got our food it was cold and under cooked. And our waiter to so long to come back we had to ask for stuff from different staff that was passing by our table. Over all the food and service was horrible. The food looks good on the menu but when they bring it out to you its horrible. If you want a good Mexican restraunt this is not the place to be.

Long time SAT resident who has visited most of our local Mexican restaurants and my wife & I continually return to El Jimador for its quality of delicious foods & sea food ,love those grilled shrimp & homemade tortillas ,we have never been disappointed yet, food is generous & fairly priced. Only suggestion is that the waitresses be more alert in bringing out the receipts at the end of the meal & they have a tendency to disappear after you have been served. Otherwise estan muy buenos.

This restaurant has a great idea of what flavorful Mexican food should be. Everyone of their dishes I have tried from their beef taco, to cheese enchiladas have wonderful flavor. Their fajitas are excellent and for only 9.99 you get shrimp as well as beef along with all the trimmings. The value of their meals is very good since nothing is over 9.99 which would cost you $12-15 anywhere else. Service is great, decor is a bit outdated but that adds to the charm.
