This incident happened on "08-02-2015" evening around 8pm ..... This is my 4th visit to this restaurant with my family ..... they dont have a lot of items, but whatever they have is delicious ..... now the main reason for rating it this low. 1. The owner which is a "LADY in Churidar (Indian Attire)" really makes you feel uncomfortable by peeping deep inside your plates when youre eating. She comes and analyses how much everyone is eating. It looks really cheap and awkward. Its a damn buffet. Get Lost. She does the same thing, even when you go to the buffet lineup to fill up your plate. This peeping thing we noticed since our first visit and lasted every time we visited. 2. She comes and asks next, didnt my son (6 yrs old) liked the "Spinach Curry" and my wife tells her "NO" .... she then tells her that we need to take a lil sample first to see if the kids like it or not. ***** All hell broke loose, my wife gave here a nice piece of her mind ****** she then apologized and said SORRY to my wife. Whats the FCKN point..... its a BUFFET, Im not there to sniff and Im paying for what Im taking in my plates....... AND THEN WE DECIDED THIS IS OUR LAST VISIT TO THIS RESTAURANT, GOODBYE ....... THANKS FOR YOUR BELOW CHEAP HOSPITALITY ...... never seen such a cheap lady in my whole life....... !!!!

The food was ok. The Saag Paneer had hardly any Paneer and the Saag itself tasted overcooked. Their chikcen Malai tikka Kebabs tasted quite good. Tandoori chicken, like all the other Indian restaurants Ive tried didnt taste as good as anything you get back in India. Naans were a bit rubbery. Nothing that special and definitely not worth over $10. Staff were polite. Easy to Park. They had something that looked like Chicken Tikka Masala, but it was just called chicken Masala. Honestly, my mom could have done a better job. Whats the point of going to restaurants to eat if you can get better stuff at home..I guess Im being hard on this place because Im Indian and have certain standards of expectation. Nevertheless the food wasnt that bad nor the best. At least the restaurant seemed hygienic although the ambiance was quite dull.

I was there for Lunch Buffet today.. Would Not Recommend. I know Indian food and this is not it. Presentation is decent, but No Taste. You can get better appetizers in Frozen Section of your store. Main course, good variety but tasteless. I was surprised to see 15-17 people on Friday for lunch. I guess there is no other Indian restaurant around thats why they were there, like me. Anyways I am not going back. Will let you Indian food lovers know if I come across a good place. Please dont judge Indian food with what you get at Mumtaz. For those who have LOVED the food, trust me, you have had nothing yet. Sorry to Mumtazs owner, but you should change your cook or get help.

Nothing special to write about this place. Food is ok. The buffet and a la carte are both served. Buffet has nothing special. Sometimes you may feel that buffet dishes are a bit cold and lying for quite some time. Food quality is ok. But it is near to my place so when we are craving for an indian food and want buffet this is the only place that serve dinner buffet and at a reasonable price. The best thing is the people working here. They are polite and service is fast. They talk nicely.

wish i could give rating less than 1 star..This place is not for family gatherings especially if you have little kids.We went to this place with my 10 month baby..She was enjoying her time playing, making noises ,Manager or owner i dont know who that man was..He came and said sarcastically to feed baby as her noise will make his customers go away..What a rude man and his unacceptable behavior..I am never going back to that place again and m surely not recommending this place at all..

Went to Mumtaz at 2:15, which was 15 minutes before the buffet was going to close. They had a good variety of curries. The chicken tikka masala was flavorful. Not as spicy as Id like it but it was flavorful. The spinach paneer was good also. The gulab jamun (an Indian dessert) was good. This is the one place that makes it well. The one pleasant surprise I had was they brought a chilled glass for the beer I ordered (bout $3.50). The price for the buffet is very reasonable.

On our recent vacation, friends from Dallas who know our love of Indian food told us this was the place. They werent wrong!! Being a simple buffet, you just get to go fill your plate as many times as you like. We enjoyed getting to try a bit of every flavor and fill our hearts and bellies with traditional flavors we love. Our children enjoyed the food as well and we found it not overly spiced (or well marked what was too spicy for our son). Wish we had one close to home!

I have had Indian, food before, and It wasnt as spicy. The food here was spicier than I thought, and I can honestly say, I was having stomach pain and stomach cramps, and this morning those pains and cramps have ceased and my stomach feels clean. I love spices, and I rather spices over adding meat. Right after I ate the food, i purchase yesterday, I felt a difference in my stomach, the food here is great I forgot to mention this on a previous review. Great, clean food.

Mumtaz Indian Restaurant catered food for my daughters reception on April 6, 2013. Food and service were excellent . Kulwinder( Owner ) delivered everything per his promise. His staff was courteous and very co-operative . They cooked fresh naans on the site and provided all the varieties we are asked for.Even prices were very reasonable They have done execellent job and I will not hesitate to recommend them to anybody who is looking for food catering .

If you like your food sick, they have set a new record for H.O.T. in the metroplex. I like my food a lot hotter than most. The Maximilian in most places is a. Arbitrary measurement of 5. Thats what I order. Then I add more. Here they go to 5, Indian Hot -- and Extreme. I ordered Extreme once. My have was red and I was dripping sweat off my head into a puddle in my lap. It was excellent. Not for the faint of heart (or mouth) We love this place!

We just left the restaurant happy and full. We got lucky. ..Sunday & Monday is buffet so we got to try everything. Very friendly server and the manager was to. My wife and daughter thought the chicken tikka masala was too hot so they offered to make a non spicey version which they loved. Great food. When we got the bill it was $27 for the four of us and three drinks. We all double checked! We were all very satisfied.
