The food was interesting and more fusion that I expected. Things like "Brisket Fried Rice" and a sunchoke fried rice are on the menu. This is not the typical Chinese restaurant - but of course not, this is Austin. Over all the food was decent. Oddly enough, my favorite thing I ordered were the "Pickles" which is a bowl of lightly pickles cabbage. I also ordered the clay pot. While the food was tasty, there was a very obvious lack of protein - for the price, I expected about 25-50% more meat with the entree. I ordered a house cocktail called "The Nasty Woman" - props to the bartender for this name and the drink itself. The decor is very "hipster Austin" with some wallpaper that, in any other setting would be considered tacky, dark colors mixed with pops of colors and low lighting. The wait staff was attentive, and our waitress was polite while explaining the menu. Overall, I enjoyed Old Thousand and would probably go back. The pricing is a little steep, but that is to be expected in downtown Austin.

So i went here with my gf and thr place was pretty empty its saturday and that hurricane just hit so its pretty rainy. Well the food was taking for ever and they brought out our green beans and they were hard and over seasoned. While my girlfriend and I were waiting for the rest of our order we decided to go outside for a smoke. I told the waitress and even left my jacked thats a tan color easily visible at my seat. We walked around to the side of the building under this garage because its raining and this short ball angry guy came out from the back and said are you going back in there and i said ya and he replied good all angry like. I then said thats why i left my jacket in there and he replied well its just atrange... so i told them to take it togo and they for got the forks!

Huge fan of this place. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, fantastic food, and tasty craft cocktails. This is definitely a place with dishes "inspired by chinese-american quisine", and not a typical chinese-american restaurant, so dont expect to get the Sesame Chicken. The craft cocktails are $5 during happy hour, and thats a great deal. The food is family style and everything I tried was fantastic. Spicy, flavorful... very very good. I recommend sitting at the chefs counter to watch the chefs and to interact with the friendly staff.

Awesome place for family-style dinners, because youll want to try it all. I came with a group of six and we tried all of the appetizers and most of the entrees and desserts. I really loved the fried rice and the pepper chicken. Considering how new the place is, the service was very good. Because we were eating family style, we had a constant stream of food coming out from the kitchen and never went hungry. I really love the decor and atmosphere, but it is pretty loud and difficult to carry on a conversation.

Its nice to finally get top notch service from a friendly and professional staff in Austin. Thats a rare thing these days, especially around here. Loved the all the veggies dishes. The califlower, green beans and Chinese broccoli were shockingly delicious, but the bok choy blew my head off my shoulders. A gift from the Gods. The orange chicken and chicken in steamed buns left me speechless.

This place has some of the best Chinese (fusion?) food, Ive ever eaten! The service was fantastic; our server coordinated with the kitchen to bring out the family-style meal in courses that added on the ones before to create a truly memorable dinner. The happy hour specials are great, and the Honey Prawn is a must for seafood lovers!

Good food. High priced for Asian food. I cucumber salad which was spicy and delicious. Got mapo eggplant (bland and way better at Asia market in 183), orange chicken (3/5 stars) and mango panna cotta (5/5 stars). Cool bar and good drinks. Its fancy hip Asian food, but like always you can find the original better and less expensive.

Ive been twice now and the quality of the food as been different. The first time I got the tea egg salad and it was fresh and amazing and super yummy. The second time, the eggs were over cooked and felt old and over oxidized. The Dan Dan noodles however are great! The vibe is great and the staff is super friendly.

Outstanding service and truly incredible food. The manager (Logan) was superb as was our waiter (Omar). Simply the best dining experience we have ever had compared to some of the top restaurants weve visited in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Chicago, New York, LA, London and elsewhere. You wont be disappointed!

Finally, a great Chinese restaurant. Trendy, loud, atmosphere, but the dishes are so flavorful. Sharing small plates is the way to go. If not for the limited craft cocktails served, I would have given this place 5 stars. Great beer and wine selection for those who seek it.

Said it would be 30 minutes wait, was more like an hour. Kitchen was backed up to where food was taking forever. Ended up leaving. We may try it later when they figure it out, but now its too new unless have time to kill and want to wait around being the guinea pig.

Great place for Asian Fusion. I went with a group of four, ate family style, ordered 3-4 smaller dishes and 4 larger ones. . We were stuffed. OT has great options. The Steamed Pork Belly Buns are to die for. Dont leave without having them.

We essentially ordered everything on the menu, the appetizers were ok, but as we moved through the entrees, it just kept getting better and better. By the end I was very satisfied and very impressed by the flavor of the food

New "Hipster Chinese" joint that serves really well put together traditional Chinese food with modern twists. Place gets pretty loud so not the best for holding a conversation. Great for groups and parties.

I have been here twice and both times the staff was wonderful. The food was off the chain and the environment was very mellow. I had a good time here I would recommend this place to family and friend.

Quaint Asian fusion. Packed to the gills, so make a reservation or call ahead. My date loved the location. The food was fun, inventive and very tasty.

Pricey but worth it. Everything my group ordered on the menu was delicious and had a unqiue twist to Chinese food.
