This is a very chill spot with really good coffee (served with animal crackers), food, alcohol and drinks. The food selection is not huge, but its certainly interesting. They usually have a special of the day, or at least they used to. They also sell cigars and cigarettes and allowing smoking on the patio. The Long Island Ice Coffee gets the job done and weekend brunch is fantastic! I used to frequent this place when I was in grad school. Its a great place to study... during the day. At night they sometimes have bands or other musical performances which can get pretty loud and kinda packed. There is plenty of seating, inside and out, but tables with outlet access for laptops are limited. They also have an assortment of board games, which Ive never played so not sure what they have. This place is perfect for a casual first date where you can have an opportunity to talk to someone and actually be able to hear them. And since its right along the River Walk (I think), you can always hop on the trail for a scenic stroll to first base. As can be expected from this area, Its kinda hipster, if thats your thing, but not overly, if thats not your cup of coffee. Ive really seen all types of people come in and out of this place, so come as you are. I certainly do, and I wouldnt exactly pass for a hipster. Definitely worth a visit if youre in the area!

Id describe this as a trendy, hipster, hangout. The crowd it attracts is the younger high school and college crowd. As a coffee/bar they have a menu and full bar that can create a wide variety of drinks. Its like Starbucks with a bar. This was my 2nd visit to the location, both times accompanying a friend who likes the spot. In addition to coffee and mixed drinks they also have a limited food menu with breakfast until 11am and sandwiches and salads the rest of the day. On my 2nd visit I asked for a drink I used to get up in Colorado while snowboarding, it was a hot chocolate with Chambord raspberry liquor. Even as expensive as ski resorts are, this place was more expensive. My liquored up hot chocolate came out to be $15 after tip. The hot chocolate was ok, but at $5 alone I wouldnt say amazing. The drink was just lacking something. The hot chocolate was steamed, served in a cup and saucer, and garnished with some small animal crackers. I was more impressed by the presentation than the product. If your really into coffee, or like to hang out and read a book while sipping on a drink of some kind this place might be for you..

Trendy urban coffee shop atmosphere, but they also have a good menu, beer, wine, cocktails and cigars. Local artwork for sale on all the walls and there are couches, tables and a bar for seating. The happy hour specials are worth it, and the food is great though it seems a little over-priced. There is an outdoor deck seating area overlooking the river-walk (and the parking lot). Super popular with artsy types, millenials, gen-xers, and folks stopping in from biking/running/walking along the river. If you want a great draft beer selection, you can bring over a pint from Stella which connected.

Since Halcyon opened I have spent almost every Tuesday morning, until afternoon, on the deck. Thru the road work ordeal, rain, shine, hot as Hades, cold as a witchs tee shirt. I wrote countless papers & care plans, studied for my exams. This place really was an oasis where I could focus my thoughts and work or study in peace. Today I passed my last final. I want to thank the staff for being wonderful - especially John. LOVE Halcyon!!!!!! p.s. the coffee & pastries are also very good!

Had a great experience both times I went.very industrial feel on the inside, sells work for local artists. The day time offers great breakfast options. The coffee is great no matter the time of day, all the coffee items are fresh made. Budget friendly. The night time offers good atmosphere and a good selection of alcohol. Doesnt feel like a bar, more like a lax hang out. There are even board games by the entrance. If I had to put it in a few words, best friends basement.

SCAM ALERT. This bar tender charged my credit card $173 for a few drinks. When I called Seth, the manager, who was not there, told me I drank 15 Martinis at $9 each (this equals$135) . I am not sure what is going on over there but they made 3 separate charges on my credit card (totaling $208) and refused to work this out to any reasonable solution. Seth told me he didnt care if I had been coming there for years. I was always a good tipper and good customer.

Its the bees knees! Good food, great atmosphere, friendly staff. Ive been in the food industry and unfortunately Im one of those guys that asks is this good? What do you like? They answer every time with a friendly honest answer. A lot of places the staff hate it when you ask questions like that. I get it, its annoying, just pick something. Sorry. I just gotta be me! This place is awesome! Did I mention they have couches you can eat at? Comfy!

We have a Halcyon in ATX, so when I saw they had one in SA, I had to stop in. My go to here is the Thai Iced Tea coffee. I usually get it boozed up, but when we came in, their bar was not yet open, which was a shame. I liked the open and contemporary décor/layout here and the location is great! Would definitely come back the next time I am in this part of SA and try some of their food offerings as well as their non-caffeinated libations.

Used to come here all the time. Used to be great. I came in today after not coming for a few months. My usual order of two grilled cheeses and two smoothies went from 23 dollars to 34. My smoothies were warm. The grilled cheeses were only toasted on one side and the salad got replaced with a not so great tomato basil soup that I wasnt even told I was getting. The only positive thing I have to say is that the customer service was good.

First and last spot I stopped in San Antonio. While i lived here Halcyon was the closest to my Cali lifestyle that I was missing. Except for it also came with yummy coffee refills and animal crackers for days. And a seriously dangerous mac n cheese that Im dreaming about even now as i write this review from four states away. Sometimes the wifi gets bogged down, making it a bit unreliable as a work-from-home office option. Miss yall!

Went to Stella which is in the same building. Enjoyed lamb meatballs, a prosciutto and arugula pizza, mushroom Mac n cheese, an El Hefe from No Label Brewing Company, and a prickly pear cocktail. Then went over to Halcyon and enjoyed a KC Tea. Perfect blend of cognac, Sprite, and lemon juice. Could work on their cigar selection though. Its definitley not a Club Humidor, but it was nice to see what they offered.

Halcyon is a relaxed place to get whatever fix you need - they have coffee, alcohol, and food. The are regularly running happy hour promotions for drinks and apps. There is a little bit of outdoor seating that overlooks the parking lot. The people working always seem to be enjoying themselves, and that lighthearted feeling radiates throughout the shop. The Thai iced coffee is worth a try!
