I went today (Sunday) for the first time since the name changed from Sun Sun. Big Mistake. I chose the cashew chicken from the lunch special menu. My waiter asked is I wanted the dinner special, I answered that I wanted the lunch special. He left and brought my soup. The food arrived, and it looked just like the lunch special at any Chinese restaurant in town - everything on the same plate. Modest portion of the entrée, small portion of rice and a small egg roll. Food was not good, nothing was seasoned, and it was made from the generic brown sauce that (bad to mediocre) Chinese restaurants are notorious for. Lunch specials start at $6.99, so that was what I expected to pay. Wrong. When I got my bill it was over $12! When I asked my waiter about the price, he told me that I had gotten the dinner special which had "a lot of food". I told him that I asked for a lunch special, and what was on my plate resembled a lunch special - not a lot of food. He sent the manager over, who I had the pleasure of explaining the situation allover again to. She said that they did not have lunch specials on Sunday, and I had received the dinner special with "a lot more food". At this point I was tired of arguing, so I paid the overly priced bill and left. If you have considered going here, save your money and go to Panda Express for some decent Chinese food. This food was horrible, even for FREE. I will NEVER go back there.

What To Order: Orange Chicken, General Tsos Chicken, Sesame Chicken I was introduced to Tang Street by a friend of mine. I ordered the General Tsos Chicken on my first visit and the Orange Chicken on my 2nd visit. The fried chicken entrees are really good here, crispy and battered just right, not soggy with sauce. The sauces are amazing and sweet. Everything tastes fresh and appears to be prepared from scratch. Ive read other reviews and it seems the Sesame Chicken is popular as well. I can only assume for the same reason I like the dishes listed above. I have also read that they are BYOB, but have not verified this myself, but one reviewer did post a photo of a BYOB sign. Call and verify this if this is something your interested in. Service is good at Tang Street, its been quiet inside both times I visited, the location is a bit hidden, and never seems to be overly busy. Prices are fair but on the upper end of entree prices, barely priced under $10. You might want to try coming for lunch if youve never eaten heere before. Most of the popular items are offered on the Lunch Plates for $6.99. I will be returning to try some more items, as everything has been great sp far. ** Closed On Tuesdays **

We tried Tang Street, and truth be told, it was farily good. Not the best, but fairly good. We tried the Hunan beef (I believe this is one of their specialties) and the Szechuan beef. Both had plenty of food at a good price and came with fried rice. The fried rice was a bit different than most, but not in a bad way. It was tasty. The actual main dishes could have used a bit better cuts/quality of meat and/or meat more finely chopped (amazing the difference in tenderness between a piece that is 1/2 inch wide from one that is 2 or 3 inches wide). The flavors however were delicious, and we both preferred the more complex flavor of the Hunan beef more. In short, Tang Street is where I would go for Chinese if I was in the area, and its better than a large number of other Chinese restaurants in town. I still prefer Sichuan Cuisine though.

I have visited this location twice now. The first time was many years ago. Initially, I was never impressed, but my latest visit has truly set this distaste into stone. I came with my wife, and we ordered orange chicken and the Mongolian beef dish, if I correctly recall. I do not understand those who praise this restaurant. The meat is so fatty, it tastes like I am eating Menudo from Eddies Taco House. Wtf?! Look, Im not pleased. Im a frequent visitor and there are plenty of other places in the area to include Beijing Express, Pho Cong Ly, and Thai Dee not too far away. Do not bring your girl here. The lacking quality wont get you laid }:((

Best sesame chicken I have had anywhere. I was about to give up on finding really good Chinese food in San Antonio before I tried this place. Im so happy to finally have truly delicious option when I want Chinese. If you are looking for more than just American Chinese food, then you are in luck as well. It may sound cliche, but there is a reason this place is always packed with Asian families; it has a huge selection of authentic dishes as well.

Paid a visit to this restaurant BECAUSE of the previous reviews speaking so highly of the quality of the food here. Let me tell you.. my family and I are so disappointed! Had high hopes. Everything was bland. We order General Tso chicken & Sesame chicken. Bleh. The fried rice was unpleasant as well, no taste whatsoever :( wont be coming here again. Not worth it imo. Only reason I gave this place two stars is because, food filled us up. Thats it.

On any given day, youll find this place full with Asian families having lunch or dinner....that alone says a lot for a Chinese food establishment. Their menu selection exceeds everyones elses in town. This is exactly what Chinese food taste like...Ive been to N.Y, L.A and Houstons china towns and Tangs is right there people. The owners are wonderful people and their staff is very nice. I strongly recommend this place for its food and service.

Order online for doordash (since Im into new food). I was very excited for it and guess what so much flavors and these reviews are ridiculous because trust me the best place Ive found for Chinese food (in the north side, since every place is about hustling you out) and even took my love here and boy, he loved it. Will be returning soon. Keep it up guys and the waiter was very excellent on keeping up on everyone the night me and my love came.

Others have rated this place highly, but if you know what good Chinese tastes like, this isnt it. The Kung Pao dish I ordered was mediocre, and the wonton soup was just gross. Dont know whats wrong with Chinese restaurants in this town, but Ive not found a good one since coming here, and this place keeps to that standard. Pass on this one.

Great chinese restaurant! Its hidden in a shopping center so you can miss it of you dont pay attention. I love their sesame chicken. The chicken is so incredibly crispy and the sauce is deliciously sweet! Please give this place a shot...you will not be dissapointed!

Tang St filled my need for shredded pork and eggplant in a spicy garlic sauce. This is the true test of good Chinese food for me and really reminds me of my 6 weeks in northern china. It was delicious and fast. I cant wait to go back and remember more foods.

The cheese rolls are pretty bomb. Not as good as bangcock 54 thai cuisine off nacodoches. If u havent tried that place go there first. Authentic and best asian food in San Antonio. Hunt me down if im wrong (;
