My boyfriend and I dined here on the recommendation of the front desk clerk at the Best Western Sunday House Inn. It was a Sunday evening at about 8pm. We were seated very promptly. The fresh bread was very tasty, lacking only a refill to our basket. The entrees come with soup or salad. I had the chicken soup and was very surprised and delighted at the amount of flavor and depth this simple soup had! I ordered off- menu (they have a dish called chicken damabianca, which sounded wonderful, except I substituted veal for the chicken) and it was WONDERFUL!!! Just on the strength of that dish, I would recommend this place. The only thing keeping this review from a higher score was our server. I do not know his name, but this is what happened: Our server brought hot fresh bread with our beverages, which was very good (although he didnt even try to bring more). He was polite, saying all the right things at the appropriate times, but there was such an air of insincerity about it that it made us feel like we were disturbing him. He did not offer to refill our drinks. My boyfriend asked for a large spoon for his pasta and never received it. The thing is, those two SMALL oversights by our server COULD have been overlooked, had we received an apology, or a noticeable effort on our servers part to be truly attentive to us. I struggled with whether or not to write this review, because honestly, the young man has the potential to be an excellent server. My hope is that he reads this review to learn from it.

Wow I travel a lot for work mostly single days at a place, so strombolis are easier to eat or keep than a whole pizza, so I have had many all over the country, but let me say that Bella Sera of Kerrville is among the highest ranking. I got the Bella Sera Stromboli and it was huge, it came the length of both my (plastic) knife and fork end on end and with no air in the middle at least the (plastic) knife blade length. But size isnt everything (so she says...) the bread wasnt too thick and what bread there was was soft and heavenly delicious, I bet their dinner rolls are made the same...cant wait to find out! The guts...oh the guts, lots of meat, cheese and more importantly the veggies. See the donness of the veggies makes a massive difference Ive had some that the meat and cheese were perfect but veggies still raw, and others where the veggies were obviously precooked before going in and were just goo when eating them. But this was perfectly cooked everything was perfect about this stromboli. I have to drive 30miles south tomorrow then head to Houston...but if time permits I will make the trip back up here to try something else on their quite vast menu, truly I am impressed. Far more than some other Italian restaurants in the area that Ive had on previous trips. Great job guys, you are now my go to Italian place in this area. Wish you were in Dallas!

PLEASE disregard the other reviews you see giving this place 1+ stars. Yes, it is edible, but definitely NOT authentic Italian. I had minestrone soup for starters and was given a giant bowl of Campbells that was being passed off as homemade. This was evidenced by the "potatoes" which were all cubed and obviously processed, the veggies & noodles which were swollen from preservatives, and the undeniable taste of Chef Boyardee tomato sauce instead of a nice broth. They literally dumped a can of minestrone into a bowl and heated it up. Whats more is that they had the audacity to put fresh parsley on top as if it were their own, awful creation. I notified the waiter who got embarrassed, immediately removed the soup, and brought me a salad. I ordered the cannelloni which was awful. It wasn’t stuffed properly as the filling was just ladled in there. Also, the portions are crappy. Not a lot of bang for your buck, which is disappointing since the inside is decorated nicely. Not an authentic Italian place. But if quality is the least of your concerns, go on right ahead. They’ll have “Play That Funky Music Whiteboy” and other oldies drifting awkwardly over the radio while you enjoy your Americanized mess of tomato sauce and noodles. Here is your warning: Italian foodies will be gravely disappointed.

The page gave thiscplace 4.3 starts, thats a joke. My hisband and I ate there on Saturday night. Let me tell you, not even close. The waiter was terrible, and the food was horrible, the calamary was way over cooked, uneateable, they dont drain their pasta so any flavor it might have had was lost. I didnt evrn eat my meal, I ate the salad and one piece of the bread which also wasnt very good. Thid is the worst resteraunt Ive EVER been to. I would never give anyone a recommendation to there. The other folks who wrote on here are not being honest, or they dont know what good food is. I GIVE THeM A 1.2 MAYBE. The man who said hes traveled the world and this was the best, you must have traveled in your dreams, or you were just enjoying your waitress, but this food is terrible. 5

Okay, I have eaten at this restaurant quite a few times since moving to Kerrville, so this is to say that if I was gonna experience a negative whether eating in or doing carry out I probably would have by now. But I have to say that I totally recommend this particular Italian restaurant, I mean I REALLY do. I am not a huge fan of Italian, but the sauces, the bread, and the cheese filled cannelloni are amazing good to the tastebuds. As I sit here tonight recovering from a horrid cold waiting for my Bella Sera takeout, I just wanted to throw a decent review out to people. I highly recommend this restaurant; the staff are A+, they truly desire to give excellent service.

O.K. here is the deal. Their homemade rolls are crazy good but you have to keep asking for more. If you get a female waiter you will probably have a wonderful time. If you get a male waiter you will be out of luck. Not everything is good. The Chicken Parmesan is very good.Do not order the pizza as it is very bland. And what ever you do, do not go in the morning for breakfast because you will be interrupting the waitresses private conversation and they will let you know your presence is very much not appreciated as you are trying to make them work at such an early hour. I kid you not. The WORST service [ in the morning ] I have ever experienced!

Here is the deal. Everything is fresh made from scratch and amazing. They make food the way food should be made, simple and perfect. The staff is very nice and always makes you feel welcome. I stayed in the Best western that shares a parking lot with this place. At first I came because it was convenient. Then over the next two days I went there for all my meals because I could not get enuf. I tried something new every day and it was all great. I like to think of my self as some what of a foodie. If you are looking for great food great service then here is your place. I just hope I visit Kerrville again so I can eat here.
