Do not expect any north Indian food quality here...Ok for south Indian dishes...AND not for family function orders....If you have plan for any family function and planning to book this place with their food service - DO NOT BOOK this place. They dont have enough staff and the service is horrible. The guests would not like to wait for long time. Management is very bad. One person says something with different agreement and next time you go for any questions or any further details other person says totally different. Until the party is over they dont know what was the agreement. eg. - We confirmed for our party as "Menu 2" and they dont even know what is included in Menu 2". We have to argue on what they have on their website. Even confirming before 1 week of the event they continue to struggle with the details with reference to the event. - Initially we were told that they will provide a computer so that we can use it for music or any other purpose such as pictures or any other use if we have our projector but later at the time of event it wasnt there and we were told that they dont provide that whereas we already saw in a banquet hall set up for upcoming event or from past event where we went to book the hall. - We were told that for the party there will be separate entrance but at the time of event they said that they wont open the separate door and we only have to go through the restaurant door. --- we had so much trouble as we had a few guests with their small babies meaning with car seats, strollers... - Menu shows that there will be two soft drinks but they only gave one. - Guests were waiting for appetizer to be filled up again and they (Restaurant) sort of refused to fill up next time with their own reasons. - They dont check the food whether it required a refill or not as every time we have to go and tell them and it takes so much time and guests get tired of waiting and leave. - We had few guests left without food due to this type of bad service. - One more thing was that they never clarify on how they count the guests for per plate charge. I didnt even invite more then 45 people and they charged me for 50 people. I would say try to increase your budget and go to better place then this one. at least you will enjoy the event with few bucks extra cost. There are some good things as their veg. Pakoras were good and enough and convenient parking for guests (Which is common in Texas) and other food also tastes average means it is OK to go for one time meal with your family. I am giving 2 stars only for Pakoras but deep down I feel they dont even deserve them.

This is a quintessential Indian buffet to me. So many flavorful choices to choose from. Better selection than Underground Indian Cuisine which I had just a few days prior to eating here. Given the low number of reviews of this place on another site, I was shocked to see how busy it was. The place was poppin at 11:45. Im not sure if thats just because its a Thursday or if its always that busy. There was still plenty of seating available but much busier than I expected. In terms of the food, my favorite was the butter chicken and the lemon rice. I felt the tikka masala could have been better but it may have been an issue that I ate it right after eating the glorious butter chicken. The Chicken Biryani was good as was the fish curry and the veggie masala. I really didnt have anything that I disliked. They of course bring out complimentary Naan. It was fine (probably not the greatest, but not bad either). Today they also brough out a small cup of complimentary mango yogurt drink. Yummmm. They have a few desserts but my favorite is the rice pudding. I hadnt been to this location in a few years and I expected it to be pretty dilapidated on the inside. Its in a strip center so the outside is very boring. However, the inside wasnt bad IMO. I think they changed something in the past 6 years because it didnt look as dated as it once did. The only thing I really dislike are the ceilings which should be replaced, but aside from that I think its fine. Indian music playing in the background definitely helps with the atmosphere. A previous review complained about the cleanliness. I specifically examined the air vents on the ceiling due to this review and can report that they were all completely clean and free of dust. In fact, I didnt really see any cleanliness issues at all. Im always wary at Indian food restaurants of dirty dishes and silverware and think its best to always examine my dishes first, but I didnt have any issues here today. Anyways, had a great lunch and look forward to coming back in the years to come. On a side note, I appreciate that they brought my water out with ice without me asking.

Bad Food in Dallas for Dinner ! Wanted to try a new restaurant and found this site had 20/30 rating on google reviews and chose this one. Cost - $$ High Appetizers -Uncooked platters (real HARD to chew), lollypop which looked like it was fried twice Entrees - Spicy and Salt - below normal Taste - Every Dish (chicken fry and chicken masala south Indian style) tasted something like sambar chicken (though they had a fancy name to it) Roti and plain rice were OK to eat Servers - I would say they were nice but completely in experienced . Though there were plenty space on the other side of where we sat , they tried to sneak in dishes between my plates and my eating hand. But they were nice just inexperienced Ambiance - nice tables and ambiance Either this restaurant was once good and got good reviews or its buffet might have been good or good the reviews here were by the restaurant owners. We felt really bad because we chose this restaurant based on ratings on this site and so I wanted write this review

I am a long-term customer of the Pasand family of Restaurants across the metroplex. But my favorite Pasand location is this one in Irving by 183 & Beltline... I stopped by on the night of August 19th 2012 for a Masala Dosa. Before ordering, I inquired if they could make the vegetable masala stuffing (that goes inside the dosa) fresh, and without any salt at all. I was told that this was not possible. But i wasnt unhappy because i am aware that some special requests are not easy to honor, especially towards the end of the day... When i got my order, i was surprised. The Masala was just the way i wanted it - very fresh and salt-free. I enjoyed their tasty masala dosa with all the accompaniments... I am appreciative of the person/persons who went above and beyond their normal job duties to make sure that my request was honored.

My husband and I ate here last night. The restaurant is in a strip mall off of Belt Line. I ordered a Masala Dosai, which was absolutely incredible. We have both traveled extensively in North and South India and I can honestly say that this Dosai was as beautifully authentic as any Masala Dosa I ever had in South India -- and for only $6.95. My husband ordered a paneer thali meal, which he also enjoyed. Its a shame that this restaurant was a bit empty because the food was marvelous. We have tried many of the Indian restaurants in Dallas and North Dallas, which are pretty pricey. But Pasand was affordable and has the best South Indian food. The service was very good and the waitstaff very friendly. Im looking forward to going back soon!
