Anyone who knows Lubbock knows that theres no such thing as an empty restaraunt on a Friday evening. As such, it was very concerning to walk into East Moon and find it empty. Not a soul... Fortunately, am empty restaraunt means eager-to-please staff and exceptionally quick service. Atmospherically, the place is quiet and fairly well decorated. Not a bad environment at all. We ordered: California Rolls Alaska Roll Philly Roll Avocado Roll Spicy Crunchy Crab Roll Kids General Tsos Chicken Chicken Pad Thai The complimentart side salads are simple. They consist only of iceberg lettuce. Fortunately, they make up for the simplicity with their peanut dressing. Its pretty good. Food was out in about 10-12 minutes. General Tsos: The plate was arranged nicely with a clean pile of chicken, steamed broccoli florets and a heart-shaped mold of white rice. The chicken tasted great. Much better than expected. Chicken Pad Thai: Excellent! Just the right ratio of chicken, scallions and noodles. Not overly spicy. Not too much peanut. Noodles were cooked to perfection and the presentation left very little to be desired. Rolls: Why did I ever eat at Hayashi or Ohana!? The rolls at East Moon are slightly bigger than those at either of the other sushi joints and taste FAR better. Trust me, do not go pay Hibachi prices! Overall, despite walking into what appeared to be a terrible restaraunt (by the lack of patrons), I am quite pleased with East Moon. Highly recommended. Great service, great prices, great food.

I got an order for carry out. This food is garbage. Literally. I threw it in the trash can. Here is why. Pork Eggrolls: obviously fried twice. The outside was so crisp, hard and stale that it wasnt edible. The only reason I can think of to re-fry an egg roll is to warm up old Eggrolls. Gross. Mongolian Beef: again, I feel like this food was old and just reheated. Everything had the same consistency. The beef was extremely soft and almost like mush. The flavor was decent I guess but it didnt taste like Mongolian beef at all. Buddhas Feast: same problem as above. Maybe the veggies were already cooked before being warmed up again in the sauce. The tofu was mushy too. The taste wasnt terrible but the consistency was all the same again. I wont be ordering from here again. If you have to eat here, maybe try it at lunch and it MIGHT taste fresh. Good luck!

Worst Thai/Vietnamese/Asian restaurant we have ever eaten at! We were very disappointed! We eat thai/vietnamese/Asian every time we travel and so we decided to give this one a try...noodles tastes like thin spaghetti, they did not taste like rice noodles at all! I have eaten at over 20+ different Vietnamese and Thai restaurants in Texas and New Mexico and I have never tasted something as crappy as this. Food had no flavor at all, it just tasted like plastic! Never again! Also, it was too warm inside. I think the temp was probably 80 degrees. Staff was not friendly at all, I dont even think we ever saw them smile at all. We gave a try to the different dishes we ordered and immediately we knew this was nothing close to what we have eaten before. I think frozen Asian/Chinese dishes taste better than this.

We go here often and are never disappointed. The food is great, well priced and in large portions. The service is fine, though you cant always expect a smile depending on your server (they have gotten much better over the years). They are always great with kids, and the place is never busy so the wait to get your food is always short. Basil fried rice, pad Thai, sushi, and the Tempura are all super awesome. They have the best hot and sour soup in Lubbock, and the pre entree salad has a killer sauce. By far the best Asian in Lubbock, and I have been to them all

Great place to eat. Friendly and fast service. Food was just ok... had the teriyaki beef, the teriyaki sause tasted watered down and bland. I dont know what brand they use or if they made the sauce them sleves or what. I know they sell sake at the bar so its really a missed opertunity if they are not making there own teriyaki sauce. Also the vegi with the meal was all soggy aside from the broccoli. Overall its a nice place to eat, there was a good selection on the menu.

Just had their lunch special with 3 kinds of sushi. All 3 kinds were bad and tasted the same. I ordered Thai iced tea ($2.95), which was in a small amount and tasted like water with two tablespoons of milk. I couldnt finish it. Their dishware is dirty, bathroom ar dirty and windows are dirty. They definitely need to do something with whoever manages this place. One extra star gets the waiter, he was the only good thing about this place.

Some of these reviews crack me up. Amazes me how entitled people have become. If you want "real" sushi, go to a REAL sushi restaurant that charges $15 per roll. This place gives you three rolls for $12 lol. Also, this is the most authentic Chinese food you will find in Lubbock, and its extremely cheap. Some of yall live your life to complain about something. Grow up.

Their food is always delicious and has generous portions. Also the staff is very friendly, my girlfriend left her wallet inside and despite it being 20 degrees outside and the waitress didnt have a jacket, she came running out to our car as we were leaving and gave us the wallet before we realized it was missing.

East Moon is a hidden gem! Their hours are incredible. Dinner until 10pm and 10:30 on Friday and Saturday. I recommend getting their sushi and the Thai curries on the menu if that fits your taste. Otherwise the full menu has something to fit your palette no matter what your favorites are.

Ordered three entrees. Two tasted horrible. With only being able to taste the sauce the vegetables and protein were sautéed in. The sauce was so overpowering on both that only a few bites were taken out of each. I would not recommend this place for anything but cheap sushi.

Ordered Crab Rangoons, General Tsos chicken and chicken lettuce wraps. Pleasantly surprised on the quality of food. Was looking for something quick after a long day of moving to Lubbock, and this exceeded my expectations. Will order carryout from here again.

The food is pretty good, however those who works there are very rude. Enough so that I will not go back. I ordered from East Moon a few times and enjoyed it, but after a few terrible experiences with their staff, I decided its just not worth it.

Our family fave! Wide variety of items on the menu and always very good! A few faves: basil chicken, any curry, pad Thai, soups, sushi, & eggrolls. Plus, my kids love the kids menu- sesame chicken, general Tsos chicken, or sweet n sour chicken.

Im super happy with this place. Not only did my meal come with a pleasantly large serving of vegetables, when part of my order was missing, they immediately sent it over even though it was snowing. I think I have a new favorite place!

We have eaten at East Moon at least once a month for the last year or so. Its not crazy expensive and if youre craving decent sushi its a great place. Everyone is always nice and the fact that they deliver is a huge bonus.
