I am a fan.....BUT.... This concept could be so much more and generate more sales. First, can someone please tell me why a store aimed at 10 year old girls has impossibly large and heavy entry doors? I am 62”, 200lb male and find the doors a burden. If the store concept was run more like Disney World, sales would be so much stronger. Here is what I mean- happy customers, engaged visitors mean longer visits and higher sales. Management needs to train employees to always be positive, engaging, enchanting. This is a store built off the idea of merchandising stories from books after all, not unlike Disney. I expect me and my daughter to be greeted immediately upon arrival. I expect someone to want to help us explore and discover the latest available, help guide us, tell us a story about an element or doll while bringing us on a journey. Offer us a water, a seat if applicable, inform us where to refresh. Ask if you can arrange reservations in the cafe. Each employee should be trained to discuss the stories, share trivia, know the merchandise. I should feel like each employee would like nothing more than to help me anytime, anywhere. The store should reflect the times with much more technology engagement / interaction discovery sales tools. The premium price on the brand means I expect the store to be polished, clean, organized, without broken light fixtures, without displays in transition. Employees should be trained to engage with respect to the product and be ready to wow the customer by exceeding expectations- perhaps offering a band aid, a tissue, assisting with a disruptive or unhappy little one by offering a topical entertainment piece or suggestion to help keep the party on track to discover the entire store and keep the enchanting experience. This concept is great (and extremely expensive). However, it is not a brand which commands a position so entitled that it doesnt need to work at achieving a top customer experience for top dollar sales.

I visited this store on 12/13/2015 and I have mixed reviews. I knew exactly which doll I wanted and even had 4 alternates in mind in the event that the doll wasnt available. To my surprise every dark doll and every medium doll was out of stock. I asked a lady for assistance and I was told that "those dolls were limited and I could look at Addy" and I was brushed off. I later decided to select the Kaya doll and just opt for a couple of outfits and accessories. I found a set of accessories that was perfect for the little girl for whom the doll would be for but I could not find the actual box. I looked around the store for an associate and asked a lady if she was busy. She told me, while physically pushing me out of the way that she was "a person shopper and she was with a client" I did not catch her name but she was an older black lady with a short haircut. I totally understand that she was with someone else at the moment but there was no reason for her to touch me. Moments later a really nice younger black lady with short hair (whose name I didnt catch also) helped me locate exactly what I was looking for and offered additional assistance. I was also helped by a younger blonde named Melanie who was very helpful and pleasant. I came from another state to shop at this store and I purchased a doll and several items. The trip was not a waste, the doll I purchased is beautiful and I cant wait to come back to try out the salon.

Worst business ever! Long story short, I ordered my daughter a doll and paid extra shipping fees to have it shipped to me in two days only to discover the next day that our package would not be here until 6 days later... her party is tonight. Called and, I thought, got this mess fixed. I was told our package would indeed be here Saturday, today...the day of the party. Sadly, I checked FedEx tracking this morning to see when it would arrive and saw it would not be here until Monday, after paying for the rush shipping. Breaks my heart that our daughter has asked for only ONE thing; an American Girl Doll and she will have nothing tonight for her big day. I am so disappointed. As much as I hate to, I will tell all of our friends and all of her friends mothers about this experience in hopes that something like this doesnt happen to them and their daughters. One lady who assisted me even suggested that I, "just cut out a pic of a doll and give that to her and tell her it will be here later." Seriously? She is turning EIGHT. She will NOT understand that. Makes for a very sad, disappointed little girl. Not one person at your business offered to do one thing to make this right! Dure, they are going to credit back the 20 dollars we paid extra for two day delivery, but how will this help the issue at hand. I pray no other momma has to deal with this. Missy

Terrible service at AG Dallas Galleria almost ruined our experience. Planned a weekend trip to Dallas for the sole purpose of getting the doll salon services and a birthday lunch in the bistro. Called AG which verified reservations were not needed for the salon, services would be available through 8pm. We got there at 5 pm. All booked with reservations for three hours, except for ear piercing. So we selected that. The salon stylist took the dolls to the back and returned 3 minutes later with the earrings done, no experience with the dolls being in the salon chairs and the girls having a fun experience. For some reason the stylist was rude. We had a reservation for the bistro for a birthday occasion. We waited almost 10 minutes at the table before anyone acknowledged we were there. I asked the server whether they could do a birthday dessert with some candles, which I saw at another table. She said, "Ill see what I can do." Not very enthusiastic considering guests are there for the experience. Never brought anything for the birthday. The food was ok, a salad was actually pretty good. The server tried to up charge us the adult price for a 2 year old, saying, "oh I had no idea she was (under 4)." ? Overall pretty disappointing.

While my daughter loves shopping here and bring her doll to get pampered, the staff here is completely unprepared to deal with the crowds that arrive during peak shopping hours. We waited over an hour just to check our doll into the salon. I kept myself amused during this time cataloging the ratio of time the single customer service rep spent actually dealing with customers vs just walking around behind the counter looking confused (3:2). We missed having dinner with the rest of our family because the estimated wait time posted at the start of the line was drastically off, but after waiting in line I could not convinced my daughter to abandon the hope of smooth doll hair without a major meltdown. I would recommend timing your visit to miss the crowds, otherwise the hassle of getting any service will outweigh the pleasure of the visit.

If you want a cheap doll.... go to a big box store. These are high quality well made dolls that your child can plan to save for their children. The store is awesome.... and even if you cant afford the services... its so cool to look. We got our dolls secondhand and traded up until we found Samantha we loved.... and then my parents bought my daughter a new baby. We got the biddy babies on e-bay. They are so dear to my little girl. Again... come here to look and go to Toys R Us.... afterwards if you want a cheap knock off. Theres plenty of places online that sell cheap clothes, but bottom line is they fall apart - unlike the items we find at this store. Thanks AG!!
