This was my first experience at Edo Japan. We went there to celebrate a birthday with hibachi dinner....which they have...but you dont get to watch them make it. There are no hibachi tables in the restaurant. This was a let down since their prices are just as expensive (if not more expensive) than all the other hibachi/sushi restaurants in the area...but on a positive note, the service was delightful and friendly and the food was yummy. Also, since I had researched them ahead of time, it was apparent their website has not been updated in a long while...pictures and menu are not current. So my review is on the lower side since their website did not reflect their changes...especially in eliminating their hibachi station tables.

What a terrific spot. Very nice atmosphere, very chic. The booths are private and the interior is very trendy. We had California rolls which were good and then we had to special order an Alaskan roll as it was not on the menu. The salmon was melt in your mouth quality, outstanding. Prices are pretty standard in the area for the food, but we were there during happy hour. The nice surprise is that cold unfiltered sake is only $10 a bottle where other places in Rockwall charge up to $18 for the same stuff. premium cocktails were just $5.00. I had two cucumber martinis which were simply awesome. Great presentation all the way around and we will be going back.

Went to Edo Japan for dinner and drinks last night with some friends (6 of us total). Service was good, but when the checks came they had added a 20% gratuity to all of our checks. I usually tip very well but not when it is automatically added without notice. When we brought this to our waitresses attention she told us it said on the menu they add gratuity to parties of 6 or more. After she failed to show us where it said that in the menu she agreed to take it off. Also their $3.50 happy hour well whiskey ended up being $4.00 because I wanted it with coke. Will not be going back.

My favorite sushi place. The atmosphere is so nice. Seating can vary from "shared booths", single tables, big bench table areas and even private booths (high walls between sets of booths). We go here for all festive occasions; date night, birthday celebration, anniversary, you name it. Food is always fresh and delicious. Amazing happy hour specials even on the weekend! Wait staff will even notify you prior to the end happy hour so you can grab one more drink! LOVE IT! Never walked away upset with my meal or evening, nor have I walked away without needing to loosen my pants! :)

Began with the cucumber salad- it was crisp and light with perfect texture. Had the tuna takai, eel, yellow tail pieces of sushi, tuna sashami- all prepared fresh to order. The rolls were good too- Had the soft shell crab tempura style and then splurged on the lobster with salmon roe. Wasabi was fresh and the bakery was an amazing find- so many fresh cookies. We tried raspberry, salted caramel and lemon. It is right off of 1-30 and the parking was accessible- easy on and off.

Very nice and quiet place to dine. Very clean. UPDATE: As a traveling man, I dont get to try a place twice very often. Upon my second visit I have to say... This place is awesome. I enjoyed a Steak Bento Box for dinner on a Saturday night...busy busy busy, but Edo Japan was very well staffed and my dinner came out in minutes. Rockwall, you are really lucky to have Edo Japan, see for yourself. (Dallas-worth the drive).

Never would I step foot in this place again!! I walked in with a party of three and was told to wait for a table to be wiped off. It so happens that two parties show up right after me and were seated immediately. No reservations just straight walk ins. One party even had 6 ppl but yet they were seated immediately. If you are looking for a good place go to Edohana as this place doesnt even deserve 1 star!!

Love this place!! Customer service is AMAZING!! My husband and I are over the road truck drivers and every time we come into town we park at the truck stop and walk over. We didnt have to dine in so we placed an order for pickup. When my husband went to get the food, one of the waiters helped him carry the food back to the truck. Thank you so much for your help!!

Who says truck drivers cant eat good food? This wonderful restaurant is right next to a truck stop and well worth the few minutes to walk there. The service was excellent and the food was so good we had to take some to go so we could continue enjoying it later. I recommend this delightful establishment to all who pass by Rockwall, TX. You wont be disappointed.

Disappointing. Dont base your decision to eat here by looking at the online menu. They do not serve desserts other than ice cream. The hibachi meal for 2 isnt available. The staff is nice and friendly and our waitress was very personable. Prices were within reason to similar restaurants. The food that we ordered was too salty, almost sickeningly salty.

I love love this place. The staff recognize us everytime we come in and make us feel like we arent just another customer. The sushi is always great and not bad pricing. It is a bit on the expensive side but its worth it. Great options for non sushi eaters so bring everyone. Plus the place just looks cool from the booths to the bathroom

Delicious and cute! We didnt expect much from it because of its strip-mall location- but were thoroughly delighted by how urban and contemporary it is on the inside. And the food is wonderful!! The only complaint I have is that the food seems to take a long time to come out (but perhaps that is because it is a new restaurant.)

Im gluten free and always feel like a pain when Im asking for menu help or substitutions, but our server was AMAZING!! He took his time with us, made sure the order went in correctly and was very helpful. Our rolls were great, drinks were cheap and we appreciated the manager coming to check on us.

Ive been going to edohana for a while and its GREAT so I went to edo Japan for my first time to see what it was and it was awful. Its way to expensive for the quality of the food. The service and the atmosphere was nice. But again it wasnt worth it. Its more of a bar then a Japanese restraunt.

The first two bowls were dirty. The bar area needed cleaning too. I asked for the manager and the waitress said she was the manager while he was away. Service was slow. Atmosphere nice but music loud. Sushi was adequate for Happy Hour....too expensive if sitting at table paying full price.

Food was ok. My New York steak was more like a sirloin but the fried rice was awesome. Service was slow and the bartender called me rude for trying to get his attention after sitting there for 5 mins watching him talk to the only other customer at the bar.

Love the sushi and the great customer service. I can always count on seeing Yin and Helen, the two greatest waitresses ever. I just recently went for my bday and had a really awesome time. The best sushi in Rockwall and the surrounding areas!
