If there were a way to put no stars for this review I would. Chinese food is my favorite food and I eat Chinese food at least 3 times a week. Needless to say I will never eat at this place again!!! Never ever. We ordered 3 entrees and none of the plates were even edable. I just cant understand how the owners can be Chinese and cook/serve the food that they served us. Unbelievable. The sizzling beef was sooooo dry that it tasted like it was freeze dried kippered beef. VERY bad. The chicken Dish we had was was extreamely bland and the chicken tasted like it was 3 weeks old. I just could not believe how bad this food was. Now the waitress was very kind and friendly and the atmoshere was ok, so the only complaint that I have was the food, and guess what? People go to a resturaunt for the food right? For the people that say this is good food. WOW.... I am a true believer in second chances but we ordered 3 entrees and 3 were horrible!!!! Good luck if you are planning on trying this place. Oh the egg drop soup was ok, and the egg rolls were a tad bit above average. FYI, we left all 3 entrees on the table, tipped the waitress well and left extreamely dissappointed because I read every review on this resturaunt before we went to eat there. UNBELIEVABLE SOME OF THESE PEOPLES OPINIONS. Who knows though, maybe they had a new cook in the kitchen? I hope so because San Marcos is hurting for good places to eat. I just tell it like it is, thats all...... The pizza place next door is VERY good though.

I wouldnt call this the worst Chinese food I have ever had...but it is a close second. The service was horrible. Our waitress spent most of the evening talking to her friends at another table. Our order was wrong...we were over charged for several things we did not receive and some things were on the ticket we did not ask for. The place looks run down and filthy. The restaurant smelled as if someone was smoking cigarettes in the back. It made it difficult to eat knowing how bad the place looked and smelled. I had the hot and sour soup and it had way too much starch in it and it was WAY to spicy. My husbands soup as well as my soup had about half a cup of green onions in it and it over powered the rest of the soup. The large amount of green onions made it very unpleasant to eat. The presentation of the food looked nice, but the General Tsos chicken had too much chicken fat on the meat. I felt that for what you got, it was over priced. We had dinner so maybe this is a better place for lunch. I was not very impressed at all. We also felt that the fried rice was bland and kind of dry and old. I wont be going back there any time soon. "Restaurant Impossible" would tear this place apart...maybe they should call him in.

We had a large group here a couple of weeks ago. Second time weve done that. About half of us ordered sesame chicken or something similar. It was not fresh, very tough and hard to chew. We basically all just wasted money on those orders because hardly anyone ate more than a few bites. We still had a good time, but it certainly wasnt because of the food. Ive been here about 8 times. I will NOT be going back. Think Ive had enough of that place

In my opinion, gives Wok N Roll a run for its money for the best Chinese place in San Marcos. rose gardens food is delicious. Their service is great, friendly and fast, and most importantly its cheap - a good bang for your buck value. Only downside I ever had eating there was a time I got a headache after eating one of their foods, not sure why it happened. I attributed it to the MSG if they even put it in the food.

I love the place in person, but just ordered take-out for the first time. We were given to sliverware or napkins and the soup was served in a 4 ounce container. The condiments that we ordered were not in the bag. I wont order take out there again!!

I am not a huge fan of Asian food, but I love this place. I get the chicken and broccoli ever time and I could eat it every day for the rest of my life! It has different staff every time I go, but that doesnt matter because the food is fantastic.

Love the place and the food is amazing. Been going for over five years and only disappointed once...that was the only time I ever ate there for dinner so that may be a reason. Either way, portions worth the money especially for lunch.

Good good at a fair price ...good Asian cuisine is hard to find in San Marcos Texas but I recommend Rose Garden to anyone wanting takeout Asian food... inside the restaurant could use some upgrades but eating there isnt bad either.

Food tasted great, lunch special is just the right portion of food. Service is also great but I feel this place is a little over priced considering there are several other options around for Chinese cuisine.

I ordered the Buddahs Delight or the all vegetable dish and it come out partially hot and partially cold. I think it was definitely frozen. The food is worth the money... crap. Never coming back.

Rose Garden consistently provides fresh, hot, and tasty food. Every item on the menu is worth trying once. The casual ambiance and prompt service makes it an Asian jewel in the heart of TEXAS!

Food is great, treated well. Good Prices too. I originally went to Asian Garden because it was closer. Not anymore. I love Rose Garden. LOVE IT. I wish they were open right now. :(

How do they manage to make Chinese food so bland? You can pick something with a chili next to it and ask for extra chili and you still wont be able to taste any.
