My daughter has been urging me to look at reviews on places I stop at so I am still kinda new to this leaving reviews. I am in Houston every week dropping Monday mornings for the past 19yrs. I see a lot of things go on at the location good and bad kinda has to do with the part of town its located...Definitely declined more over the past 10 yrs. If i cant find a parking spot I go a couple exits up and park at the Walmart and bobtail back for a shower. I see the same ol guys in the tv room every Sunday. Always drama with the local guys usually complaining about the tow guys hooking their trucks. I met the tow man a few weeks ago he unlocked my truck for me free of charge and I was ready to pay the guy. I was talking to him about the parking situation and he explained they had just started towing in the past few months. Mostly dropped trailers or locals leaving their trucks to long. Funny his phone rang while I was there and someone was calling about a truck he towed almost a week ago complaining. He was nicer to the guy on the phone than I would have been. He very nicely explained to the guy that this lot is for customers on site and not a storage to find a local storage and park there. He even told him where to find a few storage places but the guy just kept on saying he had been parking there for years. I know my opinion probably doesnt count but I give the management a thumbs up for doing something that is long over due. If you are looking for a another spot to park no drama or lot lizards go a couple exits north to the Walmart. Ive never had a problem there either with lot lizards or homeless knocking my door like the Flying J...I give this location a drivers lounge area showers etc..4.0, 4.5 for service always friendly and helpful, 3.0 for parking I would give 4.5 if they would make the local trucks find alternate parking if they are just going home, 2.5 for security if they would patrol the truck parking more to run the solicitors or lot lizards off. Overall 4 stars

Flying J Truck Stop Houston Texas right on Interstate 45 and the service road. Large parking lot for cars and 18-wheelers. The parking lot as well paved and the spaces are wide. Theres a Dennys and a regular Flying J truck stop. The truck stop is clean the floors are clean and has the regular items you would expect. The Dennys looks new its very clean the floors clean and the tables are clean and well set. The menu and the prices seem to be the same as that other Dennys. It was Christmas Day and I ordered turned out nice. We were greeted and sat at a nice table. They were quick to bring out our water. Place the order and a salad came out first very fast. A Christmas turkey dinner was $9. It was hot and it tasted very good. The waitress check back several times she was very good. It was a large portion and I had some to take home. It is my first time here and I will be back again. I highly recommend this to anyone. In one of the pictures youll see theres a lot of black birds that gather near the parking lot. It was near Sunset. They also gather on the wires. There were lots of security guards and police around it made me feel safe.

I hate this place! Under staffed at night...very busy with drivers and local people. Waited 1/2 hr for a pizza that I ordered and was never told that it was never put in the oven. Dennys is busy @ 3am with 2 waitresses...The shower card reader was down, so theyre charging people for showers. DRIVERS WHO HAVE SHOWERS ON THEYRE CARD! The computer on the safe was down and the three people in the store were playing with that. The cashier is full of lame apologies for the pervasive ineptitude. The place is filthy....trash running over on fuel islands, bathrooms are disgusting. The porter is in the back kicking it with what looked like his twin brother.....I called the 800 number for pilot, but unfortunately I could call everyday at any given pilot usa. I SO MISS THE DAYS WHEN WE HAD A CHOICE IN RESTAURANTS AND TRUCK STOPS. NOW ITS PILOT, OR PILOT, OR PILOT, OR FLYING J......I STARTED THIS POST WITH I HATE THIS TRUCK STOP....I DONT THINK HATE IS STRONG ENOUGH WORD

If there was a star minus,I would rate it 5.There was nothing good about this place. Its worse than the flying J in New Caney, and you have to try to be that bad.Seems like customers are a bother to the staff, who has more important things to do than wait on you. There is more security people here than staff, but most of them were in the movie room watching tv.Dennys was as bad as it gets.If youre going to eat here, bring your own refills, napkins, silverware, and a hell of alot of patients.Helps if you like a variety of food, because you will probably not get what you ordered.I did get a good laugh out of it when all done just thinking, you can be that bad unless you really want to be that bad.If you are looking to stop here, look the other way.Dinner will cost you an easy hour at the least and 17 bucks.

Its a typical Flying J so you get about what youd expect. My problem with the place is everyone coming up to the truck trying to polish your tanks and rims or sell you something. Had my window down with my headset on and obviously talking but it didnt stop homey from walking up and just starting into his spiel. He got offended when I pointed out that I was on the phone which should have been obvious. Another one beat on the door while I was in the bunk during the day and couldnt get his mind around the idea that I might not want to be disturbed. I dont have a problem with someone trying make some money but use a little sense. I dont even try to be polite to those like the ones as mentioned above anymore.

Girls at the register constantly screwing around, chatting back and forth with each other and ignoring customers. It took nearly 10 minutes to buy a gallon of water and I was the only one in line. Pretty ridiculous considering the manager was goofing off right along with them. The only helpful person was the parking lot security guard. I wasnt parked in a designated spot and he helped me locate a better, safer parking place. Nice to see some security, too. My wife sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night and has to use the restroom. Its nice to know that gigantic security guard is there.
