Ive been to this place 2 times. Once as an omnivore and, most recently as a vegetarian. I was surprised to see all of the vegetarian items noted on the menu. Often breakfast places will offer a veggie omelet with no imagination and a few meat-free items(read: hash Browns, eggs, pancakes). Another broken egg has a bunch of vegetarian items and they are well thought out. From interesting grits to black bean Benedict, its definitely a place Ill go again. The restaurant is well decorated and clean. They have their own custom mugs and light fixtures. Both times the staff has been respectful and helpful. The first time we sat at the bar and my coffee was refilled about 20x. Everytime hed go by, a little splash to top it off. I drink it black so, no adjustments need to be made. The last time, I asked twice, which is fine. My mug wasnt empty either time. My gfs tea was but, then the waiter brought an entire pot of hot water to brew at will. The food is good, well thought out and well prepared. Its definitely one of our top 5 breakfast joints so far. The comment about racism nearly prevented a return visit but, I provided possible explanations and logic. The gf was amenable to giving it another shot. She is often the only non-white patron and is very sensitive to sexism/racism(insert - ism at will). She hates things I would never notice. She hasnt commented on anything at Another Broken Egg, though the sample size is small. On the first visit, the place was packed at like 10a on a Saturday and I remember commenting that everyone in there was white. At 10a on a Monday, about 20% of the clientele was non-white. Everyone was treated courteously. This wasnt intended to be an endorsement or a rebuttal, just our experience.

Ive lived in the White Rock area for over 20 years, and believe me the idea of a good (sic) new breakfast place opening in Casa Linda was WELCOME!! Barbecs is a bust. Cafe Lago is INTOLERABLE because of the owner. Gave it a couple of weeks before trying it...First of all, did these new owners realize they are in an area surrounded by incredible artists? When I walked in I felt that I had just entered the dining hall at C.C.Young, or Autumn Leaves....fake flower arrangements, HORRIBLE,fake, mass-produced paintings...that wall color!!??? Those NASTY coffee mugs??!! OOOHHH MYYY GAAAWWWD!! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!!!??? I guess theyre thinking chain restaurant, which it is, but could they not jazz up the place to keep it out of the retirement community decor? Can we say Buzz-Drews??? Can they get local art on the walls? By the time I got to the food, I was soo disheartened, that even the BEST breakfast would not make it better...it wasnt and it didnt! WHAT A DISSAPOINTMENT!!! A totally DULL, UNINSPIRED PLACE! ll eat at home.

Went in Sunday right after Christmas. Third time must be the charm. Sat at the so-called bar. Mustve been the worst waitress in the place. Ordered a very pricey breakfast called a Southern Crabstack. Waitress offered me a few drinks. Which coffee or soda pops. Wasnt in the mood for those. Pulled an all niter at the hospital. Asked for a bloody mary. Gave it to me without the okra & lime that usually comes with it. She said they they didnt have any prepared. She left the bar to wait on a table. A waiter came up so I asked him if they was out. He took a look down in the fridge and told me there was some. Asked her and she told me she was busy to worry about one drink. Asked for a manager and she told me she was a manager. Not going to worry about it anymore. Me or my friends at the hospital wont be going back to the hole.

The descriptions on the menu sound really good. But, when you receive the food, it is a great disappointment. They put in one or two of the listed ingredients (one mushroom in an omelette where mushrooms are a major ingredient!). Have you ever had basil chiffonade that was brown, crunchy and resembled dried seaweed? When you order an exciting-sounding omelet and get mostly dry scrambled eggs (but you pay an expensive omelet price), it dampens your appetite. Dont make my mistake (twice). Demand that they correct your order (when they serve you the wrong omelet), add the ingredients that are listed on the menu (more than one piece of the ingredient) or that they dont cook the omelet until it is as dry as a bone. Better yet, dont go there! Spend your money somewhere else where you get better food for the price!

I was referred to this restaurant, so I decided to stop by with my mom. I was unhappy with the service. She was nice, but was only at our table four times...to take our order, deliver food, get our payment, and return our change. She never asked how things tasted or refilled coffee/water. Unfortunately, she didnt get the order correct. We were not happy with the food overall as well. The grits were undercooked, the sausage tasted a little funny, and the English muffin was cold. I had such high expectations, but I doubt well go back.

After much procrastinating I finally went this morning and tried this place out. Long wait but it was Sunday morning near 10am and a nearby road race was over. Service was great and my wife loved her sweet potato pancakes. Bacon was top notch. On the downside my eggs were over cooked and crispy and potatoes were average. I can cook better potatoes and eggs myself. Grits were great as well. Will come back and try other menu items. Walked out still hungry and $33 lighter in my wallet.

Four of us ate breakfast on 01/02/10. The chorizio omelet was tasteless. My husband said his biscuits and sausage gravy were "okay". One friend had dollar pancakes and they were so tough she had to cut them with a knife. The other friend simply didnt say a word. The reason we ate here is we had eat at The Broken Egg in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and it was delicious. I would stay far, far away from this restaurant unless they make drastic changes in food quality.

The only complaint we have about Another Broken Egg Cafe is that they close early in the day so we cant eat there as often as we would like to. The food is great with some unique recipes and a huge lineup for any fan of eggs, omelettes, Benedicts and theyve got some excellent pancakes and waffles. Those cinnamon roll pancakes tho... give them a shot, if you love your protein that is! Like Cats, Games, Anime or Cool Tech? Check us out! @kitty_bit_games #kittybitgames

My husband and I tried the restaurant for the first time last weekend, against our better judgment and poor references from friends. For just the two of us, breakfast was over $35, NOT including tip. Ive spent less for a steak dinner. Food was good, but average and certainly not worth the price. Now, if you want a great breakfast for the money, travel on down the road a piece to Barbecs!! That place is amazing!
