Ive loved Asian cuisine--especially Chinese food--all my life. Most Americanized Chinese cuisine available in this area seems to taste the same these days, so finding something that impresses and satisfies me is rare. I came to New China hoping Id succeed Suffice it to say that "New China" is an appropriate name... as long as the "N" is removed. "Ew China." Not kidding. The place doesnt take pride in its business. No music plays inside, and my partner and I noticed that cleanliness wasnt exactly a priority. The floor, restroom, and even the nozzles on the drink machine werent clean. But a fellow patron we talked to while in line to place our order said that several menu items were "to die for, so we decided to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. I have no idea why my fellow diner raved about New Chinas fare--our dishes were positively disgusting. We ordered the egg drop wonton soup, steamed dumplings, vegetable spring rolls, General Tsos Chicken, and roast pork lo mein. Nothing--I repeat, NOTHING--was well-prepared. The soup was overly salty and almost congealed, and the dumplings--both the steamed ones and those in the soup--were doughy, undercooked, and underseasoned. The spring rolls were obviously frozen, with inexcusably mushy vegetables and soggy wrappers. The lo mein had practically nothing in it except the noodles and sliced pork. In my experience, carrots, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, and the like are added to the main ingredient. The pork, meanwhile, tasted gamey--a classic sign that it wasnt fresh and had been reheated. The General Tsos was just about as bad, with next to no unique flavor, and the breading tasted suspiciously "off." Freezer burn, now that we think about it. Meanwhile, the fried rice we ordered with the chicken had absolutely nothing in it--no egg, carrot, peas, etc. A few bites into our meal, my partner and I were so disappointed that we decided to ask for a refund and have dinner elsewhere. The man behind the counter gave us our money back immediately, with no apology, no emotion... almost as if.he knew the food was bad but he was resigned to the fact that he couldnt do anything about it. It seemed like it was a daily occurrence. "EW CHINA," indeed. Stay away at all costs. Irredeemably bad.

We were searching for a good local Chinese restaurant and went here mostly because of the 4.5 star review on google maps. The place is mainly takeout. They do have a few tables available to dine in but it didnt look like they had table service. There were quite a few people picking up food on the Friday night when I arrived so it seemed a popular place. We ordered the seafood delight, cashew chicken, and hot and sour soup. I will say you get PLENTY of food for the price. Perhaps thats why it is so well rated. But the seafood delight tasted "old" and the cashew chicken had zero flavor. The hot and sour soup tasted like something I could make from a dry soup packet. The steamed rice was really the highlight. Nice and fluffy. I cannot recommend this place. Our search continues.

This has to be the best General Tso chicken, they prepare it on the spot so you know it is fresh. It has a good spicy flavor (ask for extra spicy). It taste better then other big buffet places because other big Asian restaurants use mostly the same oil to cook their food so youll say you cant taste the differents sometimes but since this is a small place, they actually can cook their food separately so you can taste the flavor. The general tso, egg roll, and the rice has a lot more flavor then any others in Lewisville hands down. Make sure to get the general tso combo (my favorite).

I have had better. I kept going back in hopes that things would improve. The "white meat" sesame chicken left a great deal to be desired. I mentioned it to the owner and she replied, "I have not gotten complaints from anybody else." The chowmein was unlike any Ive had. It was packed with cabbage but no bamboo shoots. They do give you plenty of food, but Im having difficulty getting through it, because its just, okay. I see it being thrown out. I still havent found my place, but will keep looking.

You are not going to walk in and think eating in is the best option. Although they do have tables here, as stated earlier, this place is mainly take out. Pro Tip: Order from the wall on the right side to get the specials. Order a quart of Wonton Soup. This is an amazing deal for $3.99 that will include a new piece of Tupperware for your food storage.

Food is always fresh, hot and very tasty. Portions are generous and they price their food that a family of 6 can afford eating in or ordering carry-out Our family has been ordering carry-out for 15+ years, weve watched their two sons grow up and the quality of food over this time period has only gotten better. Special orders do not upset them.

Its been 15 yrs since move up to the Flower Mound/Highland Village/Lewisville area, many places shut and others open theirs, but this place keeps the food flavor always a top. Family owned (their kid grow and graduate high school with ours), service always friendly, on time.and very good size portions.

Customers for 5+ years. This is a family business that provides good food, great prices, large portions, and quick pick up service. If you[re looking for a "fancy" in-restaurant dining experience, this isnt it. This is excellent value... well done and highly recommended!

Horrible. Watched the lady pick peanuts out of our order after they prepared the dish wrong. When I noticed the peanuts and told her it was ordered without, her response was for me to pick them out myself. This was my first and last visit.... Stay away from this place!!

I have lived in Lewisville now for almost a year....originally from the northeast and New China is the closest I have come to authentic Chinese food. There are closer chinese food restaurants to where we live, but I always make the drive to New China.

This place truly is a hidden treasure. The food is always made fresh, and the portions are very generous for the price! I recommend calling ahead to place your order, otherwise you will have to wait just a little bit as they prepare all orders fresh!

My favorite place. Been going for many years, at least since 2010. Always hot, and accurate. Very large portions. Wide selection. Quiet. Tastes better than any other Chinese place, I can really tell the difference in taste.

This place has that traditional NY type Chinese food that has that pink pork in the rice that I love. Most people either love or dont like this place. I like it, better then panda express
