OVERALL: Great food and service! Based on reviews we tried the mole ($13) and chile relleno ($12) The mole was excellent!!! Fine gound nut texture with just the right amount of cocoa and spice.. Delicious! Included sides were very good, better than most latino restaurants... refried black beans topped with queso fresco, mexican rice, and the fresh salsa with chips. The chile relleno was okay but not something we would order again. Instead of a stuffed chile it was one jalapeno breaded and fried with panko and then the shredded chicken was on top of the fried jalapeno, then topped with melted queso, raisins & pecans. So the relleno was individual items cooked seperately then assembled rather than cooked all together. SERVICE: Service was excellent, quick and attentive. Food arrived very quick also.

Is there no visitors from the outside cause Cedar Hill you guys have no taste. I came here for great Mexican stated by the yelpers review. 4.5 is excellent and this is far from excellent. This deserves a complete 3 stars and no other. The restaurant has a great layout, exotic selection and service. My co workers food was pushed away and I didnt enjoy this 3 oz carne asada texolo for lunch. Prices are not fair, rather high for lunch at 9-10 bucks per person. We also had the queso and guac, which were very tiny and overpriced. Cleanliness 2/5 would give more but there was a dead dry lime buttom of our chips. Food: 2/5 Service: 4/5 Ambience: 3/5 Mixology: 4/5 Price: 2/5

I no longer live in the DFW area, but every time I visit I go to Veracruz Cafe. I have usually gotten the enchiladas or one of the chicken dishes, and Ive always been quite pleased. The chips and salsa are amazing, the ambiance is pleasingly rustic, and the service is always above excellent. I believe that Veracruz Cafe is the best Mexican restaurant in the Cedar Hill, Duncanville, DeSoto area (though Im not claiming to have been to every single one). If youve never been, I highly recommend trying it out.

Beautifully decorated inside and with a large selection of authentic Mex-Mex (thats Mexican folks, without the Texican in it.) Theres a chicken dish with a pumpkin seed sauce, for example, as well as other items (including mole) that you wont find in 90% of your DFW Mexican restaurants. Quality of the food is very good. The place is always full with people, that tells you something. However, its loud in there, so good luck holding a conversation because of the acoustics.

Service was great and I loved the atmosphere. Food on the otherhand was a little odd. Ordered the steak carnival and it was overly loaded with sauce and toppings. The salad came with a pickled-like vinaigrette that has a taste that needs to be aquired. The Spanish rice, if you added soy sauce, was more like fried rice from a Chinese restaurants. Even with the strange flavors it was not bad. Not good, but still not bad. Just weird.

The best enchiladas Ive ever had. And I know my enchiladas. The Pescado Xanath is fabulous. When everyone else is dropping their quality to combat the rising cost of groceries Veracruz is maintaining their quality by raising the cost of the dishes. Totally worth it. Ill pay a few extra bucks to get food that is worth leaving the house for.

The atmosphere and architecture are great with this place. You walk in and its a big nice building with a lot of custom designs. The food was pretty good. They use authentic blue corn tortillas for some of the recipes. The food was pretty good but the prices were kind of high compared to similar places. It was pretty good overall

The most amazing menu, perfectly executed! Way above the standard Mexican fare. The combination of spices and fresh ingredients makes me--and I know it sounds corny--but it really feels like youre on vacation in an exotic central American fantasy. No kidding :)

The food was okay. The rice and beans were kind of bland. Took our daughter for her 5th birthday. This is the first restaurant Ive ever been too that doesnt do anything for a birthday. No singing, no cake or ice cream, nothing!

Great atmosphere; great food. Come for the jalapa-style relleno and the mole, and come early for a laid-back happy hour. As a long-Dallasite, this is one of my favorite restaurants, and a nice break from standard Tex-Mex fare.

Excellent seafood. Large portions and authentic recipes. The staff works very hard as a team during peak hours. They are literally running to bus tables and on a busy peak Friday night. Wait time was 10 min or less.
