I live down the street from this place and Ive been here 4 times yet only left with food once. The first time I went, it was mid afternoon. I had a cheeseburger. There was nothing notably wrong but it was substantially overpriced for being a burger shack that only does to-go and cash orders. The second time, I had nothing to eat after work and so decided to show up at 8:30. They were there, the open sign was on. They approached the window and told me they were closed. I looked at them and then their open and close time sheet that said "open til 9pm" and then left confused and without food. The third time I showed up was the same as the second, no food after work and didnt want to go to the grocery store. I show up at 8:15 because I didnt want to make the same mistake as before. You already guessed it... They told me they were closed. Fine. I went today again at 8. I asked them if they were closed, they said no. I asked for their combo which comes with a burger, fries and a soda. I told them they could keep the soda but could I get onion rings instead of fries (their fries are these bland gummy fries that taste frost bitten). They said they dont do substitutions, I would have to pay for this upgrade. Let me do the math for you, a single soda is 1.55, fries are ~2, onion rings 2.50. I get that its policy or something but I cant help to feel like you should just work with me here especially as I was the only person there to order. I was fed up and left. This all occurred over the course of around 3 months. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt multiple times yet they cant seem to get the one room, burger shack thing to work, even after a decade+ of being here. This is what I would consider consistently bad customer service. This isnt a one off circumstance. Go anywhere but here so you dont overpay for mediocre, at best, food served up by two coarse and unwelcoming ladies that make you feel like youre bothering them for trying to give them your money.

After reading the great reviews I decided to try this place. Im underwhelmed by all of it. I appreciate a good hole-in-the-wall place like nobodys business, but this place disappointed me. The ladies working were curt, which is fine - I was looking for an amazing burger not a smile. But the burger and fries werent good. They werent necessarily BAD, and I appreciate that they toast the bun, but the patty and fries were likely purchased frozen from Sams Club. Yhe patty couldve been about twice the size for the bun they put it on. Again, theres nothing wrong with that if thats what youre looking to pay $8 for, but I really dont get the hype. I guess I shouldve just gone for a malt instead. I realize other places in the area are more expensive, but for a few more bucks a burger at Christians Tailgate is waaaay more worth it.

There is something nostalgic and magical about a little shack in an old neighborhood that has stood the test of time slinging burgers. Inexpensive, honest, good, quick. A bit greasy yes but I tell you in a pinch if you are in the area is a great decision. No frills guys. The service is about the same. CASH ONLY. Shakes, Burgers, Fries...and if you feel extra self deprecating dip them fries in the shake!

This place gets raves due to its history and not necessarily due to the quality of their food. This is a basic brown paper bag burger speacial. Not bad, but nothing to rave about. Being cash only doesnt help either. Ask for cilantro on the side and see what if anything happens. With all of the development around it, I wouldnt be surprised if its gone in the next few years. Worth a try though.

Its a frozen hamburger party on a him no brand bun. Absolutely nothing special. Fries are the bagged frozen generic pre cuts that you can get for fifty cents at any Dollar General. For what it is Id be fine with it and wouldve rated it add a three, perfectly average, except its eight dollars for a cheeseburger combo, the people are rude, and the drink is a twelve ounce cup...

If youre looking for kiss your ass customer service, go somewhere else. This place is decent and way more affordable than ruggles green. Its cash only, they have been around for what seems like forever, and if youre not overly pretentious youll find that the food isnt as bad as some people have reviewed. Let me put it this way, the food is better than my crappy grammar. ;)

After reading the reviews, we decided to check it out. I was VERY surprised at how bad the food was. Im all for hole in the wall burgers, but this was terrible. The burger patty tasted like rubber fries were very mediocre. I couldnt even finish it. Dont let the reviews fool you not worth the money.

I asked for my number....the lady said shed just call it out. ...I heard "burger and onion rings".....got home and realized that I had picked up the wrong order......I got 2 cheeseburgers and onion rings....so disappointed. ...and to think a simple number would have avoided all of this

Been here since I was a kid and I still enjoy the cheeseburger baskets. Although I think theyve changed the fries, dont taste as good as back in the day. Great service, I was Call my order in ahead of file so its ready for pick up when I get there.

Old fashioned burger place. Burger and fries were good for an excellent price. I was short on cash but they still gave me the combo since they only take debit. I will be back!

The best part of the burger is the way they grill the patty such that you can taste the char and crisp. Favourite hole in the wall burger.

For what it is, its pretty good... But I hope youre not expecting a gourmet meal out of a shack. Its a local fast food mainstay.
