What To Order: Bulgogi or Kalbi One of my favorite Korean BBQs anywhere. If your looking for authentic, flavorful dishes that are simply amazing, come here. Ive been visiting Korea House now for a few years and usually order the Bulgogi or Kalbi. Every meal comes with your banchan (sides) and the portions on entrees are good size. My favorite side dishes are the pickled garlic and white radish which come with your meal. Over the years my friends and I have tried a variety of items from the menu and none of them have disappointed. I highly recommend the above 2 items, but other great items are the Bibim Bab, Haemul Pajun (Seafood Pancake) and the stir fried seafood noodles which I cant remember the name of. Service is always good, food comes out quick even when they are busy, and staff is always friendly, whether it be a food recommendation, or a special request. Its a hidden place, located on the inside ring of a shopping center, not visible from the street. Its a place you have to know about to find. I highly recommend Korea House to the Korean fanatic, or food explorer. This is a place you need to try at least once.

Whenever I get a craving for bulgogi, this is where I go. I normally dont do the Korean barbecue thing because I prefer for them to do the cooking. Ive tried a few of the sushi rolls, which are good, but nothing spectacular. I wouldnt expect it since that isnt what they are known for. The real star of this place if the bulgogi. I get beef and the boyfriend gets pork. There are SO many sides that come with it. I couldnt tell you what most of them are, except that they are all, for the most part, delicious. This is definitely a place for the adventurous because its a waste to not give everything at least a little try. They bring you additional rice at no charge which is nice. The service isnt the greatest, but its more of a serve yourself kind of place/mentality. Like other people have said, yes you will smell like the barbecue when you leave. Your car will smell. Your hamper will smell. Its not necessarily bad, I would just suggest going home to change if you plan on heading out for a night on the town after dinner.

One of the worst customer experience you can ever have. Their food is great, and its a great place to grill Korean BBQ or sushi, but all of that wont matter after you get some of the worst customer service ANYWHERE. I like to go to Korean BBQs because its a great place to get to grill your own meat the way you like it. Not here though, as I was berated on not grilling it in the manner my waiter preferred. I was literally left speechless when he literally took the utensils out from my hand and proceeded to cook the food his way. I always heard of their horrible customer service from other reviewers, but thought nothing of it since I had always been greeted with decent service in my book. After my last visit however, Ive learned that it was just a matter of time till I got the same service. Dont waste your time or your pleasantries with their rude behavior, there are other places to get your Korean BBQ.

Sushi was mediocre for the price and the cashier accused my husband and I of not paying for a roll we had paid for. Since they have no real POS system, just a person typing dollar amounts in and not giving people even their regular receipt, never mind an itemized one, we had no way to prove we had. I had previously run up our total including 18% gratuity on my phone, and he ended up paying more than that initially due to who knows what vagaries in her entry, so I assume she just wanted to rip us off another ten. So on top of our meal sucking for the price, we had to put up with a cashier screaming to the entire restaurant that we were trying to leave without paying. I gave her the ten dollars she wanted to pocket so she would stop screaming and we left. NEVER coming back.

I dont know much about Korean food, but I had a great time at Korea House! When our pan-fried tofu and all the sides came out, my friend and I naively decided to pour all the sides into the dish and stir them around. It turned out to be delicious, but the waitress definitely laughed at us, haha. In addition to the tofu dish we got a combo box that came with three different meats in addition to some sushi, tempura, an egg roll and a fried dumpling. Everything on the plate was great, and it was useful having an option to be able to try out many different flavors. Our waitress was attentive and charming, and the restaurant itself is situated right by a hidden fish pond in the middle of the shopping center. Ill be coming back to embarrass myself again soon!

I have been eating at the Korea House since 1974. The owner passed away within the past few years. He was a wonderful man who was always there and taking care of his customers. I have been back there two times within the past 2 years. I am very disappointed that the place is so dirty. The bathroom and the floors and windows and blinds are filthy. Come on people! Clean up the place. Also several of the items I have eaten there for years on the menu have changed their ingredients. I guess to make them cheaper. I miss the good old days and I hope that they can get it together and keep making the great food that they always did. CLEAN THE PLACE UP!

Experience was more like "North Korean BBQ". The servers bring you the same quantity of the little side dishes like Kimchi whether you have one person or three and charge you a dollar for each additional side dish. If you pay for three Bulgogi entrees the servers should bring three portioned side dishes instead of three people sharing a single portioned side dish. This restaurant used to be better. It is still fairly authentic if you get a table where they cook in front of you, but you have to be Asian or have a much larger group of people. I may continue to eat here, but will likely not tip the rude old ladies very well.

Delicious. We try Korean and Japanese fare all over Austin in a search for what will fill the stomach best. Korea House did well...the sushi chef was friendly and treated us to some temaki and some sashimi while we were simply ordering. Just amazing. The Bibimbop my wife had was tasty while I had the pork bulogi and we also sampled a spicy yellowltail roll and some escolar and tako. All really generous portions, and fresh. Well be back, but I pray soju wull be available next time. Sake and Japanese beers are great...but I was really craving Soju and have to knock a star off for that oversight.

I finally got around to coming to this place after reading from my fellow yelpers. I have to say I enjoyed the Calbi and my wife enjoyed her soup. The side dishes were also delicious and the kim chi had been aged well enough. My only gripe was the annoying waiter who felt it was his duty to tell us how to eat the food and reprimand us when we didnt follow his instructions. The environment is crowded but that is to be expected with it being so delicious. I have not tried to sushi yet but I can assure you that I will try that next time. Overall its a good place and I would recommend it.
