A neat little hole in the wall tucked inside of a gas station next to a car repair shop. You may be a little skeptical at first, but its worth the visit. Parking wasnt too hard to find, which may be your first question dinning downtown during lunch hours. The restaurant is set up fast food style, you order at he counter, get a number, and food will be brought to you. The price is relatively cheap for downtown, ranging from around 6.99 - 10 dollars. I had the pad kee mao, very authentic, exactly what you expect from a decent Thai restaurant. The portion is a tad smaller than normal, but I think its just the right size for lunch. I also tried the pad thai and eggplant, both on par as well. I would give alll of them 4/5.

Dont get me wrong, the food is so amazing! I rarely go cause its downtown. I just left right now with my mom, because a homeless man was drugged and was dancing and shaking like if he had a seizure and was banging the restaurants windows. A man had him walk away. The other drugged person was lying on the floor outside, bobbing his head and shaking. Its scary because the other one was chasing people like if they were going to beat them up. There was another one in the corner of the gas station causing people problems. I felt very uncomfortable and scared so my mom and I left as soon as they were out of sight.

This place is a hidden gem! Its authentic Thai food with the option to be mild or so spicy, spice lovers cry. Service is quick and the workers love to see a frequent face. I havent come to Naras and left without being flashed a genuine smile or asked if I needed or wanted anything. But the most common concern is the location. Its by a gas station and youre bound to see homeless folk walking around. Maybe not the best place for a first date or for someone to come alone if they arent used to that aspect of Houston, but inside is a calm and very relaxed atmosphere. Not often bustling inside.

Very good Thai food! It is located next to a gas station and may look a little shady on the outside, but the food and price is hard to beat! My go to entree for Thai restaurant is pad-see-ew (spellings vary from restaurants to restaurant). I ordered it and came out in a timely manner. I really loved the portion (perfect amount for me and didnt have leftovers!). I also loved how it wasnt super salty compared to other restaurants. I even forgot to add the sriracha sauce because it was that good! I definitely recommend this place!!

I like Nara! It is a little sketchy since its located next to the gas station (across from greyhound station) and there are always bums around. But the food is on point!! I like getting their shrimp tom yum soup! The shrimp is humongous! Definitely try it out. Their pad thai and pad see ew are good, their curry is good! Ive tried a few things here, and Ive enjoyed them all. Their chicken wings also have a good take. Definitely give it a try. They always have groupon deals! $10 worth of food for $5.50. Its worth it!

Hole in the wall Thai restaurant serving good food across from the Greyhound Bus station downtown. You wait for your food as its being cooked/prepared for you on the other side if the counter. This place is separate but attached to a gas station/convenience store. Quite a few vagrants and a few passing beggars who dont mind coming up to your car looking for a handout. Not a place to take a squeamish date. Just good food and no atmosphere. Handy before or after bus travel.

Easily the best Thai food in downtown, I have tried all Thai food locations in downtown and this place is the best. I love the pad kee mao but sometimes I order green curry or some other item from the menu as well and they all taste equally good. The average price is pretty good as well. The restaurant is clean from inside but the area around the restaurant is a bit shady. It is one of the shops in a gas station area next to grey hound bus service.

Similar taste and experience and Kuhn Kai Thai, but a little less expensive, IMO (I think the curry was around 8-9$. I used a Groupon and Im sure glad I did, because its right down the street and tastes really good, at least the Red Curry was! From mild, medium, spicy and Thai spicy I tried "spicy" and it gave my mouth just the right burn that I love. Ill be back.

Dont let the surrounding gas station fool you; this place is amazing. Very clean inside. The food is spectacular and the rice is done just right. Thai Cashew Nut is probably my favorite, but I havent found anything on the menu I didnt like. My only word of caution would be that after 8pm, there are some sketchy people wandering the street in that area.

I was skeptical about this place, specially since the area is kinda sketchy but this Thai place is high quality. The portions are pretty good and the dishes are tasty. better the prices are very reasonable and the ingredients are fresh. Recommend the Peanut Chicken Curry and the papaya salad! However, anything here is pretty solid!

In town for business and googled Thai Food and this restaurant came up with great reviews so we tried it and the food was fresh, spicy and delicious! We tried the Papaya salad and loved it! Noodles and basil dishes were very good as well. Service was outstanding and the place was very clean. Only negative is its location.

Skeptical at first due to the location and the people surrounding food but food is not bad, not the best but ok. Had the beef soup noodle and some meat skewers. The noodles were alright but the meat skewer is great especially with the sauce. Customer service is good and friendly. Not bad for a sub-fast food experience

Decent prices. And like that there are no servers so I dont have to tip. Great spring rolls- taste and price Pad Thai is legit. Green curry dish is watery. Dont recommend. Pink sauce that comes with spring rolls is watery- ask for peanut sauce instead. Watch out for the crazy guys that hang outside late at night.

Their food is outstanding, 5 stars for sure. The lady that works the cash register, who I think is the owner, is very rude. She is so unpleasant everytime Ive been there. I love their thai tea and get it everytime; one time it was extremely sweet and I wanted it watered down a little, she was just not having it!

Love this place! There are always coupons available for this place! After coupon its about 40 percent off for us! 70% off the time the food is consistently awesome. The rest I would say its still decent Thai food. Love the pad Thai, pad ke mao, sukiyaki noodle soup, red curry catfish, and curry puffs!

Cheap, quick and tasty Thai food. Their Pad Thai is excellent, and tastes authentic. Their curries are a little bit more hit and miss, but the green curry is delicious. The location is extremely sketchy, although I havent had any safety issues, but its worth it for affordable and good Thai food.

Roy was super helpful with picking out great menu choices for me and even covered a couple quarters I was short (I embarrassingly didnt bring enough money) I ordered two things I usually love most places; spring rolls and the coconut chicken soup and both were some of the best Ive ever had.
