The first time I stumbled into Murray Street Coffee for a quick caffeine buzz, I had no idea I would be making this 20 minute trip on a regular basis. this nondescript corner of Deep Ellum almost seems forgotten along with the empty lot across the street, but inside youll find a relaxing atmosphere with dynamic art decorating the walls. Every time Ive been here the baristas spoke with friendly tones, and despite being busy did not rush me. I enjoy sitting outside sipping on a hot cappuccino or snacking on their variations of quiches. Im personally not a fan of sweets but their pastries are flaky and appetizing. The place is clean inside and out, and if you made a purchase you can use their equally clean restroom. I recommend this coffee shop to everyone in the area.

Was super excited when I got there. They have a nice 70s vibe, which completly fits my style. After spending sometime doing work there, I started getting slightly irritated because one of the staff members (I assume is the owner) would talk very loudly across the shop to the barista. Im cool with a loud atmosphere since this is a coffee shop but this was just very obnoxious, like I really dont need to know everything about you and your Facebook friends. From reading some of the reviews describing a rude employee I have no doubt they were talking about her.

Building was clean. Had a nice feel. Poor service. I felt like I was being talked down to when I was unsure of what to order (Menu for espresso drinks consisted of latte, cappuccino, mocha, and Italian cappuccino) I paid over $10 for a medium and small. The drinks tasted like they had little espresso in it. And my husbands mocha was grainy from the mocha powder at the bottom. As a fellow Batista I was VERY dissatisfied with how unwelcoming they were, the poor quality of the drinks, and the price. My gosh the price.

I happily call Houston home but I immediately felt at home in your corner shop, even though I was just passing through. Murray St. Coffee Shop is a straight shot to downtown for commuters in the morning but it could easily be an all-day enjoyably unproductive diversion for me. The building is distinctive; the neighbors friendly and interesting. Its a slice of what I have found down I-45 in Houston, and I was glad to see Dallasites (is that what you call yourselves?) have that same haven.

I love the flavor of the coffee here. The cold brew is great and it also looks like its a great place to get some work done, if you can find space. I also have had their hot chocolate, which you can get with regular milk, soy, or almond. I had it with soy milk and it had great flavor. I think next time I come back, I will get a mocha to have a little kick. They also roast their own beans right next to where they brew your coffee, so you know its fresh.

The coffee is good but slightly overpriced. The shop itself is a great place for studying and has a nice environment. My biggest complaint is the girl who works there. Shes younger maybe in her 30s and I dont believe is the owner. She has been very snotty all three times I have been in there and it is only her with this demeanor never the older ladies. Furthermore, I am not a difficult orderer; so, I dont know what her problem is.

Today, after sitting inside for about 2 hours, I was bothered twice about buying something from the shop. The woman was rude about it as well. I had to reassure her that I would buy something eventually. I felt like a child being nagged by her mother. I have also overheard her talking down on some of the customers in prior visits. This used to be my favorite coffee shop, but not anymore.

Great coffee, really good food, and lets call it "eclectic" service. The people at Murray street are great. The staff really appreciates their regulars and the regulars really love their coffee shop. Inviting common area are essential for strong communities and this coffee shop fills that need for the Deep Ellum and Downtown communities.

Good atmosphere, not enough seating, really rude service. Tried to order an Italian Macciato and the older woman taking my order assumed I was a Starbucks regular and that I didnt know what I was ordering. Ended up with something I did not want, and she seemed upset that I wanted more than just a normal cup of coffee.

I ordered my normal request at every coffee shop I visit and was charged $7 dollars for it, only for her to forget the vanilla syrup. I was not overly impressed with the flavor of the espresso and noticed that they used Great Value half and half. It was okay.... not what I would have liked for over $7.

Really.enjoyed the coffee and the prosciutto and ciabatta sandwich was amazing. Big drawback was there seemed to be a pretty big gnat problem upstairs -they were prolific and everywhere! Didnt notice the problem downstairs. Would definitely return if the gnats were taken care of.

Great coffee, great service and cool set up/vibe! Nice area to sit outside and walking distance from Baylor Medical Dart Station! ALSO, I had the oatmeal for a quick breakfast and it was delicious-topped with bananas, blueberries, raspberries, and black berries! I will be back!

Great Place! I love the quirky set up. Not to mention, that they serve a superb shot of espresso! They have two stories worth of seating and a calm atmosphere for studying or chatting on the street tables. My only wish is that they kept later hours

This is a little hole in the wall coffee shop I take a walk to several times a week. The folks behind the counter are always polite, and the coffee is tasty to boot. Ive had cold brew coffees, lattes, regular coffees, and mochas. All are delicious.

It is a very nice coffee shop. It was not busy at all. Soft background music was filling the air and the whole environment is relaxed. The coffee is really good and sandwiches are ok, nothing special but with a home made feeling in them.

I love this place. Great coffee and very friendly. I had been going here for a couple months when I accidentally left my wallet at home one morning. They gave me my usual latte and bagel and let me just pay them later.

I cant recommend this place enough! I stop by all the time in between appointments downtown to get a quick coffee and check my email. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and they have vegetarian options!

Coffee is good as are the sandwiches. Has a great vibe, more reminiscent of a Chicago or NY than Dallas. Staff however behaves as youre really putting them out if you order more than a simple drink.

My coffee home away from home. Liz and the gang are some of my favorite people to wake up to and they are the perfect people to help keep my caffeine habit going.

Skye was nice. Understood that I didnt know what I wanted to order. I told her what I liked and she got me something that I liked. Yay to Iced Mocha Latte.

Awesome location and decor. It did not receive 5 stars because Im very particular with coffee quality. Best coffee on this neighborhood anyhow.
