I really liked this place, so why just 4 stars? Small oversights is what I see. A good example is the pancakes. If you like blueberry pancakes, you will go crazy over these, never had pancakes so full of plump fresh blueberries. Only flaw, no blueberry compote, just a thin, sugar-based syrup. A hot thick blueberry topping would makes these 7-star. I had the Eggs Benedict and the short stack came as an extra so I had them brought as a dessert. The waitress did just like I wanted, brought them hot after I finished the main course. She gets 5-stars! Plenty of coffee and it was better than most. Little steel pitcher of milk, with the coffee - I like that. The hollandaise was assertively on the lemon side, sort of thinnish piece of Canadian bacon. Better than average overall, nice egg consistency on the poached eggs. On the Hash Brown; I dont like the formed square generally, these were better than most. The "Bacon Love" added some flavor but I dont think I would like them without eggs or gravy or something on them. I had the sauce and egg yolks to play with .They could do better on potatoes 3-star potatoes. The plating is just the assembled Benedict and a rectangle of potatoes on a plain white plate - not visually attractive. Breakfast is the meal I really like to eat out, cooking first thing in the morning just doesnt work for me ever. I like to go later, 10-11am, and then its my leisurely breakfast and lunch, the all day breakfast menu wins here. I go out of my way to eat at the local non-chain diners and this place fits. The Crossroads left me full and happy, it was not perfect but I will be back to try more items. Reactions to quality of ones table service is very subjective, I found mine to be excellent but so many things influence the evaluation of that interaction. My service reviews are left in the form of gratuities.

Went from Houston to Dallas for the weekend. Checked the D Magazine for the best breakfast in Dallas and Crossroads Diner was on the List (Not to my surprise, today I checked the D magazine and they are no longer there). I ordered the Eggs and... with smoked bacon, asked for a side of sausage. My wife ordered the buttermilk pancakes that came with chorizo. When we dine out, the first thing my wife reaches for will be the salt shaker. Here, the first bite from the pancakes she complained about them being excessively salty... I give credit to the manger as she took them off the bill. As for my meal: If a hen ever laid XS eggs, then they were on my plate. The 2 eggs seemed like 2 yolks with one white! The bacon was ok but for sure not smoked. The sausage was nothing that could be called a sausage. It was made of dense meat finely ground and hand rounded where the fingers were obvious on the formation. No taste no spice... I grabbed the chorizo from my wifes plate. The chorizo tasted great as it was actually Armenian Sujuk and not a chorizo. Armenian sujuk is NOT a breakfast food due to the high dose of spices used in the preparation. Great job D magazine... you do upgrade your ratings!! but I wish I it happened before this adventure.

One of our favorite, go-to breakfast places. Its an open bright, clean space. The seating is actually quite open, unlike a lot of breakfast places. OK, so I cant give you a lot of recommendations because I cannot get enough of their Breakfast Tostada. At their old location, it was a special, so it was hit or miss that we could get it. We started begging for them to make it on off days, because it was sooo good. Seriously, try this thing. Now, if you dont think you deserve the awesomeness of the Breakfast Tostada, here are two other recommendations: - Seriously consider their specials, they are usually good or great - Crossroads frittata - roasted red pepper, chorizo( not greasy), and goat cheese; hash browns, rye toast A very cool thing they do is make their own jam/jelly from scratch. So good. OK, now the pancakes. Two recommendations: - If you like blueberry pancakes, try theirs; so many fresh blueberries... - If you are getting plain pancakes, try their homemade jam/jelly instead of syrup; its really good (but I recommend against doing this with blueberry pancakes; too. much. fruit.) Great service. Efficient seating. Everyone should check them out for their amazing breakfast.

Great place for a laid back, simple brunch. It was a welcoming family friendly environment. There was a wide variety of options on the menu for a more than fair price so that was a plus. For me, what set them apart? Amazing grits, I had never had thick cut parmesan grits before, it is something of a hidden treasure. I didnt care for the orange juice situation, as much as I appreciate fresh squeezed OJ, not everyone enjoys chewing their juice, that was a bit unaccommodating to say the least. The staff are knowledgeable on the menu, able to help guide you to a enjoyable meal that suits your taste buds. We will be back. I give it 3 stars for lack of pulp free OJ, if they step their game up and get a strainer, we can add some Stars.

It was my first time visiting the "crossroads diner", let me tell you this place is a diamond in the rough. If you didnt know about this diner you would pass right by it without a second thought. The first sign that it would be a good place to eat was the immense amount of cars and people present. Our server was Joanna. Shes so sweet and friendly. Joanna tended to our every need in a timely fashionable manner. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS; I had the crossroads breakfast with blueberry pancakes, bacon, eggs, & grits. This was by far the best breakfast Ive had in a while. I definitely advise anyone to try this place if youre looking for great food while being able to enjoy the peaceful ambiance. A+

This is next-level brunch. Crossroads is serious about breakfast food. The details are what sets this apart from your ordinary diner. The eggs in the benedict/florentine are perfect. The waffles are actually waffles (not pancakes molded in a waffle press). You can just taste the balance in the food. Brunch is something that can be slapped together really quick, but Crossroads adds a level of craft to brunch that I just havent had in Dallas. Its always packed, but the brunchy vibe is great. It just feels good to hang out with friends here. If youre a brunch connoisseur, you owe it to yourself to grab some friends, wait in line and eat some brunch made by people who care about food.

I tried this Sunday morning. I was looking for some good southern breakfast food. While I did not experience bad service as some of these reviews have stated I was disappointed in the food to certain degree. I wasnt that impressed with the biscuits. For $2 for a biscuit, it means they have to be really good. The biscuits were very big but were very dense and almost looked like rolls. The sausage really didnt have that much flavor. I was rather disappointed, it look homemade but could have used a little more browning on the cooking side. I will give them another try however I would like to try the pancakes . The homemade jam was excellent and so was the coffee.

I took my wife to breakfast at Crossroads because she likes the place. As a motorcyclist, we road the bike over there and walked in with our helmets. We were shown a place to sit out of the way of other customers in a chilly serving area. The wait was not long but the service on the meal was less than stellar. I had to make a request to the manager, the wait staff did not respond to a request for ketchup for a good 8 to 10 minutes, for a common breakfast condiment. It put a bit of a damper on an enjoyable morning ride because of the appearance of discrimination at a Dallas restaurant. May I advise any two wheelers to try a friendlier venue.
