My husband and I visited the Hartz at 17340 Northwest Freeway, Jersey Village, Tx 77040...we should have run as soon as we entered the restaurant and felt the heat in the building...we paid for our buffet...and I thought to myself that maybe, maybe, the heat is from the buffet. No, it wasnt. The ceiling fans were on and there was an oscillating fan in the back of the restaurant blowing the hot air around. The food on the buffet had crusts on the mashed potatoes and on both gravys. The fish, there were a few pieces in the pan, were mostly batter with very little fish inside. The green beans tasted kind of neutral...meaning, they had no taste at all. The ice machine was empty and when I told the two employees who were just standing behind the counter chatting that it was empty they quickly offered a scoop for each of our cups. But, they continued talking and didnt fill the ice machine...when we wanted more ice we had to ask again. My husband visited the mens room and said that if I thought the heat in the restaurant was bad, well, the mens room was even worse. When this restaurant remodeled we had hope for it...we met the manager and he seems like a nice man...but he wasnt there today. And, even though the temperature in the restaurant wasnt much better when he was there in times past I have to say that the food at least looked like it was stirred and freshened often. We were disappointed and honestly, we were worried that we might get sick because the food was questionable at best and the heat in the restaurant didnt allow you to enjoy any part of the meal at all...not that there was really that much to enjoy. We presume that everyone else already figured out that this was not a good place to eat since we were the only two customers in the restaurant. So, sorry Hartzs...I guess we will have to find another place to go spend our money...we have pretty much decided that this was our last trip to Hartz...or at least the one on the Northwest Freeway in Jersey Village. Tuesday...July 31, 2012 between 4 and 5 pm.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE! I ate their buffet on yesterday 6/20/2017. Beside the fact that they had left out entrees waayyy longer than they should have forcing ppl to only eat a few select items, there was a GIANT HORSEFLY of unknown origin flying around and landing on everything. When I had finished my food I decided to get an ice cream cone. Right at the top of the cone was this BLACK HUNK of stuff that came out with it! I WAS SO DISGUSTED! Im pretty sure it had to be BLACK MOLD from that machine not being cleaned! I got the cook to come take a look because the cashier had left to go next door to the Valero (I saw her walking back across the parking lot as I was leaving). He just looks n goes "oooohhh...." I took pics...hopefully I can find a way to post them here! Im calling the Health Department to shut this place down!

Ordered take out. Paul was the only one in the front with one cook in the back. Great service. Had a call on hold, keeping a great conversation with myself my self and the cook. As well as taking care of a customer in the drive through. GREAT customer service!!!

This place has a wonderful buffet with a good selection of veggies, fish and chicken, salad bar and desert. The price is right and the food is fresh. With the quality of the food and the low price this place is a winner.
