If waking up and going to get a great breakfast and service is Your idea of what you are looking for, then I would Never go to this bad excuse for a restaurant. The difference between this place and Most restaurants is its filthy, and you see why the silverware is so dirty, that you have to wipe it off, even before you get your coffee, and it gets Worse. I can see why, most of the time they always seem like they are busy, but what they are busy with is trying to make it appear, to be busy with there job, but it is just a way to get a chance to make you feel sorry for them, so that hopefully they get bigger tip. Even though your order was placed wrong and I have had this happen many times, and I mean, not even what I had ordered, and then it is a feeling that they give you, that is all about something that you did. And if you do get what you ordered, I would look at it very close, as I have, as well as several friends have found Many things in our food, that would make you feel like throwing up and we are not talking about food. I Would Never eat hear, unless you have a need to get sick, and the only thing that this place could be good for, is to be torn down and was used for a bonfire. Thanks

The waitress was amazing. I didnt catch her name but she was amazing. Thin, tallish, dark hair, glasses. She was friendly, polite, and wasnt overbearing. It took 15-20 mins to get our food after ordering. Thanks to the wifi, that helped kill time as my husband and I were looking up some stuff and chatting. I ordered the Chicken Strip Dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and cottage cheese. The potatoes were homemade with a hint of garlic flavor, delicious. I couldnt tell 100% but I think that the gravy was also homemade by texture but flavor said it may have also been bag. Not 100% sure though. The chicken strips were slightly on the side of bland but still pretty darn delicious, especially with gravy or bbq sauce. My husband ordered a full order of biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns and an egg over medium. The egg was almost overly cooked but still had some yolk, so it was fine for him. The biscuit and gravy were homemade and full of flavor he really enjoyed them. Nothing about this place is a disappointment and well worth the money and time to eat. Thanks OLD 56 Family Restaurant for NOT disappointing!! Dined on 2/16/17 at 6:30pm-7:00pm

Waiting over 30 minutes to place an order. (Granted there was a large group) over an hour after placing an order still havent received the food. NOT a ONE order was filled correctly. Apparently they only have two waitresses and probably one person in the kitchen and just decided subpar service is acceptable. Do not recommend at all. If werent were the fact I was invited as part of a group I would have walked out. After 20 minutes from posting this my food came out they completely forgot one guests order. $10 for a crappy burger and fries. Not satisfied at all. I notice the owner has commented on a few of these posts... i hope he comments on mine so I can tell him its time to close up shop.

I came here at 8am on a Thursday this place had 23 people eating breakfast & more customers were coming in. I ordered breakfast 2 eggs,4 pieces of bread, hash browns, 4 pieces of bacon & 1 big pancake & coffee. I only paid $8.47 for this huge breakfast. Price wise it is very good. My breakfast was very good no complaints about the food it was really good. Server was very fast in bringing me my coffee & food. 5 stars all the way. Excellent food,Excellent service & the place looks good & has a nice family friendly atmosphere.Keep up the good work everyone who works at the Old 56 Family Restaurant. I really injoyed my visit & will definitely stop by this place again.

I was VERY VERY pleasantly surprised! To start out, our waitress Jasmine was extremely pleasant, friendly, personable, great attitude, helpful, and knowledgeable about the menu. My husband has had 5 back surgeries and she wanted to be sure he was comfortable with our seating and she even waited until he sat down to make sure he was comfortable. THANK YOU JASMINE!!! The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We both ordered breakfast and the biscuits and gravy were great. The hash browns, bacon, and eggs were perfectly cooked...so thanks to the chef! We are DEFINITELY coming back...soon!

I came in saturday morning before heading to a car show. I saw the reviews and generally take them with a grain of salt. Unfortunately the food wasnt very good. Over easy eggs came out fully cooked and poached. My friend ordered the steak medium rare. Got it medium well. With absolutely no pink to it. Another ordered an omlete. That was done wrong too. Apparently the cook was working the nightshift so they used the dishwasher instead. We forewent sunday morning there and did hardees. It comes out as asked.

Old 56 is affordable, tasty food. A mature crowd is usually present, which makes me wonder why the young havent figured out that Ottawa has its very own "IHOP" in an all-day breakfast menu. Sometimes the restaurant feels understaffed: the workers are hustling their asses off, but still have difficulty keeping ahead. Still, my wife and I ate delicious, generous portions of breakfast food at 9pm for just under $20 before tip. Give it a try!

Their food was mediocre, definitely nothing to write home about. I will say the food came out fast, the reason try got 3 stars instead of two. I went to go wash my hands after ordering and when I returned the food was out. I was happy with the service, the were quick and friendly. Only thing I believe was homemade was the salad dressing on my wifes salad, everything else seemed eerily close to boxed and dehydrated.

Worst thing is they serve the worst soft drinks ever. Pepsi Cola. Pepsi deminishes the great taste of the food, where the number one beverage Coca-Cola enhances it. The food itself was great, but could have been better with an ice cold Coca-Cola. I wont be back because of the soda they serve isnt Coca-Cola.

Little travel gem. Homestyle food and pie. Quick and friendly service that doesnt rush you when you want to linger over coffee, or will get you out the door fast when you are traveling. Food rather good, generous portions. Coffee and pie afterward was a great travel break.

Have never had a good experience at this restaurant. Used to go on Sunday mornings to have breakfast, under staffed and inexperienced. Slow and bad service always have to ask for a coffee refill. By the time we would get our food it was lukewarm at best. Wont go back

Tried out the delivery service, it was great! Im a sucker for omlettes, and the person who delivered our food was courteous and set us up with everything we needed! The one problem is I couldnt seem to give a tip (I paid with a card), are tips cash only?

A good casual family oriented diner. They are there for both the travelers and locals alike. The menu has a good variety at good prices. If you have diet issues to work with they bend over backwards to work with you. I am a multiple repeat customer.
