Ive been to Community Bar on multiple occasions over the past few years, and always had a pleasant time. Granted, I never really paid any attention to the bar itself, just my company and my Mo-Tea-To. Upon my last visit, I suddenly realized, without a hot guy to distract me, that its not really all its cracked up to be:( I visited about a week ago and learned they make their own ginger beer. Thats cool! But, I dont like ginger. Despite the drink menu being an array of ginger based drinks, theres a full bar; so, I didnt have any trouble finding a drink. They were out of something that contributes to the Mo-Tea-To (Im guessing the Mint Firefly); so, I went with the something fancy named but was nothing more than a Firefly Sweet Tea vodka and lemonade. It tasted like a standard sweet tea vodka and lemonade - nothing special - except the price. This simple, non-specialty concoction was $8. I can order this anywhere in town and pay no more than $5 unless Im in a bottle service night club (in which case Im poppin bottles and makin it rain all while looking classy and pretty). I thought this was a bit excessive. If they had infused the vodka themselves or something, by all means, but otherwise, "no sir". The other thing that I finally noticed is the odd smell in the bathroom. It smells like every villain from Marvel and DC found a locker room and died....and that locker room is the bathroom at Community Bar. I dont really know how one would remedy this, but its important to have a pleasant bathroom for the ladies - this isnt Numbers 2 where you-call-its are 25 cents. Ive heard great things about the food (especially the tacos); so, I might pop back in, but Ill stick to the house wine and avoid the facilities.

My friend wanted to go to Thursday HH which is Burger night. I probably would have given this place 3 stars since a company decided to have HH the same time we were there, but the burger made up for it. The place isnt very big, and with this big group taking up almost the whole place it didnt leave us much room to sit except in this little "VIP" boom boom room that seemed a little sketchy. Anyways, the burgers (and the other food we saw people ordering) was definitely above average, and the cocktails were also pretty good. Will try this place out again for sure.

Service is top notch. This is an awesome dive bar that runs one bartender on any given night. You might wait 5 minutes for a drink if the place has 40 people in it....the thing is though, of those 40 people 30 of them know each other. You want a cool new place that can be quiet or upbeat....try this out. You want a "new to midtown" need a hip spot....well you might get it on a Tuesday and miss on a Friday and vice a versa. You should come here to chill, meet new friends, and be over the club like bars of midtown. Average patron age is probably early 30s

Super friendly barstaff and patrons alike. New customers are always made to feel welcome by the regulars by including them in conversations rather than looking at them as interlopers -- as is the case at so many other establishments. This has been a favorite spot of mine for many years. Food is good and definitely worth checking out. Drink prices and pours are very reasonable.

This has the best steak quality steak night in Houston. On Tuesdays, you can pay $17 for a massive, delicious, tender steak with great sides. Its really a marvel. The bar opens at 5, but steak night doesnt begin until 6pm. Theyve also got a good selection of drinks, though you might be disappointed if you want beer - they do mixed drinks, but only have bottled beers.

Have not ever felt the need to review a place but this place has given me horrible service, the bartender was rude and after an hour I am still waiting for a burger. After notifying the staff for the third time I still did not get an apology and no reason for the delay. No words for the hunger and anger I feel right now

Only come here on Tuesdays for steak night!! One of the best steak deals. For $17 you get a ribeye with chimichurri and mashed potatoes and corn. Occasionally they throw in some mushrooms and pineapple. Pretty good drinks too. Check their chalk board and order a random drink. Youll like it.

My hunny and I love this place. Its reasonably priced and easy to get to. The FOOD IS AMAZING. Bob owns the place and is a talented chef as well. The Bangkok Ravioli is good as well as the Wild Boar and Venison Quesadillas. Also try the MoTeaTos... they are so good but dangerous!

I LOVE coming here on steak night, such a good value and such a good meal. The moscow mules here are also another favorite. Their burger night is pretty good too and if its too crowded inside there is a good amount of seating out on the patio.

Great staff. Really good food, and drink specials. Plenty of options to choose from, weather you are a are "rookie" or a seasoned veteran. Nice patio where you can chill with your pooch and smoke a cigarette. All thumbs up, here.

Great low key bar. Great food, excellent steak night and reasonable prices. Craft drinks and draft beer available. Very friendly staff. Not a huge location but seating available outside as well. Very hip bar! Highly recommend.
