Thought I had found my new lunch spot. Went with some friends and ordered a Borgo box to go, as I had checked out the group decided to eat there instead of back at the office. My friend who was last to check out at the counter told me apparently this irritated the owner because he gave me a "to go" box? We laughed it off and commented on his over eagerness. 10 minutes or so into our meal he sends one of his workers out to ask for the Borgo box back. Not sure if I was going to finish my sandwich or if I would have leftovers I hesitantly handed the box over, thinking they might have some unknown shortage of boxes. After paying $15 for a sandwich, broth, and cookie, apparently the box is not included in that hefty price. As I thought about the whole odd issue, I am pretty sure re-using a container (or Box in this case) that had food in it previously, is a health code violation. Owner seems really over eager like others have stated, hoping this post will let him know to ease up on customers and especially on his staff. I had high hopes for this place, but I cant imagine how many other health code violations he is willing to overlook to save a buck.

Great place. Lots of options, everything looks fresh, and the prices are reasonable. I stopped by and got a cup of coffee (espresso), nutella cannoli, and a frozen dinner. The coffee was great and very reasonably priced. The cannoli was delicious. Dont be surprised. When they say nutella cannoli it really is a shell with nutella inside (no traditional cream filling). Regardless, the shell was good and its hard to go wrong with nutella. Havent cooked the frozen dinner yet. Looking forward to trying it. This may become my go-to afternoon coffee spot.

I finally decided to stop driving by this place all the time, and just go in on a Saturday morning for a little bit of lunch. This place is a gem and I cannot wait to go back. All of the food was so beautifully presented that I ended up getting lunch as well as takeout for dinner and lunch the next day. I even liked the eggplant (and I normally HATE eggplant). I agree with one of the other reviewers, places like this are one of the reasons that I love Houston.

I am impressed with this establishment. Reminds me of why I love Houston so much- all the neat and different eateries! As a vegetarian I was able to find great options for lunch. The yucca chips are delicious, and the owner is nice and helpful. I kind of felt like I was back in Italy for a moment - a nice flashback!

Prices seem really high for the amount of food provided. Its not super fancy either. I feel like I should be able to walk away with a full stomach for less than 12 dollars. It tasted good though. I would eat here once a week if the prices were just a little lower.

The food is basic. The food has its simple elements and nothing more. The atmosphere is friendly but I wouldnt go there if youre expecting extraordinary or crave fulfilling flavors during your lunch break.
