I once enjoyed the All Good very much, but no longer. Mainly because of owner/manager Mikes inhospitable, assholic approach to service. I ask you, should someone who comes early with family and friends in order to get a good table for dinner and live music, someone who racks up a $100+ bill, be asked to pay a $10 cover per guest, in addition to the bill, at the end of their meal just before the show starts? In cash only? And then be very bluntly and impolitely asked to leave when they question the cover? Um, no. I even offered to add the charge to our bill. NOPE. "Cash only. Pay or leave. There are other people who want your table." Really? Im pretty sure he delayed the start of the show until we were ready to leave, as well, inconveniencing the rest of the folks who wanted to stay. To add to the irritation, we were even asked by the hostess when she seated us if we were staying for the show (yes). She made no mention of a cash-only cover in addition to our dinner and drinks. Had she at least made mention of it, we would have been prepared and gotten cash or decided to leave early. It wouldnt have been so insulting if the service hadnt been so very very bad. It took almost 40 minutes after the bulk of our order arrived for one of us to get his main course. Drinks went empty and were never refilled. Server attitudes were indifferent. We intended to order desert but no one came to ask- we had to physically flag down a server to order it. We were harassed about every five minutes to leave after Mike made the Cover Charge request, yet no one put the same effort into bringing us our check. Believe me, we wanted to leave after receiving the treatment we had, but no one would bring our check. I finally had to cut one of the harassing staff members off in the middle of their harassment in order to request that someone please bring us our check so we could comply. The fastest anyone moved all night was when I finally had the opportunity to put my credit card on the table. Ill give them props for the food as it is usually very good. But being openly rude and hostile to your customers is unforgivable. We will never give you our money again under any circumstances.

Food is fair...Ill give the place that. But the attitude and service is deplorable. We walked in and stood waiting for someone to notice us when I saw the "hostess" staring at us from behind the counter, chin resting in her hands. She told us after I had to ask that we could seat ourselves.... after which she moved us to another location that suited her more. When I inquired about replacing toast w/ a biscuit on one of their breakfast combos I was told "it depends on your server". The server we got wouldnt let me. The biscuits were hard, the gravy cold. My companion dropped his fork and no one ever came back by to replace it. Our original table chosen was never occupied the entire time we were there. The table we were "moved to" was entirely too small for all of our dishes, so we had to use the one next to us for our overflow. I used to love AllGood. Ive enjoyed breakfast there in the past, lunches, dinners and the music. It has been a slow decline in quality and service. But this was the absolute worst. There is nothing about this place, save the music interest, that reflects the laid back friendly attitude of Austin. Please quit even suggesting a common bond - AllGood now radiates the disinterested vain vibe which is Dallas... only its projected by tattooed posers.

If their chicken fried steak is the best in the world. ..I have no idea what world they came from! Meat was so thin, burned then dipped in flour or whatever and fried...very bland...dirty tables that were wiped off with bleach right as we sat down! Dirty utensils also! We told the waitress it was our first visit and we needed a little bit. .she came to our table at least 5 times in 10 min!! Finally I told her as soon as,we make our choice I would wave her over...she VERY rudely said NO DO NOT WAIVE ME OVER WHEN YOUR READY PUT YOUR MENUS ON THE CORNER OF TBE TABLE!! So when we decided I of course waived her over because I had a,question about an item on the menu..she again VERY RUDELY SAID I TOLD YOU NOT TO WAIVE ME OVER HERE AND I TOLD YOU TO PUT YOUR MENUS ON THE SIDE OF THE TABE!! Really..I said do we need another waitress to help us..we should have just walked out but we read they had the best chicken fried steak in tbe world NOT!!! ALL GOOD CAFE SHOULD BE RENAMED TO ALL BAD CAFE!! Stay far away from this place! It cost us $35.00 for the worst meal ever...but there is an upside I gave my leftovers to a poor old man that was digging in tbe trash for food...he was very happy and I sure hope he enjoyed it.

My son and I visited Allgood Cafe for the first time today and did not have a good first impression. The owner met me in the front of the restaurant and yelled at me in front of the other customers to take my drink outside claiming it could be alcohol (it was a diet coke). While I totally understand bringing drinks in an establishment can be frowned upon, it shouldnt have been treated in such a rude manner. This confrontation left me with such a bad taste in my mouth I was hoping that the food didnt. The only reason I stayed was because my niece works there and I didnt want to embarrass her by leaving, otherwise, I would have. Luckily, the food was good. I ordered the roasted chicken and my son the enchiladas. Nothing fancy, but it was a good lunch. Im not sure Ill visit again because being a hard-working professional like myself, customer service goes a long way for me. I dont appreciate being treated like a 21 year old bar hopper in Deep Ellum when Im just trying to find lunch for me and my son.

Horrible Rude Staff! Asking for the simplest thing will be met with an attitude and even a refusal! My mother was even told she could NOT order extra food for her family before they arrived! Huh? Since when can you not order everything on the menu as long as you pay for it?? They said she could only order what she could eat. Its NOT a buffet so .. that makes no sense that they would not want to make money. We also tried to call an order in by phone and got refused even though we wanted to pay by phone. There are a million places to eat in this city. Go somewhere that you will be treated like you are welcome and appreciated! Read the reviews! And check Yelp! Again and again you will find complaints on the staff. You rarely remember the food ..but you always remember how you are treated.

So Ive been here years ago and everything was great. I recently went there for lunch and the food wasnt all that great. Not sure if they got new workers/cooks or what. But I met a friend there and they had yet to bring her water, and when I sat down no one came over to see if I needed a menu or anything. It wasnt that crowded so didnt understand why it took them so long to bring out our food. Once I got my food, it wasnt good, I could barely eat my chicken it had so much gristle in it, I could hardly chew it. This use to be a staple in the area and I know a lot of people who work at the hospital go here. But maybe they were having an off day or something. Not sure if Id dine here again. Thing is, one of my friends used to play there so maybe Ill just order drinks next time.
