Eat Local! Our visit to the Time Machine was just the sort of experience my girlfriend and I were looking for on a recent evening visit to Denton, and as we would soon find out, it would deliver on all fronts. Always on the search for new, local restaurants to patronize, I saw the sign for Burger Time Machine and decided we should give it a try. My girlfriend said the place looked shady but my instincts told me we would be missing out if we didnt give the place a shot. As I started pulling away something changed her mind and she said "stop, turn around, because every time you get this feeling about a place that I am not too crazy about, we end up having a great time." As the only customers in the restaurant, we approached the counter and asked the cashier what he would recommend, keeping in mind that we were heading to Beth Maries afterwards (for a Lovers Sundae). Without hesitation Marcus, the cashier/cook/night manager, suggested that we get the #1, as it is so big it would be perfect to split, and some sweet potato fries. I thanked him for being so considerate and as we chatted, I found out that he is both a UNT graduate, and the type of genuinely kind person the world is in desperate need of. We took our seats in a booth towards the door and watched the Rangers game. Not too long after Marcus came to the table with two baskets, each filled with sweet potato fries and half of a monster hamburger, he had taken the initiative to cut our burger in half knowing we were going to split it anyway (I believe it is these small details that make a place worth re-visiting). As for the burger itself, despite being something I wouldnt normally order, Marcus suggestion was delicious. Grilled onions, jalapenos, and melted cheese on a thick, fresh hamburger patty - amazing. The fries too were good, and everything went well together, so well in fact, my girlfriend conceded that my instincts had once again proven reliable. For its combination of home-made ingredients, great taste, local charm (hand-painted signs in the window), and excellent service, I highly recommend that you go out of your way to give the Time Machine a visit. Local businesses like this could really use the support, and in no way are their offerings inferior to the chain restaurants you can visit anywhere else. Bottom line: Not the cheapest place to get a burger in town, but by no means expensive. If you are into eating great tasting food while supporting local entrepreneurs, the Burger Time Machine is a great choice. About Me: UNT graduate now living in Dallas/Costa Rica and patron of as many local businesses as I can support.

I visited Denton Texas a year ago while on a business trip! I love hole-in the wall places! Saw this place and had it give it a try! Amazing burgers! Grease dripping down my arm was just the type of homemade burger I was looking for!!! If the grease drips down your arm, you have a GREAT burger, kind my mama used to make! Yum yum! I am back in Denton Texas on a business trip again, and me and my co-workers just had to revisit this place again! Who cares how the outside or in side looks that actually tells me that Im in for best burger in town! We all enjoyed our experience a TM again! It was amazing! McDonalds is across the street and you will spend $9.00+ on a small meal deals. I would much prefer to spend my money on REAL BEEF BURGERS that are at TM then on so-called all meat patties! You get the REAL BEEF PATTIE here, I will be visiting this place whenever I come to Denton! #ilovegreasyburgers!!!

there is a great burger joint just s few blocks away from this place - Denton county independent hamburger company....as for burger time machine....one reviewer did not like the place overall but said their onion rings were good - I dont know because they were OUT of onion rings the day i was there. You read that right, a Texas burger joint had no onion rings..The burger was actually pretty good(I got the terminator) but the fries were absolutely terrible. Maybe they were having a bad fry day - it happens - the worst part was the cost - we ordered cheese fries and 4 burgers and our tab was over $70.00. We get the same thing regularly at Denton county for almost half the price and the food there is great, plus free refills on the sides. Why did I eat there? I was taking my son to college and DC burger company was closed on Sunday....

It was definitely busy at 12:30 on a Sunday. Quite a few kids in the restaurant at this time too. Atmosphere is casual with a number of sci-fi and movie posters. There are also vintage video games and a pool table. The burger selection is broad with a number of predefined combinations. When the burger came it was hot and juicy. The onion rings were some of the crispiest I have ever had. The fries were slightly seasoned and crispy too. Overall a great experience.

My first time in, and I loved the look and choices. The burgers were great and the onion rings are awesome. But it wasnt very busy, and we waited over 45 minutes to be served! Unfortunately, everyone there waited at least as long as us, and the order after us got all of their food except for one persons, and even when we were done, she was still waiting! For a casual, fast food designed restaurant, dont expect anything fast about this place!

Smells horrible when you walk in. All the tables were dirty and sticky. Food was good when they dont mess your order up. 2 out of 3 times Ive been it was messed up. Then they acted pissed off when I told them the last time so I just left without eating but still paid for everything. I really cant believe how this place is not shut down. Your better off going to McDonalds.

It smelled horrible when we walked it the door, I almost left and I wish I had. It was dirty everywhere, the tables were sticky, low lighting to hide their sins, they got one of our orders wrong. No one else was in the restaurant when we were there and I can see why. The burger tasted cheap and covered in old grease. And it gave me explosive diarrhea the next day.

So just walked in this place for the first time with the wife and was terribly disappointed. The African American girl behind the counter never acknowledged us while she stood 2 feet away packing a 2 go order. We stood around for about 2.5 minutes then walked out. Only 3 people in the place you would think a little customer service would be possible. Wont be back

Their food choices are amazing! They even have funnel cakes, I mean, no where has funnel cakes but they do! Yheit French fries ahavr some sort of amazing seasoning. Honestly the best fries Ive ever had. I have never had a coke so sweet before, and though Ive only had 3 of their burgers so far. Ever single one is amazing that Ive tasted.
