Made this, my first trip to Weinbergers, back in June of 2016. We didnt know exactly what we wanted so we stood behind a table far way from the actual line. A customer in a large group behind us asked in a rude manner if we knew what we we were going to order (asking us in a polite way would have been great). Thing was we werent even in line (I followed instructions online that said stand back if you dont know what you want). We let the large group pass us and then got in line. None of the employees greeted us with a smile. They were very matter-of-fact like robots but the cashier had a nasty attitude. Based on previous comments it sounds like the owner needs to take a customer service 101 class. Im pretty sure being a prick cost Harvey Gough a lot of business (Goffs hamburgers, Dallas) and while it hasnt seemed to hurt Jack Perkins (Maple & Motor, Dallas) at least his employees come across as friendly. Anyways, we had a very strange unfriendly conversation containing many long awkward pauses with the cashier who needed us to tell her what we ordered even though we had already ordered it. There may need to be an operations 101 class because it doesnt make much sense for customers to place orders twice, particularly when your employees arent trained to have friendly conversations with customers. It also doesnt make much sense to assign order numbers without giving people actual physical numbers (either on a receipt or otherwise). Im pretty sure most of the old customers couldnt remember their last name much less an order number. The only other issue I had with the joint was the size. It was very cramped which could be part of the reason there was so many negative emotions in there. There isnt much one can do about the size especially since the place gets super busy and probably needs all the tables it can get. Still, Id look to see if there are any ways to rearrange it because as it stands it only takes on person throwing out trash to create a backlog such that one can not reach the area with the utensils. (btw, the holes in the trash are a bit smaller than they should be. Minor issue). In terms of the food, I ordered the Dragons Breath. It was a very good sandwich. Not the best Ive ever had but still very good. I like spicy and it delivered on that. I found the value proposition to be very high due to very large portion sizes. My friend ordered the meatball sandwich. If you like meatball sandwiches then Im sure you will like it. I just tasted the actual meatballs with sauce and Ive definitely had better (in fact I had better meatballs this week at Bellinis Cafe in Dallas).

I see a lot of 5 and 4 star reviews. Im sorry to the owner but I have to say it. I really wanted to like it. Was looking forward to a Gyro. Im from Chicago so maybe I shouldnt compare it to what I can get there. First, its a beef lamb mix. I was told its 80% lamb 20% beef. I asked them to take out the 20% beef. "No can do. Its made that way." Second, its microwaved. Third, the gal taking my order was so rude. She was playing some game on her phone as she took my order and as I paid. Didnt even look at me. Actually that IS a Chicago attitude. I never did and still dont appreciate it now. This is not nor should be like an Ed Debevics. Chicago is rude, Texas is not. The final straw. Im eating my Gryo and seriously wanting to like the place. I look up and disgusted by the filth. The ceiling was so dirty! Three fans blowing. All covered with dust and grime/greese. I wanted to cover my food. Im not sure how this place passes a city health inspection. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen is! Maybe Im just to picky on a clean eating environment. First and last time eating here.

Dan, the owner of Weinbergers Deli, gave us the best most sincere welcome to Grapevine. We just moved here and went to explore Main Street one evening. The moment we walked in to his Deli we knew it would be quality from the meat and cheeses he has in the front display. He came out from around the corner, introduced himself... asked what types of sandwiches we liked.... he welcomed us to Grapevine and told some fun things to do around our new town... After talking for 15 minutes or so he told us to pick a table and he was going to make us dinner.. on the house! We said no way and that he didnt have to do that for us and he laughed, "Its my store... Ill do what ever I want..." We had the best sandwiches we had had in years.. my boyfriend is from New York and he is so excited to have a Deli that reminds him of home... Take your friends and tell your family to head to Dan Weinbergers Deli on Main Street in Grapevine! Excellent food- the best customer service! I am headed back to try the Cuban or mabey the New Yorker! Mmmmm!

Honest to God, this is the place that turned me into a foody. When you walk in, ignore the big board menu on the wall! **Go for the small, paper menu** The wall only shows a tiny fraction of the dozens of offerings. Ive tried 95% of the paper menu and never been disappointed. (I actually write my ratings on my menu and carry it with me so I can decide what to have this week.) Im a big flavor kind of guy, so I lean towards the corned beef, pastrami, etc. My 5 star pick is the LA Late Night. But theres really nothing bad on the menu. The Rubens are fantastic and the subs are HUGE!! If youre hungry, try the Father Dolans or the Heros Hero. Chef Dan is a real pro and can whip up anything you can think of. I once came in during a power outage. The sandwich I had my heart set on required the grill, but Dan improvised and got me satisfied! One thing to keep in mind, this place is small and super popular. Come early and, if theres more than 2 of you, get it to go.

Needed some dinner in a hurry, the sign said open, so I stopped. I didnt know what to order. The person working asked if I wanted spicy or mild. I said spicy and he recommended a Cuban with Serrano salsa. When the cashier came over to ring it in, he called it a "dragons breath". Despite how nervous I was hearing that name, the sandwich was DELICIOUS. Really, really good. It was very spicy, so be prepared. I am not sure if they make their own bread, but that whole sandwich was made with love. Worth the drive to Grapevine! Fresh, quality toppings and plenty of them. Really great customer service, I said I was in a hurry so he put half the sandwich in a basket and wrapped up the other half, without me asking. I ate the second half of the sandwich for lunch today, still awesome! Thank you!

Weinbergers is the best. You could always go to a chain and get yourself a crap sandwich, but if I were you Id go here instead. Your head will explode with awesomeness because it is so good. Other places are no comparison. This is a one of a kind place with out of this world food and service. Say you want to get yourself a Red Hot Mama (Hot Genoa, Pepperoni, Melted Provolone, Red Sauce, Grilled Onions & Peppers, Giardinerra Peppers on a tosated hoagie). This is probably the only place that offers something of that caliber. I hear that is a really good sandwich, but to me nothing is better than the LBV Cuban. If you dont go eat hear, you are ridiculous.
