It took my wife almost 20 minutes to get her wine. It took me almost 30 minutes and several consults to get a beer as two separate servers including the "beer and wine guy" tried to help. The B & W guy couldnt even tell me what beer they had on his first trip even though he was sent over to inform/advise on beer. It wasnt until his third trip that he was able to tell me about all the beer they had on tap, still obviously under-informed on what the various beers were. And the actual beer selection wasnt even as good as the menu listed. Crab cakes were described as all lump no breadcrumbs which sounding interesting although not my style. In actuality, we had to search for crab meat, couldnt taste the crab meat or much else. If cheap frozen crab cakes from a box at Kroger tasted like this, I would be disappointed. My wife was thinking the exact same thing. No questions were asked even though my wife sent hers back with only a single bite taken out of it. The duo of sauces (marinara and something herbal?) were an interesting choice. My wifes entree was the veal chop which was tasty. Probably rates 3/5 for the plate. Although the bone was described as succulent with marrow and was actually rather bone dry. She said the sauce was tasty. The cookedness of the mushrooms in the risotto varied from raw to done. My hangar steak with jalapeño grits was a flabby, three sectioned slab with lots of fat (roughly 1/3 inedible and I was searching for meat) with absolutely no jalapeño in the grits. Jalapeño wasnt even held next to these grits. I expect the cook looked back after the grits were done and saw that he/she left out the jalapeño, if they were even a thought. Unfortunately, I chose the on-menu hangar steak over the nightly special hangar steak because of the jalapeño grits. This was pointed out to our waiter. He had a few excuses at first. Maybe an apology eventually after I explained to him that it wasnt a small amount of jalapeño, it was absolutely no jalapeño. As for the steak, I would have left this one at the store. The cheesecake for desert was tasty. Best part of the meal for me. We would return potentially for the cheesecake, but would not have another meal here. We are rating this restaurant 2/5 because it was clean and even though service sucked, the server seemed like he was trying.

My birthday dinner ended up a nightmare because of the management team here... Thanks!! At first they refused to let us change tables because there was a bright light right over the table like a spot light shining down while the rest of the restaurant was dim and it was uncomfortable. When we asked to move to a booth near us that was empty they told us we could not. Then there were two couples at the table, and we both had group ones which we each spent $59 on...so $118 total. The manager refused to let us use them together at the same table even though there was a groupon for 4 people for $99. So basically we spent more money on our groupons but because we had two of them instead of one we could not use them. We talked the assistant manager twice and she went and talked to the GM. She blatantly refused to let us use him we asked to be sat at two separate tables… So we sat on the patio at two tables right next to each other and had dinner. We got to use our Groupon, and our waiter outside thought it was ridiculous. I was frustrated because the GM never came to our table even though he visited the tables around us, never asked us about anything until we are walking out and then he said have a great night. Our table had so much trouble at first one would think if he was a good GM he wouldve came and talk to us but he had no Guts!! The sad part is everyone at the table has worked in the food industry and were not bad people we tip well but this was a stupid situation that they handled very poorly! Because of this we shall never return and I recommend my friends not returning either. Word-of-mouth is either the best or worst Way to advertise… Do not go there!

The worst experience ever!!!!! We decided to do brunch here on a Saturday, arrived at the restaurant at 11 oclock, received drinks at 11:15 and that was it, the waitress never came back to see if we were ok or if we ready to order or anything. At 11:40 I finally decided to get up and request a manager to advise him of the poor service and he states he would send over another server. Low and behold he sends the african american waiter like really send the black guy to handle the black women who are complaining (insult #1). After we ate and waited on the bill for 40 mins(requested at 1 and did not receive until 1:40) they automatically charged gratuity to our bill(it was only 5 of us and gratuity is 6 or more people) when this was brought to the managers attention he brought back the revised tickets. Now my card was charged still for the wrong amount right at that moment, I called them to let them know of the mistake and was told by a manager that its clear in black and white and they did not make the mistake maybe my bank did(insult #2) so now you call me a liar and tell me my bank statement is incorrect and maybe my bank places holds when the card is used at a restaurant like really you think i am that stupid huh. I wouldnt recommend this establishment to any one. This was my 1st and last time visiting this place of business. Failure to recognize when they were wrong and they way i was spoken to over the telephone was an absolute no go for me.

I used to love coming to this place, but the past two times Ive come, I was a little disappointed. Last time I came here, the food was not good and the service was really lacking. However, the manager came out and was really apologetic and tried very hard to improve our opinion.. so fine. This time when my husband and I went, the service was good, but the food was still so disappointing. We ordered from the brick meal- crab cake eggs Benedict. That and the potatoes were unseasoned. We had appetizers of avocado crab cake- also unseasoned. The one saving grace are those brunch muffins that I so enjoy every time. Every time I come though there seems to always be a shortage of these muffins. I really hope union kitchen can get their food back up to par. I really loved this place and I hate spending so much money on subpar food and inconsistent service. Overall the experience was ok but not worth the price we paid.

Contemporary neighborhood spot. Its on the end of a recently built strip center, jutting into a quiet little neighborhood--nice location. Food was above average (sampled a few different appetizers and entrees). They were very busy for our visit, and some of our items were either a little cold or a bit overcooked; but, nothing worth raising much of a fuss over. Good ingredients for a diverse and modern menu reasonably well-executed. Excellent service: our waiter was knowledgeable and affable. Manager made the rounds to make sure all was well. We sat outdoors and enjoyed the live music and sunset. Great time! Ill be back.
