I really dont recommend this place. At first I wanted to give it at least 2 stars but as I wrote on I couldnt find a reason besides it seemed clean. They tout being an izakaya but when you get there it really isnt. It reminds me of an American Japanese restaurant with all the Americanizing up front. I think the waitress described it better when she called it a gastro-pub, a fancy way of saying they serve food as well as alcohol. Yes they have sushi. Yes they have Japanese beer. No it doesnt feel Japanese at all. For those of you who dont know, an izakaya is a place you go to hang out with your friends, either at the bar or at a table, which usually takes longer and almost always requires a reservation (which they dont typically do without a guaranteed sale minimum). You order a beer and a bite and chat for a while, then repeat a few times. This place is more like a restaurant where youre in and out and chatting is done somewhere else. We were there for less than an hour and even then we felt rushed. The waitress actually started taking dishes off of the table before we were done eating. As for the cost, it really wasnt worth it. If the atmosphere has been better then it still would have been a little high considering the quality and quantity of food. If youre still wanting to go, the parking is at least convenient if not somewhat crumbling in places. We may have actually parked on gravel. They are located in a fairly new area. There are a few outside gas fire pits which make for nice places to visit while waiting for a table.

I some times wonder what peoples expectations are, the place has a good setting to socialize with someone but the quality, the taste, the price of the food is just unbalanced. Giving this place a 5 star is a slap to the face of Jiro Ono, sushi master. yes the food is alright for a quick bite but if you are looking for a well balanced sushi that has flavor, portions, and appearance then this is not your place. I have a friend that was persistent that this place was delicious and so I challenged this. We dined at this location and a different sushi restaurant of my preference. I didnt have to ask anything, my friend has now stopped dining at this restaurant because the eyes have been opened up. So this place is OK for the food youll get and the service, it is another average place.

Love the food, and the atmosphere.... service is spectacular. I prefer going at lunch; both the menu and prices are better.... The BYOB (Build your own Bento) is excellent, as is the chirashi-don. I liked the chicken kakiage a lot, but it was WAY too salty, apart from that, amazing dish. For dinner time, the food was tasty but too overpriced for the amount of food... I cant generally afford to eat here for dinner, its sister Tokyo Cafe is my preferred dinner spot. The okinomiyaki (I dont know if its on the menu now) is the only place to find this dish in Fort Worth; it was decent enough if youve never had it before, but the ones I make at home are much better. Im dying to try the sake steamed mussels. The cocktails are FIRST RATE.

I was blown away, we ordered "Omakase" Japanese word for Chefs Choice. Simply Amazing, we were given things that I never even imagined of trying before. Sake steamed black mussels yuzu butter, Beer braised pork buns in sapporo beer, Korroke crab & corn croquettes with togarashi aioli, hokkaido scallops & tuna tartar lotus root crisp, micro shiso. My personal favorites were the kampachi ceviche young yellowtail sashimi in yuzu- lime juice, diced jalapenos, cilantro, tomatoes and the jumbo crap over rice with brown butter. Simply delicious, I would have given this 5 stars, but Im trying to keep this opinion as critical and honest as I can.

If you like pretention, this is the place for you. They are damn lucky the food is outstanding. Imagine a resturaunt taking all the robust flavors and spices of japan and throwing them away to make pure unadulterated sushi. This is shinjuku. Nothing here it seems is seasoned, and just as much is cooked. Good thing too because every note of the fine fish and meat detectable. Now imagine you take the manners and traditions of the japanease, and replace them with the snobbery of the french..... This is shinjuku. Id i did not fall in love with cooking my meat on a riverstone like russ hannaman, id never reccomend this place.

This place is terrible. The fish quality is terrible. The only possible people who could not be offended by the quality of sushi here is possibly the phony hipsters only going there to be cool and literally people whove never had fish in their life. An utter disappointment. I have no clue how it has 4.6 stars, thats an embarrassment for Fort Worth to even claim this as decent sushi. Its pathetic the low standard weve set in North Texas for sushi. After I paid my almost $200 I walked out without finishing the majority of what Id sampled.

I ordered a vegan roll and it tasted like they grabbed celery and vegetables out of the trash and rolled it up. Paid $20 for miso and a veggie garbage roll. Plus on top of it all we got hit up twice for money in the parking lot. I thought we were going to get mugged. The guy asked us to go to an atm when we told him repeatedly we had no cash. Then he waited till we came back to our car and wouldnt leave us alone. We wont be going back. Get some security people.

Love this place. They have great vibe and quality of foods. Service is great. I would recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying the conversation with their employees they are fun and caring. Bradley was bar tender when I went there , I believe he was just helping them temporarily but he was pretty chill and enjoying the work. Will definitely recommend it !! Kat did great service and always made sure I had everything I ordered and needed.

A small place with a lively atmosphere. The food was all amazing, I cant wait to go back and sample the entire menu. The Sushi was spectacular and inventive, not Americanized in the slightest. Sushi chef Paul was friendly and knowledgeable, I would recommend the chefs special, for big sushi fans, just put yourself in the hands of the chef. Prices are moderate, but you get what you pay for. Best sushi in Ft Worth, hands down.

I would love to say! I have eaten sushi in a lot of places in the USA. The experience here has been very phenomenal , the service to the sushi chef and of course the food. My waitress Elizabeth explained everything, even though I knew a lot and I learned more and my sushi chef Kin was Absolutely wonderful. I was treated like a king I recommend everyone to try it. Im pretty picky theyre wonderful

Ordered the hamachi zest garlic roll and had a 2 inch bone in the roll. We informed our waiter and he responded by informing us that is normal and can happen sometimes. I will say that ANYTHING can happen SOMETIMES that doesnt make it excusable. So if the bone had choked me would there have been an excuse for it being in the roll? Also this is not a Japanese restaurant.
