This is our divey, cozy, breakfast place of choice. Johns cafe is interesting, in a good way. It is very much a quaint, mom & pop sort of place, which is another way of saying its a bit divey/dinery. Generous portions, good coffee, and friendly folks. It is definitely part of our breakfast rotation; in fact, it is usually the one place we consistently go to each week. Johns has been around for decades, under a variety of owners. As a result, it has not your typical Texas diner fare with relatively commonplace Mexican choices, but also some interesting things, such as a Belorussian breakfast. Our favorites: - Caliente omelette - Migas Its a very down to earth place, so if you are put off by some duct tape repair on a booth seat, you may want to ease on down the road to a more fancy pants place. ;-)

I wasnt greeted when I entered the building but everyone else was. I was never asked for a refill for my empty glass of water but sat here and watched everyone else get asked and served. I watched people get told "bye" and " hi" as they enter and leave but not I. I came in alone last time and tipped $ 8 and still receive horrible service. I was not asked " how is everything " ONE time but watched everyone else be asked. If youre black, take your money elsewhere.

Very friendly waitresse food came out quick. eggs,coffee were great. Biscuits and gravy were mediocre. Only suggestion is when a customer specifies they want to know if corned beef hash is canned or homemade please next time do not lie to your wait staff (cook). Cooking youre hash longer to make it crunchy and adding salt does not make it homemade or not from bag or can. I would have chose something else to eat. Thank you #hatecannedhash

I ordered the New Yorker Benedict and was rather underwhelmed. The hash browns were cold and greasy, sauce was bland, and the eggs over salted. About an hour after leaving I developed a terrible headache and became very sick to my stomach.

Great migas! Had one of the best cups.of coffee around. My wife decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed at all. Nice feel to the place and Juan the server was great!
