Love this place!!! Everything about this place is top of the line. The employees, the food, the cleanliness are all great. I really like that this place is family owned and that they make everything but the mustard and ketchup in house. I had the Escabeche burger and it was fantastic. It had plenty of flavor but honestly wasnt over-bearing hot either like I sort of expected. The chipotle mayo has some kick (maybe more than the jalapenos). The bread was fresh as well as the veggies. The patty was thick and plenty big enough for two people. My husband ordered the chicken fried burger which is what everyone else raved about and I now know why. It was delicious. It was perfectly fried and smothered in some of the best gravy. The crispiness of the crust paired with the soft bun was incredible. Our friend had the patty melt which also looked incredible. We tried a couple of the stuffed jalapenos and they were tasty and definitely had that spicy kick I look for in jalapenos. The mozzarella sticks were pretty ordinary but tasty. We loved the fried pickles. The onion strings were good and salty and the fries were thick cut Kennebec. Let me just continue to say everything was wonderful. However, we ordered entirely too much food for 4 people. hehe. Try it all but go on different visits. I have yet to taste anything from here that isnt wonderful. The servers are very friendly and I honestly hope to go back soon.

2nd visit: Turned to disappointment. I was told they changed the fries. The fries looked good but are not crispy like last visit. Also, only real complaint (both visits) is with the ketchup dispenser. Be careful if its low, it spurts ketchup and both times now Ive gotten ketchup splattered on my shirt . Original visit: This falls into the category "Cant have too many great burger joints". Hit them Friday eve and they are close to full. Lots of families and couples - everyone seem to enjoy the environment. I ordered the special "Reuben Burger" and side of fries. All the burgers are the same size. There is a decent selection of Burger choices to meet most anyone taste. I also saw some other Sandwiches & Salad menu items that are worthy of my next trip(s). Burger was juicy and tasty but great job on fries - big bowl, nice 1/2" steak fries and "crispy" (maybe double fried?). Helpful & friendly staff. I will return. Prices are in-line with the upscale burger joints. Went for the burger - will probably return for the fries.

I was really looking forward to this place based on the previous reviews and the fact that I love a good burger. I ordered the haystack burger with mozz. Sticks. Yes the prices were on the high side but thinking I was going to get a premium burger like other premium burger establishments I was OK with that (from Oklahoma so Im familiar with places like smash burger and rhetoric garage). Unfortunately the burger was not good. The pattie was not seasoned, dry and overcooked and the BBQ sauce was more like a chunky salsa and not bbq. I left after three bites :/ the mozz sticks came out luke warm. They also did not have sweet tea...a burger joint in Texas that does not have sweet tea?...didnt know that was a thing. On the plus side the staff did seem very friendly. At the end of the day though I paid nearly 20 bucks for a cheese burger I refused to eat, cold mozzarella sticks and a lemonade. ...next time in Dallas Ill head to in and out.

Visited Haystack Burgers during lunch time on a Thursday. It was not too crowded, with just a short line to order. The place looks very clean and sparse with lots of wood and metal. It has a dining area with several tables and a small patio area. Ordered the "Haystack Burger" medium rare and a drink. The burger was brought to my table after about 7-8 minutes as it is made fresh after ordering. It is a large and very juicy burger with plenty of gooey melted cheddar and BBQ sauce making very messy to eat. Fortunately, the bun was up to the task and held up well against all the sauce and juice. The BBQ sauce was very sweet, but tasty. There was plenty of fried onions, bacon, lettuce and tomato such that it was a well balanced burger with no one component dominating. Overall one of the better burgers available in the area and I plan on returning to try more of their selections.

We had eight people show up for lunch at Haystack on Sunday, just before the church crowd. The service, accommodation and food were all excellent. They created seating for us all, took our orders and had the food back tot he table in short order. The food was cooked well to order, spiced well and presented well. The portions were generous and filling. I had the Haystack Burger and another in our party had the Portobello Mushroom Salad. These were super tasty. When asking others in our party what they thought of the food every thumb was up. Even the Grill Cheese Sandwich got a rave review. The fries were cooked and spiced well without being too greasy. Over all, a well-organized restaurant serving excellent food in a clean and inviting atmosphere.

Haystack is one of the few unique and local food places on my shortlist for where I take out-of-towners. It is consistently excellent. The details are what make it good, like the how well the buns are toasted and how the appetizers dont feel like theyre just churned out. Burger joints tend to be pretty heavy-handed with sauces and cheese but the burgers taste balanced and some thought has gone into making all the different combos. The beer selection is also great. I dont really care about service with food places, but the service feels friendly and familiar. The owners are often there and are super personable. I usually get the haystack burger, but my friends like the melt and chicken fried burger. The portobello salad is also surprisingly good!

Buns were so soft and so was the black bean Patty. You can sub any burger with the black bean for all you vegetarians. I had the barn burger and added jalapeño peppers. Tasted mighty good. Did not feel chewy and melted in mouth. Added jalapeño and tasted great. The fries were seasoned and tasted good as well. One order of fries is good for two people. One order of burger is just perfect. Coming back for sure. --------------- So 12mo ago I came here and didnt give them the 5th star because of no NFC/mobile payments, but lo and behold they have it now, so here is your 5th star. The black bean patty is so soft and so is bun. Loved every bit of it. The manager was very friendly. They happily clean up after you. Good people, good food!

Great Food, Friendly People, Great Local Beer Selection...... We realized without intent that this had become our go to date night spot. Casual Atmosphere, Fantastic Food, and a Wonderful selection of Craft Beers. I recommend getting a flight of beers at it will allow you to taste 4 different (smaller) beers. My wife and I split the flight and get to try 2 beers each. I consider myself a burger snob, and I love this place. We have been at least 20 times and have never been disappointed. We live within a 5 minute walk to another raved about burger joint and always get in the car to drive here for a better burger and fries. Try it, you wont be disappointed.
