Went to this place for sushi and noticed a bubbly tea place was right there too. Went to the bubble tea place to get a drink to have with our sushi, come back and low and behold our car has a boot on it. The man was unbelievably nasty and rude ( not only to us but to the other couple in the same situation). He was very aggressive and threatened everone there saying " I hate f***ing people like you" and saying " I suggest you get the F out of my way" And other crazy things. Caused a huge scene, police came, and he still couldnt calm down. I cant believe this establishment hires people to stalk their lot and boot customers! This man was horrible to everyone, even cut off the police when they were talking to cuss us more. I will never come back to an establishment that allows their customers to be treated this way. I came for sushi, not a $150 fee and threats. Worst experience Ive had anywhere. This man even managed to scare off other customers. Not good for business.

Maybe I came on an off-day but this sushi was probably the worst Ive ever had. I eat sushi a fair amount and this was just the worst even though I generally lower my standards by a lot for things like "happy hour sushi" because I know that you get what you pay for. Please only go here if youre desperate for cheap sushi (although really, you can get a comparable roll at HEB or Kroger). Also only go here if you dont have a vehicle to take you somewhere else because if you step a foot away from the car in the general direction of anything OTHER than this restaurant, you will get the boot and thats a $150 fine. Im thinking they make more from that than from serving their patrons. Ill be steering clear of this place and making sure everyone I know doesnt fall for their trap as well. There are so many other places to get affordable sushi that actually tastes good without the pettiness.

The sushi is *almost* always excellent. Ive noticed there are two sushi chefs (older?) that make great sushi and one younger chef whose sushi I dont like as much. Only other issue is that the servers can be inattentive at times (i.e. take 5 mins to refill your water when the place is empty). Otherwise this is my go-to sushi joint. Because I feel like this should go somewhere, I should note that I once found a huge container of "food grade ginger" in their restroom. Im not sure about health laws but I would imagine thats a sanitation issue. Im not sure if the container was opened or closed.

A very good sushi joint near UT with some parking. The menu items are decent prices and filling. Their Fried Calamari appetizer is by far my favorite calamari dish. The sauce that comes with it is very tasty. I tend to have a dilemma whether or not to dip the calamari in the sauce since the calamari tastes delicious by itself but also tastes delicious with the sauce. Agh! Their sushi rolls are great as well. My favorites are Blue Moonlight and Red Devil. I recommend getting a Bento box because they are very filling and at a good price ($10).

I come here for happy hour and the service is prompt, and the sushi is fresh. Ive also had their tempura udon and it comes out in a little cast iron pot with a handle, as well as a basket for the separate fried goodies. Recently, theyve added two rolls to the menu: the Austin roll and the Osaka roll. The Osaka roll instantly became a favorite of mine! If I remember correctly, it has white and red seared tuna, jalapenos, cucumber? avocado?, and a cilantro-based sauce on top. It might sound odd, but trust me, it is delicious!

Sushi was decent. Unfortunately the waitress misunderstood our orders. We finished the sushi and received a bill that was nearly double what was expected. Unsure if the sushi we received was what was on the bill, and the waitress was unable to clarify or confirm whether there was a mistake. She said because we ate the sushi, she couldnt do anything about it. Staff was unwilling to resolve issue and seemed OK with leaving the uncomfortable situation as it stood. Upsetting. Will not revisit.

My favorite thing about Niichi are the temaki, or hand rolls. Very tasty, quickly assembled, and filling. But after many months I finally had a sit down experience at lunch time. Heres what I found: The miso was perfect.... yeah.... you read it correctly... perfect. Best I have Ever had. The bento box was affordable, and came with a nice portion. Sushi chef has a penchant for gossiping about customers right after leave, but that adds character to the place!

This little place is nothing compared to other sushi restaurants Ive been to but the location and conveniency is where the money is at. My friends love this place and their HH is mediocre. Once of their best items on the menu is their Tempura Udon. It is to die for and I highly recommend it. You can eat it any time of the day and the taste is consistent every time. A sushi joint right in the heart of campus? Youre bound to end up there if you havent been already.

I was on an ubereats order and wanted some sushi. I parked at this place, andwent to go drop off order. Not even five mutes passes by as I start walking to go get some sushi, the owner had called and had a boot pit on my car. I waited for an hour while my money was transferring, watching customer after customer drive off, seeing they couldnt get my spot. They not only lost my business but every other person that drove off.

Went to go there to eat and decided to go look at the tea place next door then came back. The property service booted my car even knowing I was coming to eat and waisted all the money I was going to use on sushi. On top of all that they damaged my property and was threatening my for asking why the boot was put onto my vehicle. I will never do business with this company.

Great food, parking is fine, Great daily specials, Great Bento Box for $10-11 dollars (plenty of food). Great Sushi. Happy Hour specials, Sit at the bar and watch them serve the best sushi around town. But best of all, the waitress, Diana, she is just awesome !! Very pleasant atmosphere, that includes their staff and the interior design of the place.

Definitely the best sushi within walking distance from UT. Great happy hour selection and prices (and two happy hours during the week days!). Nice, casual atmosphere and consistent service. Ive never ventured much away from the rolls, except for the miso soup and the salad that comes in the combos. The salad has an amazing dressing!

Ive been here a few times. Some of the prices may be high but you get a lot of food. I ordered the katsu bento a couple times and the food was pretty consistent. The tempura that comes with the meal is great. Also, make sure you tell them if you prefer the bento without spicy mayo if you decide to order what I did. --4.5 stars

UT students should be thankful of this establishment. Good quality sushi, flexible happy hour, and super close to campus. Parking is an issue for anyone who does not live close to the restaurant or in West Campus, but it is a fantastic deal, especially during happy hour! Sushi chefs make sitting at the sushi bar worth it, too!
