TL;DR : I waited 50 minutes for a ToGo order that I ordered in advance over the phone. The cashier was really kind and helpful, however my service afterwards was not so great. Here is the thing, I ordered my food an hour in advance over the phone. I ordered it, was told it would be ready in a few minutes. I arrived 15 minutes after I called. I went up to the desk, confirmed my order added a 1/2 pint of mac and cheese , paid, and then waited at on of the tables for my order to be called. I sit and I wait and wait about 30 minutes have past. Still waiting, I finally got up and asked where my order was and I see it just sitting there on the kitchen table in the bag and everything. The cashier asks the cook where my order is and she looks at the bag and just hands it to the cashier. She hands it to me and I ask "has it just been sitting there the entire time?" the cashier reluctantly says yes and apologizes. I just dont think its fair that I called and ordered 20 minutes in advance and then waited another 30 minutes for a TO GO ORDER. Im...disappointed. I didnt even taste the food because it was a meal I was getting for my mother and she described it as "so and so". I wont be returning here ever.

Went last night to try out this new BBQ joint that just opened on 1960. Beautiful landscaping out front, plenty of parking in back, roomy inside w TVs to view while dining. Ordered the PBJ sandwich, which is a sandwich w pulled pork, brisket and jalapeno sausage w cole slaw on a jalapeno bun. It was very good. Pros: Meats were tender and flavorful. Sides were tasty and well prepared. Nice restaraunt and service was attentive. Cons: Plastic utensils made it difficult to cut into the brisket and sausage and chicken. Provide metal utensils for diners! BBQ sauce was too sweet. Need a spicy option for those who prefer a spicier sauce. How about hot rolls with butter to compliment the meal?

Very clean and orderly restaurant. Staff is attentive and kind. The bbq is delicious and there are tons of great choices for sides. This is my kids favorite bbq place--they arent real bbq lovers, so they appreciate the sweet potatoes and fries and mac and cheese! My husband and I love the meats. Weve had the combo plates and tried them all and were pleased! We have been there twice and have had a great experience both times. Good atmosphere, family-friendly and a great place for large groups, as there are long tables that can seat big groups. Our first visit was a family birthday dinner and we all sat at one long table. It was perfect! Give this place a try! You will be impressed!

The first time I went here the brisket was good; However, on July 7, 2016 I brought a pound of brisket and it was horrible. I never taste brisket that was so tough. The meat as well as the fat was tough. I asked the meat cutter to give me fresh brisket, but he played as if he could not speak English. I should have followed my first mind and went to Pappas Barbecue, which is located less than 2 miles down the street. Pappas brisket have more of a barbecue flavor, and is much more moist. You may pay to dollars more at Pappas for brisket, but it is well worth it. I wasted my twenty dollars, and I will not recommend this barbecue place to anyone. The barbecue sauce is also horrible.

This is a great place for all types of BBQ. I got the three meat plate with pulled pork, brisket and sausage (they have mild and spicy). All were delicious. There are fountain drinks, with free refills and some desserts too. The order taker was helpful and friendly. My wife and three kids split the plate as they were not terribly hungry, the order taker even gave us extra plates with a smile. The seating is family style, long tables with lots of chairs on each side. VERY CLEAN and does NOT smell like a smokehouse even though the brisket has a very smoky flavor. We have been there twice and our family loves it. It is new and hope it is here to stay.

I cant say too much about the consistency in this place, I have brought about 10 people here introduce them to the brisket and pork ribs first and everybody has liked it and swear it is one of the best that they have had. There are better definitely but you cannot beat the location centrally on 1960 and you North Area. Prices are on par, $15 for a 3 meat plate is not a bad price. Do not get the chicken fried steak, and offset to really good food in this place the chicken-fried steak is the worst Ive ever had in this world.

Ordered via Door Dash-pleasantly surprised! Drive by this location all the time and had yet to try it. Ordered the 1# Special (pick 4 different meats)-we picked brisket, chicken, pork ribs and sausage. All had amazing flavor, were juicy, and tender. This special came with a box of bread, onion quarters, 2 huge pickles and 2 blocks of cheddar. We also ordered a side of pintos and so glad we did. Amazing flavor and just the right amount of kick. Will definitely order again!

The food here it top notch. The sides are amazing and the smoked flavor in the meat is perfection. The restaurant was clean and barbecue-y (that is now a word). Lol! The only reason I am rating a 4 instead of a 5 is because the restaurants namesake, the brisket, was a bit dry and even putting bbq sauce on it didnt help it a whole lot. In my opinion this is the best bbq restaurant in the area. We will definitely be back!

Pretty good but what made me give this place 3 stars is they dont have kids meals! 1 meat and 2 sides was $10 good price for the amount they give you, but my 1 year old daughter ofcourse didnt even eat half of it. Also there mac n cheese was like it had been sitting there or maybe over cooked and there fries were not crispy. If I go back I just get the meat by the pound and make sandwiches at home.

Average. Its not bad bbq or the worst Ive had, but definitely not one of the top tear gotta have bbq spots in Houston. I like homemade sausage not store bought. Beans need a little more work. Bbq sauce is not good quality. The baked potato salad was ok but nothing to come back for. I place them with the other majory bbq franchises just average. Will not return to many better places for my money.

The brisket was tender, fatty, and well-smoked, but a little too salty. The fried okra, mac and cheese, and potato salad were excellent. The bbq sauce sucked - it was ketchupy - but it didnt bother me, because the brisket was delicious and didnt need any sauce. Overall, it was great, and I recommend it. Just dont dump their sauce on your meat before you taste it.

Didnt want to cook during hurricane Harvey so we decided to figure out what we could eat. Drove by this place thinking it wouldnt be open but they were! & the staff was so friendly made our order early instead of making us wait till they opened a hour later. Food was amazing! The staff was amazing! Go there! Go there!
