Thefountain drink was terrible order a drpepper flat taste it taste like they dont clean the machine and mildew build up or stuck inside and when they serve you a drink u get that taste so instead I ask for a tea food looks like it comes out of Campbells soup taking outa the can it taste horrible no flavor looks like vomit I tried one time and thats all it took to say no more the rice looks plain no flavor I seen other peoples plate and it look the same as mines they just throw the extra stuff in it so I decided to leave the restaurant I told the China man I guess hes the manager told him the food wasnt good I mean I am paying outa pocket I have gotten the Kung pao chicken dinner comes with fried rice and order cheese puffs I only ate the cheese puffs they where OK so got to the counter to pay supposedly I told him about the food he was mad because I had pick on the food I told him that I had only ate the cheese puffs and drank the tea he keep on bragging about the food that I pick at it he was throwing a fit finally he got tab he only said pay for the tea I would recommend people to stay away from that place u can get food poisoning or stomach virus.

Food is great, but had the "old Lady" as the waitress, sorry but she need more people skills, her section was not even busy, took forever to take our order, then brings my soup, with some of it spilled on the bottom plate and on the crispy noodles: she needs to use a tray, brought us our plates, with her thumb in our rice...GROSS, she is too old, I dont think she can handle a tray... When asked for a tea refill, she seemed shocked when I got her attention walking by, instead of her checking her sections of tables to see what others my need..also asked for a plate to go, it took more effort from her to complete the task... I wonder if manager know what is is really like to the clients to have her be so dismissive... I am moving next time away from her and get a younger girl...WHO CAN HANDLE A TRAY!

**HORRIBLE SERVICE!!** SOME OLD HAG THATS "WORKED THEIR FOR 40 YRS" SO SHE SAID. WAS SOO RUDE!! LAUGHED AT WHAT I WAS ORDERING AND SAID I COULD MAKE IT AT HOME. SHE EVEN LAUGHED WITH THE MANAGER THERE AT MY EXPENSE. IVE BEEN HERE MANY MANY TIMES BC ITS OPEN 24 HRS BUT EVERY SINGLE TIME IVE TRIED SOMETHING NEW AND ALWAYS LET DOWN. THIS WILL DEF BE MY LAST TIME GOING THERE!! HORRIBLE FOOD, HORRIBLE SERVICE!! This is a combo Chinese/Mexican restaurant. I ordered shrimp fried rice, egg rolls and small order (5 pcs) is sweet and sour pork. The shrimp fried rice was good, rice had a taste I could not distinguish; The egg rolls were not good, metallic taste; The sweet and sour pork did not come mixed and had no flavor. Price was not what I expected - have eaten here before, knew what to expect but the check was two dollars more than expected. I went for the shrimp and received what I expected, will go back when in a hurry and passing through Via Centro on the Primo 100.

Dont let the part of town fool you. This place has the best fried fish served with brown gravy and French fries . We used to come here when we were kids and I still enjoy going to Golden Star Café when Im in San Antonio, Texas. I presently live in Austin, Texas. I love this place, excellent food, awesome décor and the best customer service.... Its a small place with beautiful Asian décor ... its not a big restaurant .. You dont go to a small restaurant and expect fancy fancy. The place is small and good food.

Its difficult to trust other ppls comments. A place where Mexican/Chinese are the choice should always be looked as a bad combination. 1. In less than 5 minutes my order was ready? Really in a place that was 3/4 packed... wonder what ppl ordered (maybe it was fried fish...) 2. Less than 10 minutes later, my bill arrived. Guess my full dish was an indication that I was ready to leave.

Let me start with saying that this place WAS good. How are you going to start using ketchup or BBQ sauce on the General plate????? CMON either someone poured a bucket of sugar in that sauce or just admit yall use ketchup seriously. This "spicy" plate was far from that. Very very disappointed. Its one of my favorite Chinese plates.. for a CHINESE restaurant its long gone off the path.

Im reading these five-star reviews and wondering if there any sane people left in Texas. I went here because there were so many positive reviews. Quite possibly the worst meal Ive ever had, and certainly the worst Ive had in a full two weeks in San Antonio. For any of you who have actually eaten good food, please do not go to this restaurant. Yes, its that bad.

Love the food been coming here for years but service is HORRIBLE. Our waitress ericka literally had us wait almost 10 minutes to serve us out drinks while she talked at the register about her personal life so loud I could hear her from our table. The cooks in the back and another waitress had to call her to grab plates and tend to our table.

Small plates for dinner it came with no egg roll or soup. The tea was $2.79 and they charge for soda refills. Food was good but expensive $35 for 2 dinner plates on each plate was 7 small piece of lemon chicken and an scoop of rice..... and 3 teas and a large soup and a cheese burger

Horriable waiting staff. A women was waiting on us but the food was cold, but at the end of the night she tried to tip her self $20 from my brothers credit card. Never eating here again! But if you do go, pay cash and exact change.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl. Seriously the best chop suey and chicken with broccoli you can get in San Antonio! Im not a fan of seafood, but my family loves their fish and gravy. Must try this place!
