This is a quaint little place that I first heard about on the DD&D show. Guy raved about it. I finally had the chance to check it out a week ago. The place gets packed early. We arrived at about 11:40 and there was only one parking space available. There arent many tables inside, but they do turn them quickly. They ask that you dont sit until you have ordered and paid. This allows the folks eating to finish and vacate. From the time we ordered until we were out the door was about 25 minutes. At 12:10 the line was out the door which sucks when it is 103 outside. ;-) I had a cheeseburger with bacon and grilled jalapenos and fries. My friend had a cheeseburger with bacon and the onion rings. The best things were the onion rings, bacon and the grilled jalapenos. The french fries were mediocre at best. I would say that most fast food joints have better fries. The burger itself was pretty good, but nothing too spectacular. One of the other reviewers mentioned inconsistency. Perhaps I went on an off day. If I am going to the downtown area, I would hit my favorite place on Commerce. All in all, it is a good burger (made better with the really good bacon and grilled jalapenos), great onion rings, and good quick service. It is worth checking out.

Ok. I have heard many great things and heard everyone rave about this place. I was very disappointed. First, Id like to say that I work shift work (2p.m.-10p.m.) and every night we have someone run and grab food for those that did not bring food. The choice this evening was Maple and Motor. Like I said, everyone went on about how great it is. When we got all orders together (tonight there were only 5) it was 4pm and we called the order in at 430 pm for a pick up at 445pm. We do this so we can beat the crowds and be less of a nuisance. When I called to place the separate orders I was told that I would have to place the first order and then call back and then place the next one and repeat that process until all orders were in. This is not usually the norm with ANY other venue that we grab dinner from and normally there are 10-15 orders. Upon the second call I asked to speak to a manager and was told that yes this is their policy but that since there was no line she would let me place the other orders with having to call back. Second, I like buttered bread but this was just soggy and greasy and the meat was salty. I did enjoy my onion rings though. They were delicious but I fear that you have lost my business.

There are a couple of things that make Maple & Motor stand out as one of the areas best burger joints. I love their burgers because they are JUICY - - - when you order, they ask if you want it "pink" or "not pink." (Their "pink" burgers arent quite Med Rare, as I prefer, but nicely pink and super juicy... Lately, Ive had several local restaurants refuse to cook mine Med Rare... So pink and juicy is awesome! ) Another standout here is there crispy tator tots! So good... Along the lines of a guilty pleasure of you get the add-ons they offer (cheese, jalapeños, bacon, ranch on side). Weve gotten the cheddar tots with ranch in the side and they cook them slightly crunchy, as i like then. They do not have a veggie burger, per se, but you can order a grilled cheese off the menu. Several cheese options. One last comment is regarding the space (or lack thereof).... Its a very small place. We often get our order as take-out.... And since there isnt much room, the line of people waiting for their food just seems crazily in the way of everything. Regardless, the food makes it worth any (ever-so-slight) inconvenience.

I guess good reviews and good burgers means you dont have to have good customer service. A friend recommended this place so I thought I would try it. I called in my order - burger and fries - for pickup. The man on the phone, who I found out is the owner, asked me first if I wanted cheese. I replied no. He then asked if I wanted it pink or no pink. I replied pink, then clarified that I wanted it pink like medium but not rare. (After all, Id never eaten at this place and didnt know what to expect.) He promptly replied, "I ASKED you if you wanted it PINK or NO PINK", I was a little set back at his rudeness and replied, "Wow, you are about to lose my order". His reply was, "Okay, bye" and he hung up. Although I dont ever plan to visit this place now, maybe the owner will at least improve his customer service. (I actually called back and asked if he was the owner or manager and he told me owner. Because I could not go to a manager about this rude behavior, I told him I would leave a review. His reply was "Do what you gotta do". So, here it is.

In spite of having just opened, already this finely-tuned burger joint is hopping with customers. Not hard to believe, with saliva-inducing choices like the inch-thick Fried Bologna Sandwich, BLT, chicken sandwich, and their sinful-but-not-sopping hamburgers, all paired with savory chili or any of their perfectly fried tots, french fries, and exquisite, beer-battered onion rings. Then throw in the limited-time offer of a free small glass of draft beer -- until the liquor license comes through, that is, and likely only $1 for a half-glass of beer thereafter ($2 for a full.) The owner, Jack, relates all of the past years painstaking detail of choosing the best recipes for each item on the menu, even going so far as having taste-tested over 40 ketchup brands like fine wines in order to find the best one. Even without such excellent cooks and management, this cozy establishment would still be sure to live up to its already stellar example of the heart of ripe entrepreneurship.

Food was nothing special. Onion rings were the best part, but truthfully not a reason to stop by. Before you get in, there are numerous, poorly written and printed signs that inform you of Soup Nazi like rules for dining at this establishment. It isnt funny, or charming or cute. I can cook at home, with better ingredients and taste. Im dining at your establishment so I dont have to. I pay you for this service. That is the relationship. You provide service and food for money. I dont care about the manager or owners personal displeasure with whatever flippant annoyance he or she currently has. The seating area is tiny. The food is mediocre, but cheap. The atmosphere is minimal unless a long line and cramped dining area is the theme. Not going to say dont go, but be prepared for a wait and boring food. Sorry, but there are quite a few better burger joints than this one.

This place is small. And great things come in small packages! It definitely wasnt overcrowded, and it looks a little like a biker bar, but its not. Its really quite fantastic. We had the salm-wich and a classic burger. They were both awesome. The cheese fries were awesome. The food overall? was AWESOME! The salmon was a little spicy and the burger was a bit greasy... but seriously? Youre at a burger place. Get used to it. The owner was there and seemed to know a lot of the "regulars." So that was good. All the staff there were fantastic. Oh, and hey, they serve AWESOME soda! Dublin Dr. Pepper, real Root Beer, etc, etc, etc. Side note here: Guy Fierri has been here for "diners, dive-ins and drives." His signature is on the wall, and they filmed late last year. Should be airing soon (hopefully!) Enjoy it. Drive out of your way for it. Eat up.
