Came here for our 25th anniversary- kind of a big one. First, they sat us at 2 separate seating areas. Not the best start. When asking if we can make one big table, the hostess response was "well, I told you it would be two separate tables when you made the reservations."- and walked off. Im not sure who got involved after that, our server did not want to help us out either, but after nearly refusing to sit down, we did get to sit at one squared off table by putting several together. For the food- I was pleasantly surprised at the prices, for the types of food on the menu. I felt like we were going to get a great meal, good quality ingredients and professionally prepared. The disspointment was when it came out. The filet was luke-warm and the veggies I got with it were borderline cold. I could tell it was sitting out for at least 15 minutes. It was really unappetizing and just ended up boxing it up. While Im looking forward to the leftovers, I wished it would have been better coming to the table. While we had 2 waitstaff for our party of 13, service was slow and interruptive. After not seeing some of our guests for a long time, I felt it cumbersome to help the waitstaff figure out who ordered what every time something came out. So for the prices they did charge (our dinner for 3 was 200.00) and the hassle we had to just get a table put together, calling around the table for who ordered the peppercorn steak with twice baked, I was disappointed and wont go back.

This is The KEG I know and love. As I am sure most know, if not now you will, The KEG is a Canadian chain. Me being Canadian I have eaten The KEG for a long time in the Toronto area. Every KEG I have been to in Canada has amazing food and it is always consistent regardless where you go in Canada. So, coming to Texas for vacation I was very excited to see The KEG and have a little taste of home while on an extended visit. However, after eating here, while the atmosphere is exactly the same, the quality of food is not. Not sure if The KEGs in the States have a different distributor than their Canadian counterparts, but the food is definitely NOT the same. Any Canadian or American that has had the pleasure of eating at a Canadian one would be able to tell the difference. It pains me to give a restaurant that I love and hold dear one star. While if you have never eaten at the Canadian KEGs the food may taste great, it will be ruined once you do. I hope that the food can come from where we receive ours in Canadian so the great people of Dallas and America can enjoy what The KEG can TRULY offer...very disappointed. However, I do have to say Texans have some AMAZING food choices that I miss and hope to enjoy again! Cant wait to come back!

Went to celebrate a close friends birthday along with her family. The waitress, Taylor, initially appeared to be dry and unfriendly but she got better as we continued to dine, no complaints about her quality of service, just one suggestion, dont look so serious (learn to fake smile). Anyway... three steaks, in our party, were not cooked correctly and were sent back TWICE. You think the manager would come to our table to apolo-lie about the food ---No. You would think the manager would offer a dessert... discount... something for the inconvenience---No. Now my food was fine...but it bothers me when a business does not value a customers business, particularly return business. If customers dont return the business will fail. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Keg, not because of my food, but the service was lacking. When people pay premium prices for a product, we want premium service. If the Keg does not improve in this area, it will not be at the Highlands for long, particularly when you can go to Salt Grass and get a steak of equal quality, prepared right, for less money. ---The extra 2 stars are for Taylor, otherwise, the establishment would have received 1 Star.

Made reservations for 14 people for a 40th birthday. They tell us they can accommodate our party but dont bother to mention that we will have to sit at 2 separate tables. Escargot - Overcooked & rubbery Caesar Salad - Dry plain chopped lettuce with ONE crouton and barely enough dressing to taste. Filet - Good but too much fat. The only good thing about the meal was the chocolate cake for dessert. That was DELISH! Service - RIDICULOUS. I received the wrong drink, waiter insisted it was correct & seemed annoyed when I asked for a new drink. Husbands soda glass remained empty for over 15 minutes. He asked for a refill TWICE. Im pretty sure you shouldnt have to ask for a refill at an upscale restaurant where youre paying $200 for 2 people. I truly hope this isnt the norm but I certainly wont risk it and go again. To top it off, the waiter had the NERVE to tell us "I added 18% gratuity but feel free to add more if you feel I did a good job." REALLY?!?! Pressuring for extra tip after that kind of service in a high end steakhouse? Save yourself the trouble & stick with Del Friscos, Ruths Chris or Bobs.

I will not eat here ever, but not due to the food. My husband (who is Latino) applied to work here and was told to come in for an interview. He arrived early, dressed in black slacks and a button down shirt, ready for an interview. He also speaks fluent English (not that the interviewer ever took the time to notice). Another man (white) came in to apply for the job dressed in cargo shorts and flip flops. He came in after my husband and filled out a paper application. He was taken to the back before my husband for an interview. When he came out, the interviewer looked at my husband and walked in the opposite direction. The hostess went to the back to follow up and the manager simply replied that he was not taking anymore interviews. I refuse to associate myself or give any of my money to a business with racist and inconsiderate management.

Its lost its luster. Its been about 3 years since weve been and totally shocked at how terrible the quality of the steaks were. My husband and I both had bacon wrapped filet mignon. Both were over cooked (we requested medium) and Both did not seem to be filets, very fatty and not lean like a filet traditional usually is. The ahi Tuna tower as sub par - nothing that screamed wow this is some damn good sushi rated tuna. We never said anything to the server partially because we hardly saw her and it didnt matter. We already made up our minds we were never going back. The fresh bread was excellent and wedge/Caesar were AMAZING! We joked as we left - should have ordered salad and bread and thats it. Waste of $200 + dollars. Roadhouse is where we should have gone or spend the same amt at a real steakhouse like bobs or trulucks.

This place is awesome. I recommend the Ribeye steak, 20 ounces with the bone-in! The twice-baked potato was also very interesting and delicious:) They take a loaded baked potato, mix it all together and then bake it again! The manager even came by to see how everything tasted:), I appreciated the attention. The service is fantastic and my family and I had an excellent time. I was also impressed that they also still have the Lobster tail meal I had the fist time I came, even though its not on the menu. I wasnt in the mood for Lobster the last time I came in but it is good to know I could still order it if I wanted:). This is a great place for a great experience; take my word for it:).
