Hold the pee-pee sauce. I dined here for lunch on 2/20/2015. The restaurant was completely empty, not one other diner the entire time I ate, yet I was denied to sit at the table I requested. The food tasted OK, no real complaint here except temperature was off on some items. After eating, I washed my hands briefly. I observed a member of kitchen staff proceed directly from urinal to kitchen without hand washing. The sink was free and available as I dried my hands, but he made no effort to wash. I brought this to the attention of the cashier/hostess who said, "Sorry!" But thats about it. No concession of any kind was made. She did not demand that he wash his hands immediately or fire him on the spot. Not even 10% off your next visit (which would never happen anyway). The food was OK, I guess, for what you pay until you learn it is made with hygiene practices that would gag a buzzard. One star only because I couldnt figure out how to go lower.

If you ever wanted to know how a traditional mom and pop Korean restaurant is ran, come here. I love this place and the adorable mother who just wants to see you eat despite your objections of having no more room in your belly. When you come here, you really do get the sense that youve just entered someones home and they are cooking food for you. Your meal will come with a barrage of side dishes which I consider to be the best to offer in all of the Korean places Ive tried in Austin. They will never let you have any empty side dish and will always make sure that your food is to your liking. They may not have the best tasting Korean food youve ever had, but you wont be disappointed. Like that loving mother, aunt, or grandmother that always encourages you to eat more, you will find yourself compelled to eat as much as you can to not disappoint them.

I visited Korean Grill for the first time on Sunday and I was very impressed. The outside looks plain, but hidden behind that plain exterior is great food and wonderful service. Our waitress took the time to tell us exactly what each side dish was, which has never been offered to me at a Korean restaurant before (now I know what the sides that I like so much are!). There were a couple of sides made with fresh greens from the familys own garden, which I thought was really cool. All of the dishes my friends and I ordered were very flavorful and satisfying. I cannot wait to return to try other items from the menu!

What a hidden gem in Austins Chinatown. Its vegetarian friendly, too. I had the vegetarian Bibimbap which came with fried tofu in place of meat. The red spicy sauce condiment (gochujang) really brought the dish together! It was big enough for me to take half home for dinner. The small side dishes they bring out were SO good! Of them, my favorite was the seaweed and the tofu marinated in a red sauce. The kimchi pancake was fried to perfection. The waitress was very attentive and refilled our hot tea regularly throughout the meal.

I came to visit Austin a year and half ago and I ate here 3 times in a week. I went and tried couple of other ones too, but food quality, taste, price and service of this one was excellent and much much better than any of those Ive tried. Im visiting Austin again and for 2 weeks this time. Its been a week now and Ive already been there 4 times and food, quality, service, taste and price are still excellent! I plan to go and eat there a few more times before I leave town. Its that good and I am a Korean who knows Korean food.

This place is pretty good. The server is super funny and the interior decor is nice. I got the gimli beef bento box. It came with about 4 beef ribs that were cut up. The ribs had a nice flavor, but it was a little fatty. The box came with miso soup, that i wish had been a little warmer. Overall the flavors were nice. The rice, which is usually a throwaway, was really good. It was nice and sticky. Overall, I would go back. Its comparable to Korea House. My group thought that it might be more authentic than Korea House.

I love the portions and especially the generous banchan! Their seafood pancake has just the right amount of crispness and onion flavor, the doenjang jjigae ( 된장찌개) is the best Ive had in Austin (the chef slow-cooks the base broth overnight before adding it to the jjigae to-order). Their L.A. galbi is well-marinated and grilled: juicy, sweet, easily comes off the bone! The family who owns and runs this loves serving good Korean food to the locals; they are friendly and even enjoy conversing with the customers.

This is the first place I go to get my Korean food fix. They dont have Korean BBQ, but their dishes are really really good. The first time I went there, they gave my daughters free miso soup and won tons, which was really sweet. I would recommend the sul lang tang soup and their chap chae rivals my grandmothers. The owners have been Austinites for over 10 years and decided to open their own restaurant because they were disappointed with the Korean restaurants in Austin.

This place is one my favorite Korean places to eat. I always like to come here with my wife and order the Bulgogi and it always comes out so delicious. My wife usually gets the Kimchi jiggae. The food is excellent and the people are always very friendly. This place and the other korean bbq place by the shut down mall are my favorite places to eat korean food, and if you are looking for a place that fits the budget and is good definitely give this place a look.

Im keeping it short because Im in the middle of eating it right now, but its fantastic! I wanted to write a quick note before I forgot. I went there on pure luck and actually ran into a few friends while I was getting take-out. It would have been easy to drive right past it and not realize how great the food and service are, they were extremely nice. Ill definitely be going back soon. If youre looking for a new local place to try out, give it a try.

This place is great. The quality of the food amazing. We had the ssambob (the four types of bulgogi with lettuce and sides). I didnt ask, but Im pretty sure they grow their own lettuce. It was very fresh. The meats were nice and tender. The broth was tasty. All the sides were good... I cant complain about anything. The restaurant owners are very attentive and take a lot of pride in their food. You can tell. The food is proof.

I loved my meal of velvety tofu soup (sundubu jjigae) with its the traditional backup of banchan, a tray of assorted, mostly pickled, vegetables. Everything was delicious and authentic--I know from living in Korea for two years. This was the kind of stick-to-rib food thats ideal on a cold day, and it left me with that wonderful endorphin rush that comes with eating a perfect meal, and all that for less than $12--plus tip.

This place is pretty expensive compared to other Korean restaurants in Austin. But if you go during their lunch specials, the food is worth it. Food always comes out sizzling hot, whether its bulgogi or the soups. I love their banchan/side dishes and they dont mind refilling them if you ask. But seriously, Id only recommend coming here during their lunch hours because their overall menu is pretty limited.
