Short version: Absolutely loved this place. Delicious and varied food, offered with suggested beer pairings and knowledgeable staff. Excellent seasonal beer selection with many taps and bottles on hand. Long version: When we walked in, I was a little surprised how cozy and busy the establishment was, being such a stark contrast from the strip mall exterior. My girlfriend and I found our seats (its seat yourself style) between two couples who were very friendly and happened to be from the same part of the country as us. During peak hours, expect to sit at the same table as strangers (like we did). Our waiter arrived very promptly, my companion hadnt even had the chance to choose a beverage so she went with the Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA they had on tap, while I opted for the Left Hand Milk Stout. Expect to pay about $1 per %1 ABV on beers (thats all we had) for example, a 5.6% ABV beer was $5 and a 7.2% ABV was $7. When our drinks arrived we found they were well poured, however I wouldve appreciated it if my stout had been served in a tulip glass as opposed to a shaker pint. We ordered the Habanero deviled eggs as our appetizer, despite strong recommendations from one of the couples we met to get the Gravy Fries. The deviled eggs were good, but definitely had a smokey taste! Theyll leave your mouth a little hot (my girlfriend said her IPA made them spicier) unless you loveeee spicy food. I ordered the house burger with Porter Cheddar cheese and it was absolutely delicious. The fries which accompanied the burger were also exquisite. My girlfriend enjoyed her fish tacos and took advantage of the variety of salsas that come on the side as an option to add to the meal. Considering how busy they were, Holy Grail was phenomenal at how quickly they turned out our food and our waiter was fast and professional as well. Five stars!

In all honesty I tend to steer clear from Whiskey Cake because it doesnt matter what day of the week it is, but every night after 5:30pm this place is slammed. However, I attended a work party here and found it pretty enjoyable. I love the decor - lighting is dark with a lot of bricks and wood logs though the noise volume is quite loud. Our meal started with a small salad that was pretty decent. We then had a set menu to choose from for entrees and I selected the Farm Bird which I absolutely loved. Each component was well thought out and the chicken was flavorful in addition to being cooked well. Our meal ended with the Whiskey Cake which I was surprised I enjoyed. Overall the service was decent. They seemed to have a hard time getting all the entrees out at a similar time. We were a little bothered that our table was cleaned so fast some gifts and a water bottle were lost in all the commotion. When we called Whiskey Cake the next day to inquire, they had no clue what we were talking about. More attention to detail would definitely bump up the customer service, but overall a great meal!

Stopped by here while visiting the area on the advice of a coworker. It was very good advice. First, I loved that they had the place decorated for Oktoberfest with Paulaner banners and Bavarian flags. It was a very nice touch. There were TVs all around showing sports - mostly baseball as it was almost time for the playoffs. It wasnt too loud, either, so conversation was very easy. The food was very good. I had the cheddar bacon burger. It was done just right and was accompanied by some great fries. The only downside was the service. While our order was taken promptly and our food was delivered accurately and in a timely fashion, it seemed to take forever to get the check and pay so we could leave. This is a small thing, though and the only "ding" on an otherwise excellent experience. Ill keep this on my list of places to visit when in the north Dallas area.

Best in the DFW area. Im used to English type pubs and was new to the DFW area. Tried several places but The Holy Grail became a mainstay. Excellent range of beer on tap (European) and the food is above average - best fish n chips I found (and Id been to a LOT of other English/Irish pubs). Though towards the end of 2010 the service and food started slipping. Was told that the regular chef was away on holiday for a few weeks. The stand-in was NOT up to par - the food was greasy, improperly cooked and even the waitresses couldnt pour the beer correctly. Bit of a disappointment as I was a patron almost every other week.

The surly short dark haired bartender with the scruffy facial hair and ball cap that was here at 1 am when I came in for a beer must have been having a bad night because I felt so unwelcome on my first visit here that I almost just left. I asked about a beer on tap and you could tell be didnt want to explain anything with his short answer and when I and if there was a bar menu he just said no. I wont be back anytime soon, sadly. Theres too much competition for my money in this area to keep poor service professionals on your staff. I hope a manager reads this.

I asked my hotel shuttle driver to recommend a place where I could get a real Texan dinner. He recommended Holy Grail due to its excellent quality and low prices. I had an exquisite mushroom and brie burger and was recommended a Real Ale Seasonal as a beer with complementary taste to the meal. It was a wonderful, very satisfying meal. A real gourmet burger. $8 with fries. Very friendly service and the waiters joked with me and made sure I was well taken care of. Best meal I ate during my 3-day stay in Plano. Id return to this pub in a heartbeat.

This pub is great! I highly recommend it. It reminded me of the Cock and Bull Pub in Lakewood, but with better lighting, more floor space, and a wider beer selection especially on tap. The burgers are also similar to Cock and Bulls gourmet fare on ciabatta bread. Both pubs are great, but this is my new favorite. We went on a Sunday afternoon with our toddler in tow. They offer a kids menu (great mac n cheese) and the quiet afternoon atmosphere worked fine for a family (ours was the only kid there at the time). Also, the bathroom was clean and spacious.

Went to the Holy Grail a week back to grab a quick bite with my friend. We were expecting typical pub food and were surprised by the really upscale menu. Had the shepherds pie for dinner and a cheese plate to start off. The food was excellent! As a pub, the beer selection was terrific and the staff was attentive and quick to return with both our food and drinks. Prices were commensurate with the atmosphere... upscale... so not the place to go for a quick cheap beer. Definitely a perfect spot to take a date or meet friends for happy hour.

This is definitely a cool bar to hang out at if you are in the area and need a place to hang out at with friends. I came here a few times, and each time, I was pleased with the service. Their food is pretty good, so you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. A friend always gets the burgers and raves about how good they are. I ordered the steak frites one time, and it was REALLY GOOD. They have a nice size beer list you can pick from if youre a beer drinker. This place is definitely a cool spot to hang out at.
