Very disappointing!!! Dont waste your money here. My friend and I wanted to try a new restaurant in the Bishop Arts area as the majority of the restaurants there are great. Not this one. First, we opted to sit at the bar to not wait 2 hours for a table. We were happy about this and assumed the service would be faster, right. Wrong!! We waited over an hour and a half after placing our order. Plus, the food was awful and not hot when we got it. The house brew iced-tea was terrible. It was weak and looked more like watered down apple juice than tea and had no taste at all. They burned my biscuits, literally and figuratively; and the food was very bland and the chicken was under-cooked. My friends food was equally bad. The red velvet pancake was looked like a misshaped mud puddle and had no taste at all. Many other patrons were not as patient as we were, and opted to leave after being seated and waiting more than several minutes to get water and/ or a menu. Servers were not attentive, nor efficient. BTW, Dont be fooled or suckered in by the outdoor seating, it just looks busy. More than half the customers are disappointed. They just want a place to sit outside for free. I do not recommend this place at all. This was our first and only visit. I will not return. If this place keeps at this pace, they will be closed in one year. For this area, (Bishop Arts), there is no excuse for failure. It is not the area, Oddfellows has a very poor product(s) and service.

Oddfellows should be my favorite spot in Dallas, except for some major problems that should probably be addressed. I found the coffee phenomenal- both the espresso and french roast. I also loved the food, and the environment, from the interior to the cute rustic patio. I had to convince my brother to take me here when I visited, because despite the great food and coffee, he had had bad experiences with service before. His repeat trip did not solve this. We waited for an excruciatingly long time for Saturday brunch, only to find out that our spot had been skipped over mistakenly. We were promised that we would get special attention due to the error, but in fact our food took forever to come, our coffee was not ready when our brunch was served, ect. I found all of this forgivable, except that a member of my party ALSO had terrible food poising which kept him bed ridden for two days. We know it was from the Oddfellows duck, because 1) The doctor diagnosis 2) The timing of illness is consistent with Oddfellows, and the duck was the only thing he ate the entire day that was not also consumed by the other 3 people in the party. I want to come back here because of the great environment and amazing food/drink, but the poor service (also documented by many other reviewers) and possibility for repeat food poisoning make this unlikely.

I have no idea what the food tastes like here. Went there in the recommendation of a friend tonight. We walked in the open door & the pink haired hostess asked if she could help us. We told her we had a party of 7 or 8 & as we were trying to figure out the amount of people, she said "uh, actually we are closed. I just checked my phone." I told her that the door we just walked through was wide open & that they ought to close it once we leave to let people know theyre closed. We walked in the door right at 10pm on a busy Friday night. They didnt want to seat a large party at closing. I get that. But the hostess was flat out rude , did not apologize for essentially kicking us out & gave us a snotty look like " you think Im gonna seat a 7 top at closing? Get the hell out!". We had no idea of the time nor their hours, but I definitely know now that they suck at service & I wont even bother going back. Customer service no longer exists & Odd Fellows only reinforces that. Shameful!

Had breakfast here on October 1, 2016. We chose it because it was on D MAGAZINES list of the best breakfast places. We are now questioning Ds rating system. It wasnt crowded and we got right in so that was nice. Pros: French press coffee, athmosphere Cons: Oddfellows Benedict - eggs over cooked, not enough hollandaise sauce, kale not braised maybe sautéed but not enough. Still crispy, ham was not country ham. Breakfast croissant - croissant was extremely dry not sure if it was toasted or just stale, cheese was not melted, sandwich seemed to be just thrown together. Service - spotty at best. The young lady was very sweet but had to be reminded a couple of times that we had ordered French press coffee. Did not check back on us more than once. The only reason Im giving it a two was the coffee. It was great. This place, based on our experience is overrated Its definitely NOT worth the trip across town from Richardson.

We went in a fairly large group this morning for brunch. They were busy, but the service was quite lacking even given the crowd. It took a half hour to get anything from the bar and we had to ask three times about a bloody mary order. One member of our group had nearly raw eggs in her huevos rancheros; three bites in, she brought it to the attention of our server; he took it away, asked if she wanted anything else then she was charged full price for the meal she couldnt eat. Another of our group got charged for drinks she ordered but never got. Two instances of very overcooked, very dry eggs. Not a great experience overall - luckily we just enjoyed each others company and the beautiful weather, because the food and service experience were quite disappointing. We all drove quite a distance to go here because we heard it was great - we wont be dropping a combined $400+ for brunch again here.

The food is good, when it comes out correct. The first time I ate at oddfellows, my $8 scrambled eggs came out cold. Today, my breakfast taco came with rosemary potatoes inside it. I didnt ask for potatoes. Thr rosemary clashed with the delicious salsa that comes with the taco, and ruined it for me. I didnt complain because I knew it would take forever to get a new one. The coffee is frequently all gone, and the service is slow and Inattentive. One time I paid $3.60 for a teabag and hot water that was steeped too long and the tea turned bitter. I love the place, but every time I leave there, I keep thinking to myself, why do I keep going back? Because the service is never good and I dont feel like Im appreciated as a repeat customer. They seriously need to rethink some of their waiters, one in particular, whom Ive had at least three times is terrible.

The mocha coffee is great... Once we were served. We ordered two coffees and waited about 20 minutes to get one. We then waited another 15 to get the second coffee. It was tasty so we got a third coffee and waited 25 minutes to get it. That is just plain ridiculous. I think the waitress caught on since we were already done with our meal and still hadnt received the coffee so she comped the drink. The food was fine but I swear the service sucks there. The restaurant looks nice inside and out so its a bit of a pro for atmosphere but when you have to actually get up to ask a waitress for the coffee you ordered thats where I draw the line. Never going back there to eat. I may stop by the outside window to pick up a coffee if its a nice day out and Im in no hurry.
