I love Chicken Express and probably will to the day I die. I do not eat the chicken, though. I love the catfish, and I love the fact that it is almost always cooked while you are there and not prepared before you get there. I love the corn nuggets, the fried pickles, and even the french fries and the biscuits. When I am there, I always pick up my sister a gallon of the sweet tea as she claims it is the best sweet tea in Texas. Sometimes the wait is a little bit longer than you might want, but I have always been happy to wait to get the fresh fish.

The tenders are large and flavor is fine. Average is my rating for the food. The 2 or 3 times I have went inside to eat, I noticed it was quite dirty. You can see they dont clean beneath the tables or equipment used to make the food. It makes you wonder what other stuff isnt being done. At the drive thru I have notice they have stopped bagging the food and instead just give you the box. On 2 occasions the box has failed due to grease. I still go from time to time but the take away is this isnt a 5 star or even a 3 star location.

I am so happy to write this review because of the improvement we found when we visited the Ennis CE today. The Gravy is thick! We had been so disappointed with the runny gravy a couple times we stopped by(about 6/8 months ago) we decided to not eat here. Glad we decided to stop today on our way through town. Good group of workers too! Thanks!

Super hungry, we left before we could order. There were 4 people in front of us. Cashier took 10 minutes to take first order, and he was not even done when we left. Employees standing around in the back with piles of chicken done. Came here because of the 5 star reviews...

A large sweet tea for a dollar, chicken strips and fries. A great lunch or dinner option! Prompt service and nice staff, Id also suggest the cheese sticks if you havent tried them.

Great catfish!! Chicken, liver, gizzards...just great food. They will cook your fish fresh, if you are willing to wait 10 min. Its worth the wait. HAPPY, FRIENDLY STAFF. #1
