We read the reviews and this place sounded good. The best thing about this place is that the owner greeted us very warmly as we entered. However...our waitress seemed irritated when we asked for recommendations....she quickly suggested something, and seemed impatient to get our order in. Hopeful for something healthy and delicious, I ordered the detox salad--although healthy, it was disappointingly lackluster. Would have been better with nuts or seeds, julienned veggies (instead of thick chunky carrots) and a much more flavorful dressing. My husband and kids enjoyed their meals, but we thought the food was overpriced ($50+ for lunch for a family of five, no drinks or dessert). We may have had a better experience if we had another server, but sometimes you only get one chance to make an impression and this sealed the deal for us!

Weve passed by Yummies several times but theyve been packed. Walked in around 12.15 on Sunday and it wasnt as crowded, so we got a table immediately. Our server was incredibly helpful and recommended some great Yummies favorites. Tried the cold Padre Coffee (a blend of cinnamom, nutmeg and other island spices, with condensed milk and expresso) , kids loved the chocolate peanut butter smoothies and I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy Huevas Colima. My husband ordered the Bistro burger, my 7 year old requested the "Make your own eggs, 3 year old just had to have the Gavin Mickey pancakes and my 11 year old picked the shrimp quesadillas. The portion sizes are very generous. Its no wonder this place is crowded. The food is delish. (Average price per dish $9.99)

(Opinion 1)The menu was hard to read The pancakes taste like a dirty dish towel. The service was slow the best thing that came from the meal was the apple Juice. That set us by a trash can which Im sure is a health code violations. There were many people standing behind me as I eat. (Opinion 2) they have rubber material toast. They only have two restroom with one toilet. We had to ask for eating utensils which should be already on the table .the food was cook already because when we got the potatoes were cold . Also the eggs and nasty dish towel pancakes . The peppermint were good.

I was recently in South Padre Island and am glad I stopped at Yummies for brunch and coffee. I was greeted as I walked in, tended to relatively quick and I wish I could remember the coffee that I ordered because it was so good. It was served in a large cup and was called something like "coconut zest". The food was good, tasted home-made (authentic Mexican). The atmoshpere has a European feel to it. I believe it may be a wi-fi hotspot as well because there were a few customers with laptops. Im definitely going back there next time Im in South Padre Island.

Visiting SPI the end of August 2017 wanted to go here but after reading several very bad reviews on their Facebook page I will not be eating here for any of my meals. Service is more important to me then the food and after reading how rude manager and owner are to island visitors this will be one bad experience I will gladly avoid. When traveling to a new place for vacation and being the one who plans the entire vacation I take reviews seriously. Reviews about a place can make or break if I visit them. This will be one place that will loose my money.

This place was amazing.... We got to southpadre island in the morning for breakfast and this was our first stop breakfast was great ... Awesome pancakes and the coffee was amazing... They add two shots of expresso which was strong but all good... Great price and the flavor of the food was great very friendly waitress... Recommend this place the only thing that needs improvement is the restrooms they only have 2 restrooms so had to wait in line for at least 15 min... But other then that it was good...!!!

Breakfast was fabulous, and very reasonably priced for SPI. The selection from pancakes to eggs was varied but not too expansive. Pancakes were fluffy, French toast was "scrumptious" (as described by a 10 year old), the multi-grain waffle had a wonderful unique flavor and was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the Tex-Mex scram was an awesome blend of flavors. This will be our breakfast spot whenever were in SPI.

Best place on the island! Good service Great food! We have been here multiple times over the past couple of years and it awesome every time we go. It is most definitely worth the wait to get in during weekends and or peak seasons! What I love the most about this place is that there is nothing "out of the can" here! Everything is fresh! Love the fresh fruit bowls and toppings! We will be going back here every time we visit South Padre!

Yummies Bistro was one of the best places to eat in South Padre. The food and service was beyond excellent. Our waiter, Andrew, who also was the owners nephew, was just perfect. He was very attentive, helpful, kind, and knowledgeable of the menu. The taco plate, rancheros santa Cruz, and the savannah red eye dishes were absolutely great. Id recommend these dishes to anyone dining there. Five stars all around!

Given there is not many good cafes on the island, this place is IMO the best in South Padre! New owners. Almost the same good old great breakfast and brunch menu. Various combinations of English, Continental, Mexican style, etc. breakfast. Great coffee selection. Nice cozy atmosphere. Can be a little loud at crowded times. But overall the place is a great place to relax with a great meal and coffee.

Surprisingly amazing food! Service was quick and friendly. There was no lack of attentive staffing clearing plates and refilling coffee and the manager was visible coordinating. They have a great selection of coffee. The cinnamon drip brew was terrific. I had the Savannah Red Eye. The grits were fantastic, the sweet coffee reduction was delicious (a great sweet take on traditional red eye gravy).

We ate at Yummies all three mornings we were at South Padres Island. I had the smoked salmon Benedict, one of the omelettes and the Barbacoa special on Sunday. Every one of those dishes was delicioys and the presentation was thoughtful as well. The specialty coffees were delicious with intricate finishing touches that were worth photographing. Definitely a must for people visiting the island!

Coffee on the 26th and Breakfast on the 27th of June 2013. This was the only place we found on the island for a great cup of coffee. I had the Santa Cruz and let me tell you, I will try to dupilicate this from now on!!! Potatoes, mushrooms, shrimp, beacon with 2 eggs on top....... This was our last meal of the vaca on the island and man was it great! The cafe mocha was great. Go and Enjoy!

The first day we ate here the food was really good and the service was excellent. Our waitress was Becky. Fine job Becky. The next day we went back and the service was horrible. Unfortunately we did not get Becky. Our waitress was rude, inattentive. We had to ask three times for extra napkins. The only time our waitress was friendly was when she brought us the check. Too late.

The ONLY place to be in SPI for breakfast and lunch! Its worth the wait, plan ahead put your name down and stroll the shops for the food is yummy! Very cozy environment and staff always friendly and attentive. I was here with my large family for 10 consecutive mornings and again we were not able to taste all the dishes and types of delicious coffee !!
